We were so excited to have a Brown's Chicken nearby. We used to go to them back when we lived in Chicago.
We went to this location a few times. The inside is sub par but we enjoyed the chicken.
On Monday July 27th, we went online to the Brown's website and ordered a pickup order ( not through door dash, directly from Browns) . We placed the order at 5:25 PM. It said it would be ready by 6 PM
The area suffered from severe storms earlier that afternoon, our home lost power and we decided to order out.
When we arrived at 6 PM it was dark inside and the doors were locked. We left a voicemail immediately, but no one returned our call.
We called again today and gave the associate our order number. She was extremely rude. She first said oh this order was made inside the store and picked up. We told her no, we have an online confirmation and it was placed online, and was never picked up because the doors were locked. The associate then says no we were here, the doors were not locked, the lights were just out.
Here's my question, how could the lights be out, but they supposedly were open? Even if they were open, I would be very concerned if they were going to serve food with no electricity. So either they can't admit they were closed due to the outage and either refund us or give us the same meal we paid for, or they were open (with the door locked) and serving food without having electricity. Either way this is sketchy!
So very disappointed, we will now have to drive an hour away to another location if we want to have Brown's Chicken again!! read more
