While we waited the manager and staff apologized and made sure we didn't need anything while we waited. Once we were seated ordered and received our food hot and on time. Waitress was very attentive and the place overall just had a great vibe to it! They opened back up yesterday and we had dinner there for the first time. We were so hungry that we ended up ordering a ton of food: Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Button Mushrooms, Fried Pickles, Fried Mozzarella, Chicken Piccata, Sweet Carolina Chicken, Traditional Cheese Burger and a kid's Spaghetti and Meatball. I get it's tough times right now, but this place is a total ripoff now. The prices are way too high, and the waiter ended up messing the bill up by charging full price for a side salad, when it should have just been a small up charge, as the salad replaced the actual side the meal allegedly came with (and the waiter actually argued instead of admitting his mistake). It's edible, but not worth the price. The descriptions on the menu sounds so wonderful. Then you g eat the entree and it just doesn't taste as good as it sounded. It's either over or under cooked. There is something missing, or it's slopped on the plate. It's never quite right. The burgers are pre pressed, possibly frozen. Food was good and servings were good size. Only thing that wasn't great was getting the check, has 3 tip options- 20%, 22% or 25%. I get that inflation sucks but when your restaurant has raised prices 30% your tip, that is based on the check total, has also raised 30%. I'm not upping my standard 18% another 7% too! You got 30% more than you were before! Especially when you charged us $3.99 each for 2 sides that were supposed to be included with the meal. read more

Food only review would be a 4-5 star. My party of 3 dined here on a Thursday evening and took 2 hours from entry to exit. A 35 minute wait to be seated coupled with a 40 minute wait for food had me furious by the time our food was brought to the table. The food was great with the exception of the burger bun (toast) being burnt. Our waitress was great, but the rest of the service sucked!!! read more

Brother's is one of our favorites here in Young Harris where we live. We had lunch there last week and had another AMAZING experience! We had a FANTASTIC waiter, Owen, who was so very friendly, very attentive, answered all our questions, and overall was a FANTASTIC server. We chatted for awhile about his schooling, etc and had such a nice experience! We had my father-in-law with us who will be 95 next month! And of course, the food was EXCELLENT as always! Have eaten here multiple times. Each time was pretty great. I've had burger, salmon, and filet tips. All were outstanding. I especially love their fried green tomatoes--the best I've had from a restaurant! Prices are fair, service is good, food is very good and the atmosphere is nice. We saw this place place on the side of the road when we were trying to find our hotel and it seemed to be the "happening place." The parking lot was jam packed and there seem to have been people waiting outside. We came back a little later to eat there. Food is decent American fare. I had the ribs, which were well cooked and tasty! I didn't care for the canned vegetable side, though. The only criticism I had was that my dinner was served before the appetizer came out. The waitress said the appetizer would be out shortly. Uhm... no, thanks! I don't need an appetizer AFTER my entree. If I'm back in this area, I would be very likely to stop by here again. read more

Came on Saturday night for our anniversary dinner. Got seated immediately and ordered onion rings for an appetizer. Outstanding onion rings! Our server, Kendra, was so sweet and attentive. My husband ordered orange-pecan trout and I had the petite filet mignon. The only complaint I would give dinner was my baked potato was not freshly baked, but otherwise it was THE best steak I've had in years! After dinner Kendra brought us some bread pudding with ice cream on the house and I was very thankful there were no servers standing around us singing and clapping, lol. The food is okay, and American, so if you're dealing with some eaters who aren't (or aren't feeling) adventurous, you'll probably do okay here. We made the mistake of going on a night when they were incredibly busy, and the '25 minute' wait turned into an hour. Seated near the hostess stand to wait it out, it was clear the staff were not prepared for such crowds, though they remained friendly in the face of people who were about to riot if they weren't seated soon. And, it probably didn't help that seemingly 3 out of every four parties was for six or more people. When we finally were seated, with apologies, the server came and immediately took our drink order. The drinks (all non-al for our party) came promptly, and we placed our order. Table rolls arrived hot and quite delicious, with butter and honey butter. That definitely took the edge off, and we were content to wait for our food, which arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The food was okay, not great, not awful. I had the veggie burger, which was overwhelmed by the bun (and I *adore* bread), but otherwise fine. Our kids had chicken tenders, and they ate them without much comment, which means they were fine. :) The rest of the party's food was similarly okay, but we all remarked that we'd skip this place in favor of Moschetto's next time. If you're paying cash, you pay at the counter on your way out; otherwise, you pay your server. The service was fine, especially since, by the looks of it, they were understaffed for the crowds. They offer 'call ahead' service, but be warned: on a busy night like ours, it wasn't that much of an advantage if you had more than four people. There were 6pm call aheads who weren't seated by the time we were (6:45pm). Again, staff were as nice as they could be, but it probably would've been better if they were more skilled at judging wait times and delivering them honestly in order to best manage expectations. read more

Perhaps I just chose three times in a row to be there when the staff and kitchen was overwhelmed. I know people that enjoy eating here and have had a good experience. I just got back to Hayesville from meeting relatives for dinner at this restaurant. My wife and I have eaten here several times and had found the food to be acceptable if not incredible. This meal, however, left much to be desired. My wife had a grilled pork chop, steamed broccoli, and a side salad, which she enjoyed. My meal was considerably less satisfactory. I ordered the flat iron steak with a red wine glaze, pinto beans, and mashed potatoes. First of all, the good news-the mashed potatoes were delicious. Sadly, the pinto beans were practically tasteless and appeared to have come out of a can. (For anyone who enjoys good pinto beans, I recommend any one of the many Cracker Barrel restaurants in this great country!). Even worse was what apparently passes for a cut of steak at the Brothers restaurant. When I ordered the steak, the charming and attentive waiter said that was a popular choice and the menu identified it as a recent addition to the extensive menu. As usual, I asked that the steak be delivered in a "medium" cooked fashion. When I cut into the small piece of meat, I found it was rare rather than medium. The situation only worsened when I tried to eat it. The meat was tough and gristly and I finally surrendered after managing to eat only half of it. Having already given up on the pinto beans, I settled on the remaining serving of potatoes. A manager stopped at our table and asked about our meals. When I told him of my dissatisfaction, he smiled, said that there had been other complaints about the flat iron steak and they planned to remove it from the menu. He then wandered off to spread more cheer. I am deeply curious about his question as he apparently did not really care about the answer. Was he just taking a survey? I was not offered a substitute and the meal was not taken off the check. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will not be back. Neither will I be shy about sharing my experience with others. read more

I've ordered my last Fish and Chips from Brothers. $12.99 for 3 good pieces of fish and horrible fries, Cole slaw, & hush puppies. Today and a couple of weeks ago we informed the manager of how bad the fries were and both times they told us it is because they are fresh. They are soggy and look as though they are twice cooked. They are also warm at best. When you bend one of the fries the oil oozes out. The Cole slaw was so bitter I couldn't eat it. It must have had too much vinegar or it was off. The hush puppies are small and dry. Therefore, for 3 pieces of good fish it was approximately $4.30 per piece. Kind of pricey. I doubt I'll go back but if I do it will be for a salad or their fried green tomatoes. The worst fries in Towns County. read more

A pleasant surprise! Took an impromptu drive to the mountains after my husband and I got off early one Friday night. Decided we wanted to go to Young Harris Planetarium. Stopped here for dinner and was blown away! The location overlooks a beautiful mountain side. I recommend asking for a table next to the windows. Service was quick and very pleasant. We had Fried Green Tomatoes for our app and they were perfect! And Huge! Fresh and not frozen. We both ordered steaks, my husband the ribeye and myself the bacon wrapped filet.
