Arrived here Xmas eve morning and was greeted with open arms. No purchase restrictions like the foolish wanna-be bagel shop in Avon on Rt 44. This place is always packed. Staff is friendly and their authentic NYC style bagels are always in high demand. These bagels are the BEST in the entire Farmington Valley and possibly in the entire state. I compare Brookside bagels to the historic and destination bagel shop Ess-a-bagel, and Russ & Daughters bagel shop in NYC. Don't waste your tIme and money at any other bagel shops as Brookside Bagel should be programmed as a favorite in you cars GPS settIngs. read more

Burned bagels! How does anyone even sell something that is not edible. I wish is looked in my bag before I left

These bagels are like crack. I don't know if they are made on-premises or not, but every bagel I've tried is amazing. I'm addicted to the Nova lox: Your choice of bagel with cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, onions and a few capers for good measure. The menu is a little unorganized, but the young high school and college kids behind the counter are super friendly and will help you find what you're looking for. I order, pay, wait in the tiny eating section and then go eat outside with my pup on the patio. The parking lot is always a zoo, but it usually clears up around lunchtime. read more

This place is a disaster on Sundays... we ordered a toasted everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and a toasted egg bagel with plain cream cheese, we waited 35-40 minutes to get them along with 7/8 other people. We went up and asked about the bagels and they told us that "it's taking longer because the bagels were toasted." We also had people behind us get their bagels before us, when we received the bagels they were cold and squished as shown in the picture. Will never go back there again. read more

Brookside Bagels - Bagels Near Me - Simsbury, Connecticut

OK..we are only talking bagels here...but these were GOOD. Unassumingly looking spot located in a house but don't be deceived. Brought home a half dozen and toasted them the next mornings and they were really good. We had the cheddar and the cinnamon raisin. These aren't the biggest bagels in the world...and they aren't the chewy type either.....but they have tons of flavor and just feel home-made! Does that many any sense? Puts the chain store bagels to absolute shame. read more

My family just moved to the area, and pass Brookside Bagels almost every day when we're out and about. The parking lot is always packed, so we figured something good must have been going on there. The other day I had a taken a day off from work and my wife and I stopped for breakfast after dropping our daughter off at school. Upon walking through the door you are greeted with all sorts of fantastic smells. Taking a look at the menu, they have a variety of bagels, spreads, sandwiches, and wraps. The employee behind the counter was polite, curious, and answered all of our questions. My wife ordered an everything bagel, and I snagged a ham, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. After a few minute wait we had our food and sat down to eat. Damn, it was good. Everything was fresh, tasty, and the prices where more than reasonable compared to the chain stores around the area. I can safely say we've found our new favorite breakfast spot. The place can get busy, so expect a wait in line. read more

Local, fresh, homemade, friendly. These are just a few of the reasons why brook side is where we go. I highly recommended it. Enjoy.

This is my breakfast spot of choice! This is a small operation, but it produces great food. Employees, in my experience, are cordial and remember you & your order after you come in a few times. My favorite is the cheddar bagel. I also love that their cream cheese is whipped! I've also had tuna salad on a bagel--delicious. Their salads are great too. I haven't had much else on the menu other than that, but as this is a bagel place, I can say that their bagels are way better than any chain bagel place you might go to. The service can sometimes be slow, so you want to be sure you have a few extra minutes if you're picking up breakfast on the go. read more

Brookside never ever disappoints. The bagels are always fresh and their breakfast special beats anything a Dunkin' Donuts could offer. Best bagel shop around! read more

Pretty small place which is almost always busy that serves some pretty good bagels, breakfast sandwiches and a few lunch items. From my most recent experience, I'd have to recommend the cheddar cheese bagel as it is super soft and doughy with a very great cheddar flavor. Although my egg is usually a little more brown than I'd want, I think the bagel quality makes up for it. read more

The BEST bagels you will every try, the egg sandwiches are so amazing. Seriously you have to try it!!

Brookside bagel definitely provides a solid bagel/breakfast sandwich in a timely manner, for a reasonable price. The bagels were good, but I think I'm still going to default to Goldberg's in west hartford. I went on a Sunday morning and brookside was busy, but not packed. There were lots of bagels to choose from. I ended up trying two things: an egg and cheese on and everything bagel, and a cheddar bagel with scallion cream cheese. The bagels were chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. Unfortunately once I got back to my car I realized my egg and cheese was actually a sausage/egg/cheese. I'm currently pregnant and not eating sausage so rather than go back for another I just removed it. The cheddar bagel was good, lots of cheese...maybe too much combined with the cream cheese I ordered. I think the scallion cream cheese might have been my favorite part of the whole meal. They have quite a few different homemade cream cheeses which is a good selling point. They are tasty! The service was good and I like that they have a little seating area and coffee bar. read more

Great place to order lunch. I recommend the Turkey BLT on an everything bagel. Even better, they deliver and do not charge a delivery fee. But, always remember to tip well. read more

Brookside Bagels has this down! I went there today hoping to go in for a bagel, when I pulled in a girl came right to my car, took my order & delivered it to my car with the best attitude and personality, kudos, Brookside...as if the bagels werent amazing enough!! read more

Had to add a star because I always look forward to coming here on the weekend. And for the amount of people they pack in the line moves pretty quick. The service is friendly and polite, even though the line never seems to get any shorter so good job to them! read more

Brookside Bagels - Standing room only on a Saturday morning - Bagels Near Me - Simsbury, Connecticut

I haven't met anyone, ever, who didn't like Brookside Bagels. The bagels are the best I've had, probably ever. Egg sandwiches, cream cheese, whatever. It's all great. The wraps are equally as delicious (their chicken wraps are a little more expensive but gigantic, quality and worth every penny). It's a wonderful place to sit with with the Advocate and a cup of coffee. Wish they had lattes, but we can't have them all. I'll take my perfect bagel, thank you. read more

In town for a few days. Bagels are good. This Brookside Bagel place is awesome. Small roadside place that I expect locals are grateful to have in their community. Super cute place. Great sandwich selection. Very helpful staff. Bagel was fresh and amazing as the base of my turkey BLT. I'm sure there are numerous places in this 300 year old town that can fill your belly, but I do officially proclaim this to be the greatest bagel place in the Greater Simsbury Metropolitan Area. Full stop. read more

Rolls shaped like a bagel 1.5 stars My Saturday morning started with a dozen bagels from Brookside. The store is really neat and their bagel offering looks pretty good. For that I give them 1 star. The bagels however were not so good. For starters the bagels are not chewy and dense, but more of a roll like texture and weight. There were air pockets throughout both large and small, they were much lighter than a NY style bagel. Flavor was actually more similar to that of a sandwich roll rather than a bagel. I can't quite pinpoint what they did wrong but my hunch is they do not use high gluten flour. High gluten flour is essential to a good bagel and what is used by all good bagel shops. If not that, they are not boiling or steaming the bagels properly. I hope this was an isolated incident and will give them another try next week, but will sample 1st and buy only if chewy, dense, and flavorful like a bagel should be. read more

Best bagels around and wonderful bagel sandwiches too!! Cream cheese and other spreads are also available. Friendly service no matter how crowded it gets!! read more

Visited them for the first time today, in late morning. The good news: the bagel I bought tasted fresh, the sandwich I ordered to go was well made, and the service was friendly. The not-as-good news came in two categories: it seemed to take a long time to make my sandwich, given the number of kitchen workers; and the bill was a bit high - the sandwich, in particular, seemed expensive at something like $8.60, though I don't live around there and don't know what typical prices are like at nearby sandwich shops. I would certainly go there again if I were in the area. read more

This is an easy place to stop and grab a bite. The bagels are decent but they overpower them with too much cream cheese. I usually ask for the cream cheese on the side. The bagel sandwiches are good but I wish they were a little lower in price. The bagels aren't huge so you aren't getting as much food as a regular sandwich. A pleasant but busy atmosphere. read more

Don't order the "breakfast special". Eggs were basically raw, potatoes were old and soggy with fatty bacon piled on top, all in a cheap see through plastic container. Just Awful. Bagels are average. Service was snippy and quality suspect. Used to be a better place to eat years ago. Go elsewhere. read more

The bagels aren't quite as good as Lox Stock but this is a very solid alternative. Friendly and quick service and you can get eggs, bacon, home fries, a bagel with butter and coffee all for $5. Not bad at all. read more

By far the best, freshest, lightest, bagels north of NYC! Old school restaurant for breakfast specials, grab your own juice and coffee (Green Mountain), and the home fries are to die for! Grab a "baker's dozen", get complimentary freezer bags, and enjoy them for the rest of the week with your home coffee brew. The cream cheese has trace of vanilla mixed in it, I believe, and will make you smile, so get a tub to go...it's that good! read more

The bagels are perfectly textured and very fresh. I got an everything with scallion cream cheese. The "everything" toppings were a good mix and not too much of any individual flavor. Personally I might add a bit more coarse salt but still otherwise very good as is. Pricing is usual for a small bagel shop and they have "day olds" for a very good price off to the side. Keep in mind there's no preservatives so they will be solid within a few days. I picked some up in hopes of freezing them to preserve. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is the "process" of ordering is annoying. I have been here before where I get an untrusted bagel with cream cheese and had to wait about 10 minutes for everyone in front of me to complete their transaction.. This would be easily solved if they eliminate the line from order to paying. That way when you get your order, which they call your name for, you can go cash out and be on your way read more

Brookside Bagels - Bagels Near Me - Simsbury, Connecticut

Overpriced & overrated. Waited 20 minutes for a bagel despite the shop being nearly empty.

Their bagels are excellent. I dig the egg bagel and the blueberry. There's plenty of parking and seating here and the service is lightening fast. Pro tip: for lunch order a salad and you'll receive a bagel with it. Disclaimer: while Brookside is a 5 star bagel place, it's not my first love when it comes to bagel goodness. read more

Alleluia. Best bagel I've ever had. My son and I had the cinnamon apple - baked gooey apples centered inside a delicious raisin bagel. Finger licking good. We'll be back again and again I'm sure! read more

A Simsbury institution! Brookside is doing a great job making things safe and easy during COVID. The bagels and spreads are unique and a must try when in the area. Prices are fair. read more

Good bagels, friendly staff, plenty of coffee and exceptionally fast service. The bagels are reasonably sized and priced accordingly. I don't need a bagel through size of my head for breakfast. I'm much happier paying $1.69 for a bagel with butter. Thank you! Tons of flavors including a fan favorite, cheddar, which is a little more but I thought worth the price. Breakfast sandwiches are made to order and the eggs are fresh. I'll be making this a regular stop when I'm down here for work! read more

Great bagels and menu. The only negative is how long you have to wait for your order. The place was packed with people waiting for their orders. Will definitely go back!!! read more

Love Brookside Bagels. Their cheddar everything is my favorite bagel anywhere and the $5 breakfast special with two eggs, bacon or sausage, home fries, and a coffee can't be beat. Great food but in Saturday mornings they take the phone off the hook so you can't call in your order and when you go and stand in line for 20 min to get your good they mess up the order and you have to go back to get the good they didn't make and then they give u attitude Really?? Don't need to go thru that again read more
