Fantastic local place to go for a downright delicious breakfast. I went on a Wednesday morning around 10:30 and had a 15 minute wait. Brother Juniper's is always busy and always worth the wait. I started out with a hazelnut latte. It was the perfect temperature and had the right amount of flavoring. For my meal I wanted something light, so I ordered a cup of oatmeal with blueberries and went out on a limb and got a side of fresh fruit too. I was pleasantly surprised when the fruit was freshly cut pineapple with red grapes instead of the restaurant-typical melon medley with a grape or two. My first time here. Beware this place is small so come at a decent time. We only had to wait about 10 mins which was ok. The waitress we had was very friendly but I forgot her name. Nice variety on there menu & the prices was very decent. Only thing about this place is that it took awhile for our food to come. Other then that the food was excellent & the home fries were so good. The food here is so good that it makes the 1.5 hour wait almost worth it. I've only been here twice but it always makes me come back for more. Brother junipers always serves up a great hearty and fresh meal to start your day. You can either go light with some house made bakery goods or get something a little heavy like the open faced omelettes or potatoes. THEIR POTATOES ARE A MUST GET!! I got the Rachel Ray favorite this time and even though I'm a small girl, my stomach devoured the entire plate. All except the cheese grits. It was weird for me. Kind of like morning Mac and cheese. Those are extra. Seriously not worth it. Go to Blue Plate on Poplar or even IHOP. It's loud. The menus and tables are dirty. The floor isn't even clean. The table shakes. I doubt they've ever cleaned the condiment bottles. Poorly managed and just gross. I won't be coming back anytime soon. I've tried the local favorites (Corky's & Rendevouz) and while they were good, they didn't give me that WOW feeling. Listed as one of the best breakfast locales in Memphis. It's just down the street from University of Memphis. We arrived and waited one hour for a table for 2 on a Saturday morning. Food took another 1/2 hour to arrive. We ordered two versions of Greek omelets. Nice quality. Comes with American fries or grits , biscuit or toast. So, if you're hungry they s might not be the place to go on a Saturday morning. Service was adequate. Coffee nothing special. Food was tasty, and prices moderate to high. Orange juice was fresh squeezed. Next time I'm in Memphis I'll look for alternative breakfast locations. The long wait was a bit much. read more

I had one breakfast opportunity while in Memphis for work and deciding where to choose was a struggle! I ultimately chose Brother Juniper's and i knew pretty immediately that I chose wisely. We arrived on a Sunday around 9am and there was already a packed house and a 30min wait. The restaurant has a few different rooms, so what looks somewhat small from the front can actually seat quite a few. They turnover tables pretty quick, so I wouldn't let the wait deter you, our 30min wait was more like 20. The menu has a ton of great options, The open faced omelettes are a cool idea, almost like a breakfast quesadilla except the tortilla is egg. I didn't have that, but my friend did and said it was delicious. I had the Garden & Lamb omelette, which was easily one of the top 3 omelets I've ever had. It's an unlikely combo of a garden omelette stuffed with gyro meat, feta and mozzarella. It was so good that I need to try and recreate it. If you're even a little intrigued by it, just go for it. The star of the show though were the cinnamon roll pancakes. I split an order with my friend and holy lord were these good. It was like a really good pancake meets a Cinnabon. Basically heaven. You cannot go wrong with choosing this spot. The service was awesome and friendly-just get there early to avoid the wait. read more
