Half Rack with beans and Mac

Holy Smokes! Not only the best customer service ever but the food...WOW! Went on a very rainy day - we were going to wait out the storm before heading up to order when a very sweet girl came up to our window - in the downpour - and asked if we wanted to order! It was our first time there so she ran back and grabbed a menu. We called in the order so she wouldn't have to run back out. Took our order and payment right over the phone! We have tried many BBQ places and will say this was literally the BEST brisket and ribs we've probably ever eaten! Sides are small but you can order larger - although not sure that's necessary! So much meat - brisket was flavorful and cooked to perfection and the ribs were fall off the bone tender with an amazing season - I didn't even use any sauce. If you're looking for delicious BBQ - can't go wrong here! We will definitely be back.

Let me preface this review with saying I think living in Texas for a few years might have changed my perception of what BBQ should be. Service was very friendly. We ordered a few items and he suggested ordering something as a platter to save a few bucks. I really appreciated that. He also verified what we purchased upon ordering and after we picked it up. The food was packaged well for take out, came with plastic utensils, and was warm. Now on to the food. The smoked Mac and cheese was good. Very cheesy. I didn't really pick up on it tasting smoked but I also don't know what I expected. Regardless it was solid Mac and cheese. The ribs and brisket were very tender, falling off the bone. I felt like the ribs could benefit from a little salt but that can be easily added to preference. I do feel like the ribs and brisket were also missing a bit of that smoke flavor. I really enjoyed the spicy bbq, which isn't really spicy but has a nice flavor. If you take it for what it is I think this is good southern style bbq. I'm I'll be back more than likely for the brisket sandwich. As it's a food truck all seating is outdoors.

The brisket was delicious! Super well cooked!

The service was quick and friendly. We started with some hush puppies and the sauce that came with them was great. We had a meat bowl with mashed potatoes and lean brisket with a couple sides. Both were OK. Here's the tough part and I know this might be fine for here. The brisket was dry. I am use to it being juicy and super tender. This brisket just wasn't like that. Everything else was great and I would go back try the chicken. Enjoy!

We've always had positive experiences, treated staff with respect, and consistently tipped generously--so what happened recently was both surprising and disappointing. An assistant manager, who we happen to know personally, approached our table, pulled up a chair, and initiated what she described as a "chat." Instead, it turned into a prolonged and very public reprimand regarding complaints that were reportedly initiated by a new hostess. The situation seems to have stemmed from a prior visit where we were told we could not be seated at an empty booth because it was being held for a potential party of six--which ultimately never arrived--while we were asked to wait for another table. When we asked about this at the time, it appeared the hostess was unsure how to handle the situation. The conversation lasted about 20 minutes and was conducted loudly enough that surrounding tables could clearly hear. If there were any concerns about our behavior, we would have absolutely been open to a respectful, private conversation. Addressing customers in this manner--publicly, loudly, and at length--felt inappropriate and unprofessional, especially coming from someone in a management role. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable. After years of being regular patrons, it was disheartening to be treated this way without any prior indication of an issue. We hope ownership or upper management takes this as constructive feedback. Long-term customers should feel valued, and difficult conversations--if needed--should be handled with discretion and professionalism. Unfortunately, this establishment has lost our business.

I unfortunately didn't get a photo but there is no way they smoke their brisket- I was told they only "chop" their brisket by the server I was unable to get it sliced -they said they smoke it for 12 hours over night) it is possibly the most dry and disappointing brisket I have ever had in my life :( All three times I have visited I have been so disappointed with the meat- the ribs were actually quite nice but I get a very sick stomach eating pork so I was only able to take 1 bite of the rib On the other hand this place has the best collard greens I have ever tried- they have a more tangy taste which I love The amount of onions they put in them though- is insane and they could at least be chopped up more it's terrible having to pick 2 whole onions worth of slices out of your collard greens despite picking out entire onions from it- the collards are very good! By far possibly my favorite -even though this is a large Chain The Mac and cheese was very sad, it was dry and just not cheesy I would not recommend which is unfortunate bc Mac is a staple for bbq!! The baked beans were also very good! I would order those and the collards again! Honestly I don't think I'd recommend my friends or family to go here just because of how dry the meat was and it was that dry every time I ordered- I also don't trust the fact they smoke it- I'd love to see the process- no visible smoke rings and extremely dry- for a bbq place to have dry meat. Is just not good and I don't see myself returning unless I have a nick for the collard greens

The bartender Bowin was great but the owner that was talking down to him was absolutely appalling. First thing I heard across the bar before taking my drink order "I heard you're wanting to serve here and it's not gonna happen" which shocked me because where I come from if you have a correction to make with an employee take it up in the office, not in the public eye. I'm visiting and wanted a nice happy hour experience but let me say I'm never happy seeing workers mistreated like that. I was polite enough to wait until the end of my meal to speak with the owner, Ron, and he was very dismissive. He said the following "it's not that deep, you don't know the full story, etc." which absolutely true I don't know the full story but I don't need to. Actions speak louder than words. The way he treated him I would never support someone like that and first impressions are everything so shame on him. I stayed because I wanted to give Bowin a good tip and ensure I take this up with the owner before leaving instead of leaving a review. Here we are, I'm leaving a review because hospitality is very important in 2 sectors: 1) the way you feel; 2) the experience. I give a singular star for Bowin's great service as well as Celine's but Ron, the owner, doesn't deserve anyone's money for the way he treats his employees. I've never left a review like this but there's a first for everything. I do not recommend this establishment but if you do go please sit at the bar with Bowin or Celine because they deserve a good tip to take home. I support them but not this establishment or Ron. The way you treat your employees is the way they will treat your customers. I will also not be dismissed by someone like this. At first I wasn't going to say anything because I'm on vacation but I will not stand for this nor support this.
