Th Pimento Cheese Burger

Love this place! On a beautiful Saturday afternoon it can be crowded but they accommodate! The line moves quickly and there is plenty of seating inside and out. Today the parking lot was full, but we didn't feel too crowded and we didn't have to wait too long. The country ham and pimento cheese sandwich is the one that was on the Best Things I've Ever Eaten on the Food Network and it is incredible. The bread is from the Midway School Bakery, and it is delicious. I highly recommend Recomended!

It doesn't get much more Kentucky than Wallace Station nestled in the heart of Kentucky horse country surrounded by thoroughbred horse farms. This is one of Chef Ouita's amazing restaurants. She sources all fresh ingredients from local Kentucky farms. I absolutely love Wallace station for their burgers. They were even featured by guy fieri for one of these such burgers. I also love their homemade desserts made by midway bakery just down the street. The lemon bar is truly the best one I've ever had. This restaurant has a small inside but pretty large deck to sit on outback and now they have a larger covered section. It's one of my favorites and I'd highly recommend it to locals and those traveling to Ky!

This was an impromptu stop for a late lunch, and Wallace Station did not disappoint! It was crowded inside due to a recent thunderstorm, but a table opened up just in time. Hubby ordered the Big Brown Burger with fries, one of Guy Fiero's top 5 burgers, and I had a panini-grilled County Ham and Pimento Cheese on whole wheat with orzo salad. Hubby said it was one of the best burgers he ever had! The fries were perfectly cooked too. My sandwich was very with sliced tomato inside. We finished the meal splitting a sorghum cookie; yum!

The store carries several treats that I can imagine my great grandmothers preparing for a budget-friendly dessert.

As with all the DDD Guy Fieri featured places, I tried what he had recommended here: The Big Brown burger was huge! The beef was well cooked. I personally would have been okay with a medium well patty. I only had a bite to sample the triple meat (beef patty, bacon, and ham. I like a fresh tomato on my burgers and the cheddar mornay was a delicious complement to the sandwich. The staff were friendly and helpful. What I enjoyed the most, and the reason I would come back is hands-down the deck patio surrounded by mature trees and a yard with a rustic, dilapidated barn. It was picturesque and reminded me of places my parents would have taken us on Sunday afternoon drives during my childhood. Adding perfection to my experience at Wallace Station was the live performance of my nephew and his wife, David Austin and Baylee Morgan.

Great neighborhood place! We've been here before. The food's great and the service is top shelf too. Check out our pics from this visit.

This place is located just outside of Midway, KY and is in the hear of Kentucky horse and bourbon country. They have a cute patio outside weather depending, The place was packed, despite that our came out quickly. I had the Merv's Ham and Jalapeño sandwich, consisting of roasted turkey, ham, bacon, tomato with a white cheddar mornay and my wife had the Wallace Cuba-no, which is made with a house slow cooked and KY ground pork with Swiss Cheese, dijonnaise, Pop's pickles then grilled with a garlic annatto butter. All the sandwiches come with either white, whole wheat or rye bread. We both went with the rye bread and each is served with potato chips. A great atmosphere with excellent service.

Inside Out Hot Brown

I cannot say enough good things! I'm visiting from Los Angeles with my partner and our two girls, 10 and 15. We wanted to drive through horse country and had discovered Wallace Station reading online about KY restaurants that have been recognized for their excellence. We found a Food Network reference for Wallace Station. From the friendly cashier who took our order (and gave recommendations on what to see on our drive) to the clean and well decorated dining room, to the delicious food, it was a great visit! We had 2 burgers, a club sandwich with the most delicious bourbon bbq sauce, and an inside out hot brown (our first taste of one) and wow - it was all perfection! Huge portions so we ended up with leftover half sandwiches which warmed up well later at dinner time. Definitely recommend - and couldn't ask for a more picturesque place to dine!

Fourth star for the country home attitude, and great service. DDD is too old and too long ago for the new workers to remember. But here is my story: as to the burger, the famous big brown burger that Guy Fieri says, "sits on his top five of burgers", I need to say that the jury is out on that. I didn't try it I saw it so it's unfair for me to make a comment, but from what I've seen, jury is out I had the inside out big brown wasn't bad wasn't anything to write home about Was my journey worth it? Well, it was a nice drive and I got here before the rain. I did notice that a lot of the local merchants consign their baked goods, and prepared items in the Wallace station for purchase. Keep that in mind they got some pretty neat stuff. Would I come back? Maybe if I'm passing to go to one of the distilleries in this area

This is such a cute place with tons of charm. Very unique experience. I came for lunch but I'll be back to try more items and spend more time here. There are some seats indoors and some seating outside - both metal tables in the deck and actual picnic tables in the yard under the trees. I tried the ham and pimento as recommended from the Food Network, it was a very messy sandwich but very delicious. There were several sandwich combinations on the menu that I'm very excited to try in the future. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped here because it's a DDD. Had the bean soup, cornbread and a chicken salad sandwich. Both were amazing. Has outside and inside seating.

A genuine back porch kind of view

Had the Santa Anita and a dessert. Both were great! I'd recommend this stop to anyone going through the Lexington area.

The chicken breast itself was exceptionally large, tender, and juicy perfectly fried the Nashville sauce on it was hot, but not too hot you know what I mean and the coleslaw wasn't runny and have too much mayonnaise. It was just a really good solid cold coleslaw. The brioche bun was excellent. My wife's Cuban sandwich was amazing and my mother-in-law's hamburger was very good as well. The only thing I will say is that the service from the young man that we had was just average. It took us a lot of effort, joking around with him, asking his suggestions and recommendations to get him to even smile I would suggest that he acts like he wants to be working and not come across to his customers like we're a bother to him. If that wouldn't have been the case, this would've been a 5+ star review.

Someone in Frankfort recommended we stop here for dinner on our way to Lexington, since it's on the…read moreway. The place was busy. Some kind of fairy festival going on in the area? There was no parking in their parking lot, so we had to drive down the hill and try our luck with street parking, then walk back up about 5-7 minutes to get into the restaurant. A bit of a pain, especially since the restaurant was only about 50% full. The host or person at the front desk was hiding - sitting on the floor on his phone. We had to lean over the counter to ask him to get up so we could ask him to seat us. He ended up being our server as well, after he literally argued with a coworker who walked up while we were inquiring about a table. "I just took the last two damn tables, isn't it your turn?" doesn't inspire confidence that you're a welcome guest. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown. When in Rome, right? The menu says you can get it with Mornay sauce or Kentucky Hot Brown sauce. I asked the waiter which was better - he said the Hot Brown sauce. Sounds great! It came out with the mornay sauce. It was still good, but I was a wee bit disappointed. My companions enjoyed their meals. I picked up a reasonably priced bottle of Sazerac Rye on the way out, since they didn't have any left at the distillery when I was there earlier in the visit.
