I think the owner is the smartest health and nutrition person I've ever met. EVERYTHING and I mean everything in this unique foodery is healthy, nutritious, and delicious. I would say the smoothie bowls are to die for...but they're actually to LIVE for! You get to pick your own base, fruits, and toppings! And they're huge! I usually can't eat all in one setting. I hesitate to even tell you about the amazing sugar and gluten free muffins and treats they have because then there may be less for me! They even have a rewards system to earn free smoothies! I've been wanting to stop in here for a while because I heard good things about the place and also because I work close by. Despite the freezing cold, I decided to give it a go on my lunch break today. Now, the place is cute and there is a menu board which lists all of the different juices, juice shots, and smoothies. I decided ahead of time that I would get a Refresh Smoothie, which consists of basil, blueberries, spinach, chia and bananas. I prefer fresh tastes and fruits over cream or a sweet-tasting drink. It did take the lady a few minutes to make, which I expected. But it took even longer because she stopped in the middle of making my drink in order to pay the window washer. Yes, someone was washing windows and it is 9 degrees outside. So, for that, by all means, pay the man and I'll wait cause I sure as heck am not washing windows in these frigid temps. I have to admit that the drink was delicious and tasted extremely fresh. However....I simply cannot get over the prices in comparison to the size of the drinks. I did comment that I thought the cup sizes (just small or large) were rather, well, small. A small drink is about 9 - 10 ounces (I'm guesstimating). The lady explained the whole organic / holistic / no GMO's sugars or gluten concept to me, which I totally get and appreciate. However....still expensive in my book. A small smoothie is $4.50 plus tax. A large is $8.25-$8.50. I got a small because 1) again, the price and 2) I wasn't sure if I'd like it. The other thing is that I did look in advance and saw that their facebook page stated that a large Refresh smoothie was $5.75. Well, in my experience, it seems like whatever your advertised price is, is what you should pay. Not my fault that it wasn't updated, right? She explained that they are designed to be 1 to 3 days and you can eat a salad or veggie soup, not just the juice. I asked what do you get? how much is it? Well, I should have known. I was told you get one large sized glass of cleanser for the day (so like twice the size of a small) and it's $50 per day. What?! I'm thinking that this just isn't my thing. Maybe it's just me being cheap, idk. But, at any rate, I thought about giving this place 2 stars. But honestly, it's clean, it's got a good concept, and my drink was tasty. This place gets nothing but love from me! I have tried a variety of items on the menu and I loved everything I've ordered. In particular, the Pink Elephant and Belle's Berry might be my favorite, but the smoothie bowls are also very good and offer a nice array of toppings. Everything is so fresh and the flavors are well balanced. Plus, they have incentives and savings for customers who bring in their own reusable cups/jars and straws! I love environmentally conscious businesses, especially small local ones that I can support in my own town. They also offer a rewards program that earns customers a free smoothie or coffee for every 10 points/stars, which are earned from each purchase. Some people might be discouraged from trying this place because the prices are steeper than your average cafe, but it's worth every penny for the quality of fresh organic produce in all of their products. All products are made right in front of you with whole, raw, organic, gmo free food. If you have a large order always call ahead. Her juices cleanses are amazing. She also has some really cool classes for the community to learn about new things. If you find her products a little pricey, keep in mind this is all fresh, raw, organic, and GMO free. Everyone is willing to waste there money on an over priced drink from Starbucks that you get nothing but empty calories, and maybe a short lived pick me up. I frequent The Green Berry quite often and it is always fantastic! The staff is friendly and the store is very cute. I haven't found a smoothie I don't love, and even my toddlers love to try something new every time they go in! The staff is very knowledgable and always answer any nutritional question that I have.
