Don't agree with the hype and high reviews. Firstly, if you don't eat meat, you have seriously very few choices left. Ordered Salmon burger with extra spice. The front desk mentioned the burger comes right off-the-grilled, in other words : No customization! If the burger was cooked and sandwich prepared from scratch, adding extra spice should not be an issue. The salmon burger itself was mediocre...And these many high reviews, I definitely had higher expectations. So very disappointing. One less star for their weird hours. Looks like due to their limited hours, they only get their fans to visit and put (high) review. To me, NOT a place to revisit! read more

Brown Bag was highly recommended to me from a friend, unfortunately we will most likely won't utilize their services again. We take pride in serving quality food to our prospects and clients and were disappointed with Brown Bag. While the delivery was 10 - 15 minutes late, I understand traffic is unpredictable and uncontrollable. The quality of the products and food is another story. I declined the plastic forks as we have silverware on hand, I also declined the paper napkins, the were fast food quality at best. The chafing container was bent and wobbly with only one sterno can when two were needed to heat the entire chafing dish. The chicken and green beans, although room temperature were very good! The "macaroni and cheese" were cold, dry and had no flavor whatsoever. I added milk and water to them along with salt and pepper, they were unacceptable. They delivered rolls that were dry and butter wasn't delivered. Possibly, they were having a bad day, I'm not sure what the issues were, I do know we were not pleased. My go-to place for a "healthy" lunch with great service in Cool Springs! Each meal comes with a meat selection and two sides. My favorite part about this place is that you can get soup and salad as your sides! So far, I've tried the grilled chicken, teriyaki chicken and grilled steak entrees. They're all delicious, so you can't go wrong, but my favorite is the delicious marinated steak that's grilled to perfection. They also offer sandwiches, tacos, etc. As for the salads, they offer a chopped salad (my fav with croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese), the very popular berry salad (I just don't love spinach!), and southwest salad which also sounds amazing. I LOVE their homemade salad dressings. My favorites are the poppyseed with a wonderful kick of acid and the slightly spicy chipotle ranch, which is also great as a dipping sauce! You really can't go wrong! The mashed potatoes are rich, garlicky and full of delicious flavor. Everything they make tastes just like it was made in a modern grandmother's kitchen. And I totally mean that as a compliment! The soup! This has been my go-to on all of the recent cold days. Their chicken tortilla soup is BOMB. Super homemade and filled with delicious vegetables in a rich broth with chicken and topped with tortilla chips. You have to try it! I am so impressed with the service and food here! Stop in around any day around noon and you'll see for yourself! Sometimes it's hard to get a table, so I wouldn't recommend a large group eating here. They also do quite a bit of fantastic catering! We had an unexpected staff luncheon today and I needed great food for a dozen without much advance notice. Brown Bag is my new favorite lunch spot in Cool Springs. It's located in the strip mall adjacent to the one that has Chipotle in it, off Cool Springs Blvd. I liken it to a healthier version of a Meat & Three, only it's a Meat & Two! Their mission is delicious, healthy food at reasonable prices. You can get a protein and two sides (or sub one of those sides for a drink or dessert) for $8.50 or $9.50. They're open weekdays for lunch, 11am-2pm. Super smart given that's the Cool Springs busy time! I chose their chicken teriyaki and red skin mashed potatoes. I cleaned my plate! Portions were ample for the price, there are tons of combinations you can chose, and all of the food was well-seasoned and flavorful. Much more economical based on portions than the popular Whole Foods hot bar, and less work since you don't have to haunt the buffet. The other thing I like? From 2-5pm, you can pick up food to take home, specifically trays of protein portions, sides, and more. On a Friday, I had them pack me a tray of 1/2 chicken and 1/2 steak, and ordered some sides like baby spinach salad, grilled asparagus (for my husband), and the mashed potatoes. It felt like a great shortcut to doing some meal prep over the weekend! My husband LOVED the meals, even reheated. They usually only do catering orders for a minimum of 50 people on the weekends, but because they had other catering orders they were happy to accommodate my smaller event. I must say... I was pleasantly surprised with Brownbag. Typically, the more "health concious" a place is, the less seasoning they use. Brown Bag doesn't skip a beat when it comes to flavor. Food: I opted for the chicken sandwhich with jalapeno corn casserole and asparagus. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. Brown Bag dresses the sandwhich with provolone, caramelized onion, and horesradish sauce. Jalapeno corn casserole is the move! It actually has some sting to it, which I didnt expect. They allow you to text in your order in advance as they do have a lot of "to go" customers. A word of warning - they are very busy during rush times and the dining area is small. I know that my review is not as glowing as most of the others and I'm assuming that I went on an off day and hopefully I will update my review at a later date. At the time that I went, I was just getting over being sick so I was trying to eat a lot of fresh, healthy food to get my body back to 100% health. I ordered the chicken breast, mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The chicken was crazy dry, like so over cooked that I was dipping it in my mashed potatoes to try to get the chicken down. The mashed potatoes didn't have a lot of flavor but they were creamy. The roasted vegetables were pretty tasty so no complaints there. Service was really friendly and it was obvious that they get to know their regulars, which is really rare and really nice.
