Wedge Salad

In Midway and stopped in with friends for lunch. Two of us shared the grouper fingers. Hot and crisp. And the fried green tomatoes. Didn't particularly like their bouged up version with small bits of shrimp and balsamic. Just give me good ol' fashioned fried green tomatoes. 104

I love Midway and this is a great choice for lunch. My favorites are the Club Sandwich and The Kentucky Hot Brown. The Mornay sauce is delicious and I love that they put ham on the Hot Brown. It is one of my favorite Hot Browns anywhere. The portion size is perfect for me -not too much and not too little. The Blind Squirrel has rare and collectible bourbons for sale and they have a wide selection for drinks.

Hot brown and house salad

Good casual place to eat. Had pork medallions and hubby had hot brown. Both were good. We're looking for restaurant with outdoor seating which it has but nothing great. Ca sit outside on front porch but dirty and seating needs to be upgraded. Waitress was new but OK. Meals came out before salads and took a long time to get drinks. Went early and Not that busy. Festival in town so may have impacted.

Ribs and grouper fingers

The ribs were the absolute best I've ever had. Highly recommended. They were succulent falling off the bone. Super soft and juicy. We couldn't stop raving about them. Grouper fingers were also a hit. Young waitress was very friendly as well.

Staff is friendly and helpful. This is a good place for dinner. I started with the fried green tomatoes. Last time they were amazing. But this time they were cut very thick and not cooked very much. My catfish was good with crispy tots . The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The hot brown was good. The midway restaurant is nice inside with a good bourbon collection. I believe it's better than Frankfort.

We hit the Brown Barrel for lunch with some friends. The restaurant has a big outdoor patio and a section of the restaurant with big doors that were open. We sat in the quasi outdoor area because it was beautiful out. There were lots of TVs showing different college football games which was nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We tried the Loaded Brown Barrels, potato skins, and the Fried Banana Peppers, all were delicious! I have to say the Brown Barrels were amazing though. Some of the food we had were the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries, the fish and chips, and a build your own burger. Everything was good. The Nashville Hot Chicken had great flavor with just enough heat to not be too spicy. The coleslaw was good but there was only a small amount on the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were good too. My friend that had the fish and chips said the fish was seasoned perfectly and it was lightly battered so it wasn't greasy. The burger was good and just what my friend wanted. The beer was cold and the cocktail drinks were made well. If you are in Midway and are looking for good food, great service and a nice atmosphere, I recommend checking out the Brown Barrel!

The food was fabulous! The restaurant was crowded and noisy but we had only a short wait for an inside table for two. Outdoor tables were present, but our wait would have been longer. Hubby had been here before and wanted me to have the experience as well. His house salad was generous and tasty, and the ravioli with chicken was delicious. The wedge salad exceeded my expectations given that it starts with flavorless iceberg lettuce! The addition of the dressing, cheese, tomatoes, and bacon enhance the crunch of the lettuce and provide good flavor. The piece of catfish was huge and I took half of it home for a future lunch. That meant I needed to save some of the mashed potatoes, but that wasn't so hard due to the generous salad. We will definitely return for another experience.

Food was good. Was really busy when we were there. Took a little time to get a waitress but once she came, she was great.

Excellent food. We had the Brown Barrel appetizer and loved it. I had the fried Shrimp and my husband had Walleye fish. Both was very good.

Are those lobster tails in the picture? How much?

I didn't see lobster on the menu... could have been a special one day though.

This is a great place to get a great meal, a cocktail, and leave satisfied. The place is so cool…read more Brick and iron at its best. The charm of old tables with mismatched chairs, even a bench made from an old bed headboard. The staff is great. Quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The bar is huge. Bottles upon bottles. Then there is the food. Locally sourced and cooked to order. My mom ordered the catfish. It looked delicious and she ate every bite on the plate. My breakfast bowl was absolutely perfect! Potatoes roasted to perfection with awesome hot sausage with eggs cooked to order and covered in the best sausage gravy that I have ever had! Note: I love sausage gravy and have eaten it all over the country. Bravo to the chef! We will be back!

Reviewing Local Feed is surprisingly difficult…read more The first challenge wasn't even the restaurant. Ongoing road construction around the area made parking an absolute disaster. We ended up parking at a nearby closed business because it was the only option available, and honestly, we were lucky not to get towed. We nearly turned around and left before ever walking through the door. Once inside, things improved immediately. The rustic brick interior, mismatched tables and chairs, and relaxed atmosphere made a great first impression. We were greeted and seated right away. Before visiting, I had already looked at the menu online, and as a party of three we tend to order family style. We order whatever sounds good and share everything. Local Feed had posted their seasonal specials online, so we already knew what we wanted before arriving. Unfortunately, service was where the experience started to fall apart. It took longer than expected for our server to stop by the table, so we placed our food order immediately when she arrived. I asked about the seasonal and rotating draft beers, but she couldn't tell me what was available and suggested that I go look at the bar. That was the first red flag. When I got to the bar, there was no bartender present. After waiting a bit, I returned to the table expecting my server to come back for our drink order, but she never did. Later, another employee appeared behind the bar, but he explained he was serving a different section and told me to speak with my server. Eventually, a third employee helped me get our drinks and even made sure they were added to our tab after noticing which table we were seated at. The food, however, was outstanding. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, beef lettuce wraps, brisket poutine, and a chicken sandwich. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. In fact, I jokingly said, "Of course the food would be great." That's what makes this review so difficult. The food was easily 5 stars. The service was closer to 1 star. Averaging those together lands me at 3 stars overall. Despite the service issues, I would absolutely give Local Feed another try. The food quality and atmosphere show that this place has a lot of potential. If our service experience was simply an off day, I could easily see why others might rate it 5 stars.

A World-Class Dining Experience in the Heart of Georgetown, Kentucky!…read more We've traveled the world and enjoyed some of the finest restaurants across the globe and throughout the United States. Every once in a while, we discover a restaurant that delivers something truly exceptional. Rodney's on Broadway is one of those rare finds! Our visit came after a particularly challenging travel day filled with flight delays and rental car complications. We were exhausted and ready for an outstanding dinner. After discovering Rodney's on OpenTable, we decided to give it a try. What a remarkable decision! From the moment we arrived, the beautifully restored 1840s home welcomed us with its warmth, elegance, and historic charm. The atmosphere immediately set the stage for a wonderful evening. Our server, Nikki, was absolutely extraordinary. Despite a packed restaurant and numerous tables to manage, she was warm, attentive, gracious, and incredibly knowledgeable. She effortlessly recited Chef Rodney's extensive list of mouthwatering specials, followed by an equally impressive selection of desserts and drinks. Her professionalism and genuine hospitality rivaled the finest service we've experienced anywhere in our travels. And then came the food! The lobster bisque was simply the best we've ever tasted. My wife's surf and turf was prepared to perfection, and my trout was absolutely sensational. Every dish demonstrated the care, creativity, and culinary excellence of Chef Rodney and his team. We finished with Chef Rodney's crème brûlée, which was, without question, the finest we've ever enjoyed. An extraordinary ending to an exceptional meal! To our delight, Chef Rodney personally visited our table and took time to speak with us. That personal touch made an already memorable evening even more special. Rodney's on Broadway delivered far more than an outstanding dinner. It transformed an exhausting day into one of the most enjoyable dining experiences of our travels. Exceptional cuisine. Beautiful surroundings. Outstanding hospitality. And a server, Nikki, who truly represents the very best of her profession. If you're visiting Georgetown, Lexington, the Creation Museum, or the Ark Encounter, make Rodney's on Broadway part of your trip. It's worth going out of your way for. Our highest recommendation. We can't wait to return! Dan Lykken Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
