Showed up for an early dinner. Not many people were in the restaurant. Still, service was very slow. Our appetizer came out after our entree. When our entrees were brought to the table, we had no silverware. When we asked for silverware, the server said they were out of it. Ten minutes later he brought us a plastic fork and knife, but no napkins. Fortunately I was able to go to the bathroom and get paper towels. My meal was delivered to another table. The person had already taken a bite, but our server asked me if I was okay with taking it or would I want a different one. What?! Everyone at my table was finished eating by the time my sandwich was eventually brought to me. When a new sandwich finally came, it didn't have the fries I ordered. Ten minutes later, fries arrived. After I finished eating, it took another fifteen minutes to flag down our server and ask for our check so we could pay and get out of there. Really had a good time here! I have been before and only had drinks while playing pool, but the outdoor seating for lunch was lovely. My bestie and I had lunch and drinks, then sat by the fire. We were some of the only people out there and our server wore her mask without exception, so we felt totally safe and comfortable! Food Chicken quesadilla (8/10) - Plenty of food, could use more salsa with the chips. I asked for more and our server was super nice and brought more at no charge. Liked this meal a lot for a post-hike lunch! Pretzels and Beer Cheese App. (9/10). - Absolutely amazing pretzels and cheese, loved it. Just wish the quantity was a little larger for price! Chicken tender wrap (IDK) - Best friend got this, and enjoyed it very much! She ate the whole wrap and didn't have room left for chips. I didn't try it but she gave good rating! Drinks Moscow Mule: (8/10) * These folks let me choose vodka, rum, or gin, and I chose vodka. Man they did not waste my money with this one, it was stout! Kicked in after a few sips Flavor could have been a little better, maybe they substituted ginger beer for ginger ale? Still enjoyed it and would get again! Cherry Amaretto Sour (7.5/10) * Not my fav, but that's more on me than the bar! I am not a huge fan of super sweet drinks, and this one about gave me a sugar high. The taste was a bit artificial, but I am fairly certain just my personal taste was part of that. Wouldn't get again, tasted like there was minimal alcohol in it. My friend got something with "Beach" in the name and loved it! It looked super cute and yummy. We came here after hiking Brasstown Bald and had a great time. I love coming to Brasstown for their wonderful buffets! My last visit made the 12th time I have dined here and it was excellent as always. Our waitress Mary was great and so attentive. If you come for their Friday night seafood buffet there is a huge variety. The best things are the seafood salad, prime rib, and smoked salmon. When it comes to desert there is no shortage and they are always serving new items. The best dessert is definitely the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, it's unbeatable. Overall this is my favorite buffet of all time and it is very affordable for the wonderful quality and experience you get. We originally planned to eat in the main dining area on the main floor. However, it was closed for the day, so we decided to eat at the grill instead and still had a good meal at the resort. Two of our group ordered the prime rib panini, and both said it was good. Another ordered the fish (cod) and chips with onion rings and said that it was very good and commented that the onion rings were the best onion rings she ever had. The whole staff at Brassies should spend some time upstairs at the resort to gets some tips on hospitality. Everyone at the resort was welcoming and attentive with the exception of the three bartenders at Brassies who all seemed to be pissed off that they were at work. With five minutes left in the LSU vs Bama , which was a nail-bitter at that point, the bartender changed the channel to the Ga game that was just starting because "the people at the other end of the bar had been waiting a long time for it to start." Hell!, we had been there a while and we had a $210 tab at that point! Oh yeah, the reason for the high tab was that unbeknownst to me I was being charged $34 per drink! And to top it all off, the bartender called the manager over when she gave me my tab as if she thought that I was going to raise hell or skip out. Hats off the management of Brasstown Valley Resort who was shocked to learn that we were charged that much for drinks and who generously made good even after we told him that we just wanted him to be aware of the poor service. We will return to the Resort, as everything else from the friendly staff to beautiful atmosphere was wonderful. PS, Do yourself a favor and schedule a trail ride at the stables. read more

Very unfriendly here. I'm in retail and completely understand everyone is short staffed. But I also believe in communication. If you say hey,we are extremely busy and short staffed I understand. This is a golf bar--expect loud, drunk, ignorant golfers to spoil the atmosphere. If you walk in and it sounds like a shouting contest, just leave. The waitresses are worn out from the chauvinist drunk golfers (remember this is mountain redneck country), so dont expect any service pride. However, the fish and chips is really tasty and you have the legal right to tell the loudmouths to shut the fuck up so you can hear the TV. Although the food that I (eventually--after asking multiple times) got was decent, from the moment my friends and I walked in, the service was rude, slow, and disorganized. I never leave reviews, but I felt like this was warranted. Brassie's lets you seat yourself. When we arrived, all tables were taken, so we hovered in the doorway. One of the waitresses told us to move and "let people eat." While we might have been somewhat in the way of some of the wait staff, they did not offer a solution of how we should wait on a table. Busyness is no one's fault, but being rude and not attempting to help customers is very avoidable. Then, when we sat down, we ordered an appetizer and drinks. We were freezing, so we asked if we could move tables. Our waitress agreed, so we moved our drinks and menus to a table by the fire. This was great, but then all waiters forgot about us. After about 45 minutes, we finally got the attention of a waiter, and he took our order. We asked about our appetizer and he said he'd get it. About 30 minutes after that, we checked in and he said the food had 20 minutes until it would be done and that he had forgotten about our appetizer. After finally checking on the app, he said they were out of what we ordered (about an hour ago). He asked if we wanted a new app "on him." We agreed. About 20 minutes later, our food came out. No utensils or napkins. The replacement app came out 10 minutes after that. When he came back after a few minutes, he said, as if he was doing us a huge favor, "What I will do is not charge y'all for the original appetizer and this one won't be on the bill." We were confused because a) we would never pay for something we didn't receive and b) he told us it would be free or we wouldn't have agreed to the replacement appetizer. We had to ask for napkins, utensils, condiments (even though it came with the dish), and refills (multiple times). The manager was there but in the kitchen most of when we saw her. We didn't think it was worth chasing her down, but I was so disappointed in Brassies since Brasstown Valley Resort has been so nice. It's a cozy, cute place, so it's a shame that the service was so horrible. read more

We were here for two nights in late August. Both nights we had a different bartender and different servers. Both nights the bartenders and servers were very cordial, very friendly and very helpful. We were served the best quesadilla I have EVER had. The menu is somewhat limited but the kitchen is TINY so I understand. The hamburger was also good. Since this is just a bar and grill and not a full-service restaurant it does what it is supposed to do, serve good drinks and bar food. The property is owned by the state of Georgia so patrons have to understand that the managing company does the best it can with the budget the state gives it.(remember, we are talking politicians here. ) As far as state owned facilities go it is the best in the state of Georgia. Went in and went down to the bar to order some food for lunch. Having never been there before we thought to start with something simple. chicken nachos and a bowl of chili. Figured we would nibble while reviewing the menu. The nachos we terrible soggy chips, almost no cheese or much else other than the chicken which was not shredded as described. It was not real hot and was just a few big chunks of the last nights special. It is hard to screw up chili but this was some of the worse I have had. It was like they had a bucket of it in back and just skimmed some grease and thin liquid off the top without stirring. No substance and horrible taste. We just left at that point. We had 2 burgers, 1 hot dog and a chicken salad sandwich. The bread for each came straight from the refrigerator and was thus cold. The meat was seemingly cooked on a grill that needed cleaning as their was lots of burnt gristle on the burgers. I had the mushroom burger which had few mushrooms on it. Everything comes with chips fruit and fries are an up charge. The fruit side was large, but primarily consisted of fruit rinds. The fries were okay, but clearly from a box. After a day of pampering at the spa, we were hungry and stopped in for a late lunch. The view was the best part of the experience. We ordered the loaded tots and they were very greasy and lacked salt or any seasoning. The burger I ordered medium came out well done. The server , while sweet for duration of the meal, rudely waited by the table for my friend to fill out the tip and sign the bill, as they were doing a shift change. I have eaten at the fine dining restaurant and had no issues , but they should really revamp their grill menu for Brassies. read more
