I was in town today to meet up with some olds friends. I asked about a nice place for breakfast. They told me about Hash and Smash. I love discovering nice little gems to eat around the country. Truthfully one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a long time. The waitress was really sweet and polite. Love the way it's decorated. Reminds me of the old fashioned diners I visited growing up with my parents. The only downside is how long I had to wait for my breakfast. Eggs, bacon and hash browns. Does the line cook always take so long to put out the food. I'm talking about, I waited 25 minutes. And the restaurant was slow at the time. read more

Went in for breakfast. It was not very busy when we arrived, but quickly filled up after we finally ordered. Took a while to get our water to drink, had to ask twice. The waitresses were very open about not having enough staff, so at least we were warned, it would take longer than normal. I don't remember what I ordered, but it was one of the hashes. It was very tasty, unfortunately never got refilled on my coffee. Had to ask for the check because they were shortstaffed and now every table was full. For the price that they're charging, I don't think I would be back. It was a tasty breakfast, but certainly not worth the prices. read more

Arriving around noon on a Sunday, we found the outdoor seating full, but we were seated immediately inside. First impression was positive. It is decorated with nostalgic items, flea market finds, and a Lambretta motorbike in the front window. The service was appropriate for a nearly full house. Coffee was good and hot. I had the Hash and Smash breakfast. Listed as: Hash, plus a smash burger, and a fried egg, with house smash sauce. Even though I mistakenly assumed that the "Hash" part was corned beef hash, it was actually smashed tater tots. Everything was drizzled with their Smash Sauce, which tasted like Yum Yum sauce to me. I thought it was quite good. My partner had the Meat Lover Omelet with hash browned potatoes and toast, which garnered a very good rating (half went home). At $29+ tax and gratuity, the total check was just slightly on the pricey side. All things considered, I would recommend this establishment. Sunday morning 8 am. Ambiance was cute and clean. Waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes , avocado smash, and Rye toast. The toast was cold. After hearing great comments about Hash and Smash I wanted to give them a try. We decided to stop in for lunch and it was slow, maybe three other tables when we arrived. Immediately got seated and drinks, then after a few minutes we placed our orders and waited. Two other tables arrive and get seated, the cook comes out and explains to the table next to ours that he didn't like the look of the plate and apologized for the time and was remaking the order. Fifteen minutes goes by and one of the tables that came in after we placed our order received their meal. Then the table next to ours with the mistake received their food order. Now, I ordered the Hash Smash Hash, a simple plate which sounded interesting. What I got was smashed deep fried tater tots with a greasy egg over easy, a frozen burger patty with no seasoning. Topped with thousand island dressing and served barely warm. Now, I was told by friends how great these burgers are. Sadly enough, an unseasoned frozen burger patty that is not smashed at all is a complete disappointment. We had the smash plate, grilled cheese and fries, a coffee, and a soda which costs over $30 and burping grease all day. As cute as this place was decorated, it is definitely not worth the money for the lack of quality. read more

Middle of the pack, a master of none, consistent in both good and bad aspects. The food is good, nothing special but good, not too greasy and the coffee is not weak. A considerable amount of choice and doesn't falter on the delivery across the menu. Service is questionable, three of the workers seemed like it was their first day. Swearing coming from the kitchen, what seems to be a tense working environment. I've also ordered delivery from this location two times. Both times I have shown up to pick up my food at the time given (25 minutes after order) show up to a half seated restaurant and they haven't even started on the order. Extremely frustrating as I would pay double if it's on time. Overall an okay brunch spot if you don't mind slow service, however with Waffles Inc across the street it might fall on the back burner for me in the future. read more

I love this place. Its clean and bright and they grind Nicholas coffee fresh for every pot. The Sausage Barley Mushroom soup was top quality and the Bone broth was soooo tasty and Healthy! They told me it was made from local Milkhouse Meats products which are of very good quality. They made it special for the cold parade night. I ordered the chorizo hash, and others at our table got the gyro hash and cheeseburger hash. We also had a pancake. All of them were very good. The portions are large, and there's a lot of value for the price. Everything was fresh and made-to-order. Also, the staff was very accommodating with my 18 month child. Friends and I decided to go out to breakfast after our Friday 6 am Bible study group. First time I have eaten there. I LOVE biscuits and gravy so I decided to try theirs with 2 eggs over easy, shredded hash browns and a side of 2 sausage patties. Biscuit was large and cut in half. Gravy was INCREDIBLE, nice taste of pepper as well as a very nice sweetness to it. Eggs were perfect, hash browns had a nice crunch to them and the sausage patties were excellent. Service was perfect, filled coffee cups (and my iced tea) very efficiently. I look forward to trying more of their menu very soon. read more
