My family and I have been going to brothers for at least 15 years. I got a jacket tailored to be a slim fit style. I got the jacket back and it was baggy. They told me after the fact that the jacket itself was too big to be made slim fit. I was out $70 and stuck with a jacket that didn't fit. I was unhappy and they didn't care and didn't offer to help. We came in on a Saturday and within minutes apart two sales persons asked us if we needed any "help". This was our first time visiting so we politely declined and said that we wanted to browse on our own. The store was relatively quite so we took our time and I tried on multiple suit jackets. After about 15 minutes an employee said that we couldn't look at suits anymore. Puzzled by this I asked what was going on. He said, "If you're not buying anything then leave the store." I was in shock and we felt mistreated! I understand that we didn't say what we wanted but that type of behaviour?? Completely embarrassed, I took of the blazer I was trying on and we left the store right away. You have lost a customer and I will let everyone know not to shop here. read more

I've never had custom or tailored clothing in my life, so it was with great trepidation I researched the options and came in to Brothers Tailors about 6 months ago. Peter took the time to listen to what I was looking for, explain all the options, and walk me through an order of 4 custom dress shirts. For someone who had seldom paid more than $40 for a shirt, this was a considerable leap, but I wanted to invest in my wardrobe before starting a new job in San Francisco. I'm so glad I did! The shirts are awesome, the fit is perfect, and I'm now a believer; I almost cringe whenever I have to wear my old off the rack shirts. I'm about to place another order with Peter and figured it was about time I write a review, as the shirts are as much a pleasure to wear 6 months later as they were the first time I put them on. My husband and I have taken a few items here to be altered and each time we're not disappointed. Most recently, I purchased a lace dress/romper which needed to be hemmed. The lace was very detailed and had a scalloped edge at the bottom. During my consultation, the seamstress said she didn't think we could save the scalloped edge because it wouldn't look good seen back on. I was okay with that but knew the dress wouldn't have the same look without it. I needed the dress back the next day for a trip to Vegas. The dress was done on time and the seamstress was able to save the scalloped edge and it looked perfect! Just like how it came when I purchased. I was very impressed! In a last ditch attempt at exhibiting what may be the last shred of virility within my being, I took one of my vintage Robert Graham shirts to Brothers. I did so after my wife plucked it from the Goodwill pile, reasoning how these folks can fix anything, and how I shouldn't give away such an expensive party shirt. I agreed. And now I have a vintage Robert Graham shirt hanging in my closet. Just hanging there. Waiting...for the day when my wife says something like; "Hey, wanna go clubbing tonight?" Couldn't ask for better hands on customer service and knowledge. A family owned and operated business with owners on site at all times. Gus & Pete make an amazing father/son team and never cease to amaze me with all my custom work. I am a 6ft 250lb muscular build that makes it absolutely impossible to buy not only suits but basically anything off rack. I have now had multiple custom suits and tux's made by these guys and sometimes even in crunched time frame (which I would not recommend as it's stressful on all of us). Gus is absolutely the man. The other guy working there, who I believe is his son, is also very good at what he does, as is Gus' wife. I went in to get a custom suit, and could tell that Gus took a ton of pride in his work. He had very strong opinions on what my suit should look like because he wanted to make sure that anyone who saw the suit would be impressed by it. We ended up picking out a great material, and a few weeks later the suit was ready. I'd always heard the expression "fits like a glove", but I never really understood it until I tried that suit on. I *thought* I had worn suits that fit me in the past, but now I know I was sorely mistaken. This guy is going to be making all of my suits as long as I'm in the valley. read more

Let's start by encouraging anyone that has not been back since they dramatically increased the size and look of the store should make the trip. The shop now has a very open feel with great lighting and more fabrics, suits and other accessories on the rack than before. Same stellar service but whole new shopping experience. I've been going to Gus and the family now since 2010 after continued disappointment in the choices, lack of right sizing and poor tailoring of Men's Warehouse and Jos A Bank. Both of those chains would try and sell me what was not the best fit and then poorly tailor it. One always has these buy 1 get 2 free type of sales, but they are marked up so that you ultimately pay the same for less. At Brothers they don't play the markup game and make sure that you're 100% happy with your purchase. I'm unable to buy off the rack for anything. I'm 5' 8" and fit with a thicker neck and broad chest and shoulders. Everything must be tailored. At Brothers they order my closest fitting size in both slim and standard suits so that the alterations are minimal. It's arrived in a week and tailored by Vickie for pickup the following week. They really take care of their clients and the quality of work and product is the best value in town. It's not just for the boys though - I see as many women in the store for tailoring and business attire as the men. You must go check them out and tell them Brett sent you! You love it!!! read more

My go to dress clothes shop. As a17/37 shirt, I cannot find many shirts off the rack, let alone shirts that are not boxy. For the price I used to pay for a nice shirt plus alterations, I can come here and get a custom shirt made that fits like a glove. Additionally, I have had 2 suits made here and plan on getting a 3rd one in a few weeks. Much like my shirt size, at a 46xl, I cannot find many suits off the rack. Peter has fitted me perfectly. This place has wonderful customer service. I ordered a spare pair of pants for one of my suits and it arrive 6 inches too short. It took a few rounds of alterations, but ultimately we got it right and Peter made up for all the troubles. I do not see myself going to any other tailor in the future. read more

On Thursday, I brought a tux in that needed some alterations for a Saturday event (today). This place is amazing!! My fiancé was referred to them by a friend. We just went in there two Saturdays ago to get my suit tailored for the wedding and a jacket done for her. The entire process was so quick we both looked at each other like "That's it??". Last Saturday we picked up everything and it all fit perfectly. Wow! What a very disappointing and frustrating experience!! As a gift to my minister, I've given him a few gift certificates to be able to have custom made shirts for when he is leading our congregation. The first time he went to this business he said he was treated ok and was very happy with the shirts that he had ordered and felt amazing wearing them. The last time he went which was about a month ago, he was met with absolute rudeness and a total lack of customer service. Gus and Margarita were especially awful! Shame on you!! This review is long overdue! Brothers Tailors is absolutely amazing, I could not say enough good things about them. Vickie and Margarita have been fitting my clothing for years and have perfectly tailored every almost every complementary piece of clothing in my wardrobe. Gus and Peter are always warm and welcoming and I feel like I'm visiting family every time I go there. I am a terrible customer, I always come with extensive alterations needed and a very limited timeframe! They are always accommodating and have a very good eye for the right fit and specific alterations needed for my clothing. I sent my sister there to have her wedding dress done by them as well, which was absolutely stunning, and then they altered it a second time 5 years later to fit her again after she had 2 babies for their vow renewal. My brother-in-law also had his entire wedding party (groomsman) suits down there as well, which came out absolutely beautiful and they have all worn for several weddings since then. I have since moved, and even though it is quite a drive from my house now, there is no where else I would go. My fiancé has bought a suit here before so we figured it's the first place we would try to get another. We went in and we're greeted politely by several employees. An older gentleman even mentioned how much customer service matters to let us know when we were ready. That was the last positive experience we had there today. The older woman who "helped" us was unbelievably pushy and rude. She starts by insulting my fiancé size range and how she won't keep it stock. Okay, I thought maybe it's just a business decision thing and it came out wrong. Then she continues to be more awful. Insults to the our desire to want to see the actual suit in our desired color on him and pretty much anything else we said. We left even though we wanted to buy today. Please beware of this business establishment. On a visit, I had taken my blazer for a fitting, and even brought my brother with me to fit his suit. I lost all hope when the owners son came and started aggressively and abruptly talking over me, kept changing the price when his father told me another price, and firmly disrespected me when I questioned why the price changed? After I was insulted, I took my clothes and left. They overcharge and have most of the undocumented sweatshop workers in the back that needs to be investigated. There are so many better options with superior service then this tailor, who actually doesn't do it themselves and outsources it to sweatshop workers. Look for a private tailor who's prices are reasonable and actually do it themselves. Trust me on this! read more

I had three suits made not too long ago that all fit well and were comfortable. I went in today to get them touched up at Brother's. After trying them all on, the guys there said they were well tailored suits and not to waste my money. I was amazed that instead of trying to make a buck off of my misjudgment and therefore an unnecessary service, they were completely honest. I mean, they technically lost business today because they didn't push for me to get them tailored. Instead, they have gained my business for as long as I am in AZ because of their direct honesty and good principles.
