We have an old rusty washer/dryer combo. In the past two weeks Kenneth has come out on two different occasions and fixed both. He was super professional and solved both problems quickly. I'm especially grateful knowing how scary it would be to go into random houses during the covid-19 outbreak. To give your workers more protection and peace of mind, you could ask customers ahead of time if there is anyone sick at the home and to set up your workers with masks and hand sanitizer. Unprofessional! Chris is by far the most unprofessional service rep I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. Bad mood, bad attitude, and short fused. Super glad he didn't get to go into my house on this occasion, because based on his prior reviews, he has no problems opening up appliances and leaving the job incomplete. Chris seems to not realize that as a paying customer, I have other options, which I chose to exercise on this occasion to get my refrigerator repaired. Excellent customer service via phone. The person I spoke with was very helpful, professional, and answered all of my questions. He told me someone would call me shortly to schedule my appointment, which they did. They were quite busy and fit me in 2 days after my call since my issue was not technically an emergency. After making phone calls on 2 occasions I was told I would get a call back from then and I never did. I had problems with my washer/dryer and was still under the warranty. I called the manufacturer and they had set me up with two other appliance repair companies before they set me up with Browne's. Robert, the technician from Browne's is so knowledgeable. The previous two repair companies were like a bunch of crooks because they understood that it was being paid for by the manufacturer and not by me. They absolutely had no knowledge, I don't even know how or where they got their qualifications to be an appliance repair technician. This is not the case for Browne's. Browne' is a very ethical company. They always answer their calls and have such friendly customer service. Robert, their technician is a true expert- he really understands the function and repair capabilities of the appliances. I am very pleased with their service. I highly recommend anyone who has an issue with their appliance, whether it's still under warranty or not to give Browne's a try. They really know their stuff and will give you honest answers. I owe this good review to the good folks @ Browne's as I have had excellent success for many years with them under warranty and now out of warranty. They have earned my business and deserve their stellar reputation despite a few bad reviews I noticed here on Yelp. Though I am in an unrelated business I have learned you can't please everyone no matter what you do. I slammed another appliance company on Yelp a few years ago who blatantly lied and tried to cheat me with the most evil ownership I have ever encountered. Having owned a multitude of properties for decades on both coasts with numerous appliances I typically more often than not know when someone is being fair or not. Lets face it being an appliance repair company must be rough Like a automobile repair shop most consumers have good reasons not to trust Under warranty it isn't easy finding qualified experts for each given brand and model Especially in an industry where quality is all over the map and repairs are getting more and more complicated with all the electronics, bells and whistles manufactures pack on the average appliance today. No wonder there has to be interaction with the manufacturer service line and service manual on a occasion which another misinformed poster criticized them for. Browne's is about is as good as it gets IMO for some of the following reasons They are honest and work with the customer charging market price and no more than reasonably necessary to do the job. in my recent out of warranty visit with my LG washer they nailed it first time out and even explained how I caused the problem so I can avoid the issue in the future. Previously I used them for service for my high end Electrolux stove, refrigerator and my dishwasher while under warranty for free. Each and every time they came through 100% just as if I paid them out of pocket. Sometimes it required a second or 3rd visit but they always did everything above and beyond until all problems were solved 100% to my satisfaction. When it was the manufacture's product defect they diligently worked to get it exchanged/replaced in one instance Browne's from my understanding is a small family owned business and so much better than the giant clueless 1800 appliance type companies who frequently have poorly trained associates/service folks. On my most recent service visit Browne's at my house within 24 hours from product failure to recovery. That in itself a small miracle. Chris came out identified the issue and singlehandedly like superman juggled two stacked heavy LG appliances got to the difficult to access clogged filter causing a lack of drainage and had my DOA washer working like new again in one single visit . Most appliance service folks would have demanded more money to move the two appliance's. Chris is an ex New Yorker and he isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty not taking on the job of two service folks physically wow. My advice to others it isn't always easy to get through to Browne's as they are slow sometimes in answering phones and returning calls due to having a very small staff of family and friends But your patience will pay off typically as you are dealing with a company that more often than not cares about satisfying customers and building lifetime relationships one visit at a time I salute the good folks at Browne's and hope they will be around for a long time to come I personally avoid service contracts and would rather pay an honest service company who generally knows what they are doing then get stuck with horrible service folks, wasted time and pricey contracts that up charge and nickel and dime under contract and send the next warm body rather than experienced trained service folks. Moved into this apartment a month ago and the first time I ran the dishwasher, it flooded the kitchen. Called Browne's to get it fixed, and they sent somebody out right away. It turned out to be a nightmare of a problem, first the motor/pump then it was discovered a valve needed to be replaced. Nate, the poor guy, was dealing with an appliance from the early 1980's, and ran to various stores trying to find a proper valve. He had to come over a few separate times, because he kept running into new problems each time in part to the poor upkeep of the building's plumbing, but each time called the night before to set up a time and then again before he would actually come over, and was always punctual. Nate was the nicest and most patient person ever, especially when dealing with our hard-headed landlord. I was referred to Browne's for service on my new Electrolux dryer. Chris came out promptly, identified the problem and caught a potential fire hazard problem as well. We have been remodeling for eighteen months, and one of the subs vented my dryer into the crawl space of our construction. However, he never hooked the vent up to the outside; so the lint was collecting in that small, warm place between the ceiling and the roof. It was a fire waiting to happen. Thanks to Chris from Browne's, he replaced the defective dryer part, installed a new baffle as well and properly vented the dryer. It was a pleasure to do business with such a solid company. Chris is a great guy that will not play games with you. If he quotes you a price, that'll be the price. If he tells you he'll be there at a certain, he will be there. If one of his guys doesn't quite do the repair, he'll come out personally and make you whole. As a fellow (ex) New Yorker I appreciate his direct NYC style because what you see is what you get. No guessing, just direct and clear communication. He repaired my fridge for a very fair price and evaluated my dishwasher and was also going to repair it but unfortunately they don't make the part anymore. Chris went out of his way to find that part..but nowhere to be found. Same with a tray table for my ancient microwave...they don't manufacture the part anymore, but he tried finding a replacement that may still fit without me even asking. That's great service! My personal experience with Brown's couldn't have been better. My first phone call was answered by a live person, and the owner called back a few hours later as promised. Tech came out 2 days later on schedule, diagnosed problem, billed me $65 for that, and ordered the part required. Part arrived 2 days early and tech came out and installed it no issues. Total bill was $265 and the lowest estimate I got from other services was $295. The appliance in question was 9 year old Samsung fridge. Not everyone will even service a Samsung due to lack of company support and I'm told it's hard to get parts. Great fridge tho. read more

Thank you so much Brownes and especially to your wonder employee Chris! I was recently having some problems with my older Kenmore combo washer drier, more specifically the drier wasn't drying clothes anymore and it sounded like it was going to blow up. After getting tired of running 2-3 full dry cycles and still being left with damp clothes I called a local appliance repair company. The technician came out started poking and proding my machine and in about 15 minutes declared it was "shot". He said the electric heating unit needed replacement and it would cost about $500 to fix. He suggusted it wasnt worth repairing an older unit like I had, and I should just buy a new one. It was very upsetting because I am not able to afford a new unit so after some research on yelp I came across Brownes and figured I had little to lose on a second opinion. The lady at the office was very nice over the phone and technician chris arrived at my house the next morning. Chris was extremely professional and extremely knowledgeable, explaining every step of the process. After only a few minutes he explained to me that the heating elements rarely fail and mine was in perfect working order, my main problem was a badly clogged drier vent. He was able to clear years of clogged lint from my machine and fixed the vent hose leading to the exterior which was causing the backup. It turns out the excess noise from my machine was caused from simply a loose belt and he fixed that quickly as well. Overall chris was outstanding, fast and extremely honest. He didn't push parts I didn't need (like the other company's tech) and his diagnosis was spot on. What turned out to be a relatively easy and inexpensive fix saved me from having to buy a whole new unit. In actuality could have saved my house from a fire being that my clog was so bad it could have easily ignited eventually.. very scary to think! To top it all off, Chris even noticed my LG refrigerator door was misaligned which was causing it to not fully close sometimes, he fixed it in 5 minutes and for FREE! Oh and I'm also saving electricity since my clothes dry so fast now! This is an awesome local company and I'd reccomend them to anyone! read more

If I could give a Zero star I would. The Customer service staff are very good, however, the experience I had with the technician assigned to my case was very bad. I got referred to them by Pirch. They gave me 4 hours window of waiting. So I requested a few time that if they can call me 30 min before they arrive to my house. they said that the technician can only call me after he finishes with his work. My appointment was 1:00 - 4:00. The technician called me at 4:27 saying that he finished, and started to drive to my house. I told him it will take 10 ish min as well to get to my house. he called me 4: 43 saying that he was at my house. I told him that I am only one exit a way from my house, the traffic is bad. He said " no I cannot wait. you need reschedule. or find someone else." I begged him " I am very close, give me some time..." he said no... I called customer service back... then he called me right way: "so you called my company and complain? you are such a liar, you told me 10 min..." I told him that calling me a liar was not acceptable, and I hang up. then he texted me saying " I was going to come back but you hung up on me. have a good day.".... I understand the company can only provide a service window, however, if the service window is 4 hours, it should be ok to call the next customer 30 min before or any time they request to call , right? by the way, I made it home at 4:59. I checked my security camera, he arrived at our house 4:37, and left after 8 min..... if he can call me 30 min before he finished his last job, I would have made it. by no means, calling a customer a liar is not right. read more

We called Frigidaire to repair our dishwasher. They assigned the job to Browne's. We were very pleased to have Browne's come in our home because of so many positive feedback online, The initial appointment setup was painless. Lynette was so professional and helpful. She even called us to confirm our appointment the next day. We called back the day of the appointment to confirm that someone will be home. Our appointment was between 0800- 1200. Unfortunately, my phone ran out of battery and I have missed a call from the Browne's. I immediately called Lynette and she stated that Chris, the technician and apparently the manager, had gone to a different job and we had to reschedule. This is unacceptable because we have standing water building up in our dishwasher for a week now and the house is starting to smell funky. I told Lynette to have Chris call me asap. When Chris called, he stated that he understood that we are frustrated at this point. I addressed our issues to him and immediately cut me off while I was speaking. He started to become angry once I addressed how unsatisfied we are. We were expecting accommodations for the miscommunications between both sides that maybe someone can come later in the afternoon. After he cut me off, he started his rant about me "telling him to do his job!" and that he "does not tell me how to do my job!" Furthermore, he said he will file a complaint against me as a customer and hung up right after. We were looking forward to do business with this company. We believe this is not a consistent problem and that it's just a miscommunication between a contractor and client. I'm giving them two stars because they did what they were supposed to do but I've never met service personnel who show up with such a defeatist attitude. From the moment they arrived, they were negative stating things like "if these work, why are you getting rid of them?" (is that any of your business?) and "these can't be stacked" (they could and they were) and "you don't have feet so we can't balance them" (the feet were on the pedestals and we told them this, they argued, and then found them.) Then, when the stacked unit wouldn't fit into our space (totally our fault) the one guy was extremely rude about us not measuring - dude, we didn't have them until recently and without the pedestals, we couldn't really measure them. That's on us, but you don't berate your customers like that. Would never use them again nor recommend them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! The owner Chris is unprofessional and rude. He refused to take responsibility for the damages done to my property when his technician came out to try and remove our washing machine to get serviced. Tech broke the valve handles which are needed to close them shut then left hose loose which caused water to leak and flooded our laundry room. Owner Chris was unaware of the leaking and while on the phone with him proceeded to yell at his receptionist Leilani since it was the first time he heard about the leak. When i asked for them to replace the valves and send someone to come make sure there was no moisture in walls he refused. He agreed to replace the valves but not pay for a plumber to install them(which according to them was needed). Then said he was not responsible for the leak that caused the flood in our laundry room. All in all I would say take caution when hiring them. Only reason they came to service my washing machine was because they were assigned by assurant our extended warranty company. Sadly I did not check their reviews before letting them come in my home. Definitely lesson learned and legal action will be taken. read more

Called Browne's after having another company repaired my refrigerator on 8/28/2019. Chris came to the house on 10/19/2019. Upon looking at the freezer area he said the fan had broken again. He did not have the part in his truck needed to order. The part would be in Monday or Tuesday. Got a call Tuesday afternoon that the part was in and he would be at the house by 5 pm to install. After installing the part he found another problem the drain was blocked. That issue was cleared and Chris went on his way. We had our stove repaired and couldn't be happier with the customer service here. Chris was on the phone several times with LG trying to get our work order and parts information squared away when LG sent the wrong part. Even though it took longer to repair it wasn't because of Brownes appliance and we really appreciated that they kept us informed in the process and got it taken care of. Kenneth came out to replace the glass in our stove and he was very friendly too. They do call before they come to confirm someone will be at the house so do make sure you have a working phone with battery life. I read a few reviews about customers phones dying and missing calls so the technician didn't come out. Not something to blame the company for. I had a 3 yeaar old Frigidaire front load washer that needed repaired. Frigidaire recommended Browns. I called them and Nat, there tech was to come out between 8:00am-noon, didn't show up then 1:00pm-3:00pm still didn't show up finnaly at 4:00p.m. He looked at it and called Frigidaire help line. And finnaly decided that it was the control board and motor costing $259.00. I decided i just didn't want to put that much money into a 3 year old washer. So i went and bought a new LG for $650.00 And a friends father who tinkers wanted the old one for the motor. He took it home and got to looking at it and relized it had an error code of E47 and inside the washer is a booklet with the codes which said it was a door switch costing $65.00. He changed that. And mind you he is not a washer repair man. Just a retired old man. The washer works perfect. But unfortunatly it does not do me any good since i had all ready bought a new washer. So he gave it to his daughter. I called Browwns appliance and they did refund my $69.00 service call fee. Which was nice of them but i am still upset that i spent so much money on a new washer that if there tech knew what he was doing could of been fixed for under a hundered dollars. read more

I'm always wary of appliance repair outfits, as I generally feel that I'm being taken advantage of - and as I'm lacking in any kind of handyman skills I have to rely on them regularly. However, I couldn't be happier with Browne's Appliance. They were recommended by LG to service our front-loading clothes dryer. They showed up on time, called beforehand to make sure we were home.
