    Breakfast Sandwich

Beaver County has really been surprising me lately! I was so happy to find out that Brown Bear Bread Co. had moved into the old Foodland building in New Brighton. Also a transplant from Pittsburgh, I grew up in NB, it's amazing to see folks moving their businesses into a town that's gone through many changes over the years. Brown Bear loves the community and I'm glad that the community loves them back. The owner, Kate is an awesome person and you can tell that she loves what she does. It is great seeing a woman owned business just put down roots, and bloom so beautifully. This is definitely what Beaver County needs! I tried to not buy everything, unlike the gentleman ahead of us, who took all the peanut butter cookies! I don't blame him, they looked yummy. We settled on breakfast sandwiches, the Philly Special (this weekend only!) a loaf of Italian, some brownies and I had to physically stop myself from grabbing more. If you don't go grab their Philly special tomorrow, you'll regret it. Go here, tell them @eatnperk sent ya, and they'll probably charge you extra. Happy Eating!

Corned beef hash with multi grain. Where's the beef?

Interesting little place. Liked the atmosphere with the nice wooden tables and the wall still has some tile and other parts of some older previous establishments that had occupied this location. Ordered at the counter. Looked at the menu and notice a sign stating that the special was Corned Beef hash with multi grain bread and ordered that. Notice shortly after my order the sign was taken down. When my plate came out was surprise at the scarcity of beef, mostly potato and egg on top. Maybe they should have let me know so I could change my order or maybe they put a tiny tiny amount of beef in their hash.

I didn't love this place but we also went pretty late on a weekend and many things were sold out. There was no one there when we went but they usually are packed on the weekends from what we hear. We tried the cinnamon bun and the breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich used their homemade English muffin which was pretty good but it was standard and pretty pricey for what it was. The cinnamon bun was just heated up in a microwave and wasn't very good at all. It tasted pretty cold still and the yeasty texture you want from a bun wasn't there. I'd definitely try it again earlier in the day. The space is really nice here and we loved the plant and wood vibes inside. Pretty cute spot in Mt. Oliver.

The Brown Bear Bread Cafe is a phenomenal cafe located in the Mt. Oliver neighborhood. Restaurants like Brown Bear Bread Cafe cause you to take notice and they bring droves of people to less frequented neighborhoods like Mt. Oliver. I'm not sure I've ever even heard of Mt. Oliver until I came across Brown Bear Bread Cafe, and now I won't be able to forget it! Nestled on a busy street in Mt. Oliver, upon entering the cafe, you are welcomed with a large wooden door that effortlessly shows you the fun, natural, and somewhat funky aesthetic of the cafe. The owners used some of the natural, exposed walls that creates an urban vibe within the cafe. With the kitchen on the 3rd floor, there's seating on both the 1st & 2nd floors both allowing for a quaint and cozy vibe. Their menu is small but mighty. The cafe has brunch at 10 AM but opens at 8. They male their own bread and pastries in house, and they are always concocting new bread creations. All the food that we tasted was an explosion of flavors that was diverse and complex. A meal that may sound so simple at the Brown Bear Bread Cafe ends up being creative, well seasoned, and like nothing you've ever had before! Here's what my husband & I had: [The Big Pig]: This sandwich was a special but made it to the permanent menu, and I now know why. This sandwich was bursting with flavor from the bacon scallion cream cheese to the spicy syrup to the sausage and bacon bits. This sandwich has it all and more than what you even knew you needed. [Sweet Potato Hash]: This hash is so good that I could eat it every day. It's perfectly seasoned with a mix of onions and kale. I loves everything about it, even sharing it with my husband! I cannot wait to go back here and try some of their new specials. They also started selling bagels again in the cafe. What can't this cafe do?!?

Five of us stopped by last Friday around 11:30am. You ordered at the counter, take a number, and then they bring you your food. Our food came out pretty quickly which was great because we were hungry. The menu is pretty small but really good. We loved our breakfast sandwiches and the stuffed French toast was delightful. The space was also really cute. They have downstairs area that had a handful of people sitting at the tables with some working from home. There is also an upstairs area I didn't get a chance to see but was told it's open on weekends and packed during those days.

I submitted a custom cake order for my daughter's 3rd birthday and Brown Bear Bread Co. nailed it. I needed a princess-themed cake, provided them with minimal details, and was not disappointed. I also snagged a cookie and a few cinnamon rolls that were delicious. Can't wait to come back for brunch!

To start, this was some of the best service I had ever received. The absolute sweetest people, quick service, and incredible food made this an easy 5 stars. It was well decorated, cute merchandise, and lots of goodies to take home. Everything was homemade and you could taste that. 100% recommend Brown Bear!!! P.S. They are open, just located New Brighton now!

Finally made my way to Brown Bear Bread Cafe for brunch and I quickly realized they have some of the best breakfast in the city! We started with a cinnamon roll, which had excellent cream cheese frosting and was huge! For my meal I had the simple breakfast with scrambled eggs & cheese, English muffin, bacon and home fries. Everything was so fresh, flavorful and tasty. The bacon stole the show! The Mrs. had the stuffed French toast which she really enjoyed too. The sweet cream cheese, berry compote and whipped cream were all great and this is definitely something we would order again. They are preparing to move, so if you are close by and have been waiting, now's your chance! Go give them a try and grab some fresh bread to go too!

Such a cute new addition to the neighborhood! Brown Bear Bread Cafe makes fresh bread, pastries, and sandwiches. They also have flavored butters to go with the bread. I had sourdough with zesty herb butter and it was so good! I can't wait to go back and try the other flavors. I also got a cheddar biscuit and it was delicious. The space is very cute, the owner is very friendly, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend Brown Bear Bread Cafe!

Made it to Brown Bear Bread Cafe last Saturday and it totally exceeded my expectations! We got there a few minutes after they started serving brunch and were immediately seated (I'd go early though). I had the Fall Hash which is a MUST TRY! All ingredients were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My friend had the stuffed French Toast and we split a cinnamon roll - not too sweet, both were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. I also got English muffins and a giant, beautiful ciabatta to go (it smelled so good I couldn't resist). Will definitely be back to try everything!

Soooo yummy. I want to buy all the breads and baked goods but highly recommend the English muffins. The staff was kind and service was quick, plus it's so cute inside. The breakfast sandwich was outstanding and I will be back!!

Yes yes yes yes, everything about this place is a YES. I had never heard of it and was driving by and decided to stop and I walked in to a wonderland. Cutest decor and the best smells ever. I was seated immediately (go early. It fills up fast!!!). I ordered the biscuits and gravy and *chef's kiss* it was incredible. Menu is small but I guarantee there's not a bad thing on it. The staff is also the nicest ever and so helpful. Honestly I don't think I've ever seen people be so kind to their customers. Give it a try and you won't regret it.

Took a Sunday drive to get some breakfast. We arrived at 8am to find out brunch starts at 10am. This is totally my fault, I didn't read too clearly. Since we took the drive we decided to get a loaf of sour dough and go home and make our own breakfast. The owner was so amazing and gave us her card to let us know she can do orders for bread but needs 48 hours notice. The sourdough is just amazing. I have no problem driving over here to get some bread and great service.

My partner and I constantly reference our visit to this café, as a joke, because it was the worst…read morecustomer service experience of our lives. After reading some of the reviews here, clearly we're not the only ones. Here's our horrific, and hilarious, experience: We wandered in during Beaver County Boom, and when the owner, Jonathan, saw us enter, he turned to what appeared to be an employee and said, "You have to make the customers feel like they interrupted you doing something really important," and proceeded to sarcastically roll his eyes at us, saying we were interrupting their philosophical discussion about the Catholic church--we hadn't even been greeted yet. I thought this was quite the bold gamble to play on his part, since he had no idea if we would play along or be offended with the "joke". At first, I did play along because I love a good bit. But instead of taking our orders, he proceeded to ask us very personal questions for the next half-hour, such as where we lived, what we did for work, and (my) ethnicity... This guy is a nut. At one point, he said to my partner, "Don't worry, you'll grow out of the hipster look in a few years," with a laugh. He pointed to the only Black person in the mostly empty café and called them "Black Mamba", and as we saw two Black women approach the café from the window, he said, "Here come my chocolate queens!" (He is 100% visibly white. I am a person of color writing this.) He and his wife had a cooler of Angry Orchards (alcohol) sitting on the counter, and they offered some to us for completely free. We were already weirded out, so we declined. After my partner had finally ordered his drink, Jonathan pressured me into getting a drink as well, even though I already had one from another business. I had a Joe's Tea, and Jonathan guilt-tripped me by saying I wasn't supporting small businesses until I ordered a smoothie. When someone else started leaving the café, Jonathan yelled, "Wait, where are you going?!" and the girl nervously answered, "I might be back later," before she left. During our unwanted, hostage-style conversation, Jonathan acted like the musical expert in the room despite my partner and I sharing that we both hold degrees in music, and would only speak directly to my partner about it even after my partner tried to loop me into the conversation several times. When Jonathan started in on Eminem and cancel culture, we finally bowed out. The drinks were pretty good, not gonna lie, but do not go unless you're welcoming this kind of experience! It does make for a good laugh
