    Sesame with veggie CC

I've had Brookside Bagels before, but this was my first visit there that I remember. Brookside is located in an old house-type structure. There were a number of people sitting there at 9:45 on a Saturday morning. There seemed to be a decent amount of seating. Service was friendly and efficient. I had a sesame bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese. The bagel was very soft and lacked much chew. I know some people prefer this type of bagel, but I prefer a chewier bagel. The veggie cream cheese was also soft and about average flavor-wise for a CT Bagel Shop. 3.5 Stars

I was visiting my hometown and stopped here Sunday morning. It was packed and for a reason. Plenty of parking.....and it seems some park across the street. Super fresh bagels. I ordered with very little wait. A toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese and coffee. Plenty of cream cheese on the bagel. I just wish it was more toasted. I should have mentioned it but it was definitely barely toasted. The coffee is self serve. Plenty of seating and a cute seating area with couches towards the back. Friendly staff. I remember when this place was Zablockis and I was looking for some history with the building and Ms. Zablocki owning it but I sadly did not see any history. The bagel was so good I almost went up to get some to go to take home. But when I return I will be back for more.

    Dutch apple bagel....yum-o !

Went to this spot twice within 1 month. 1st time I had a sausage egg and cheese on a cheese cheese bagel it was amazing! The cheddar cheese bagels toasted with butter are the best! 2and trip I tried the dutch apple bagel which was totally awesome. The staff running around outside to get order to your car are very friendly. If in the area definitely check this place out.

They kept the older house personality of the previous owner, with different rooms that have tables and chairs to hang out in. They also sell some clothing, coffee bags and other small gift items. Upon entering, we noticed that we were the only…read moreones there.. the shop was pretty empty but (I assume, the owner) quickly came out and greeted us. I informed her that I'd need a few minutes as this was our first time. She gave us a run down of what they offered and said that they can essentially make any custom drinks you desire! She was very kind and gave us some time to decide what to get. I love a good strawberry matcha so I gave that one a shot and my fiancé had to judge their brown sugar boba. We also went with half a dozen of their mochi donuts to try. It was a gamble as we came around 2pm and slightly worried that they were going to turn out stale (bad experience from another store where they were in fact, so stale). She was the only one working so I sparked some conversation as she made our drinks. This shop is a little over a year old so I am glad it's still thriving! Our drinks quickly came out and were pretty tasty. The strawberries in my matcha had pieces of strawberry in the syrup and wasn't too overly sweet. Pretty refreshing! My fiancé's brown sugar was also on the less sweet side which I can appreciate. The boba wasn't the best, as it wasn't quite chewy.. our teeth just sank into them with not much to chew afterwards. Now, based on the yelp reviews, it doesn't seem like they change out the flavors of mochi donuts. There were probably around 8 different flavors. To my surprised, they were still so soft and fluffy!! The outside wasn't too crisp as it probably sat a bit, but they were not stale at all. We had some the day after as well, and they were still so so soft and fluffy! The flavors were pretty light and not too overpowering. I am just pretty satisfied with the texture of the donuts. Overall, the owner was so sweet and kind and offered great treats. I will gladly return in the future to try other things!

She makes the mochi donuts fresh daily! And they are AMAZING. We had some around 5pm, and they still tasted fresh and delicious. Definitely try the maple one! They also have a nice selection of boba teas, and I went with the taro milk tea with boba, and my husband tried the brown sugar milk tea with boba. The boba consistency was spot on, and the flavors were great- not overly sweet. Prices were fair. The shop itself is small and welcoming. Can't wait to go back!

The shop is cozy with additional outdoor seating during the nice weather. It's always crowded, but the line does move fairly quickly. There is hardly seating available especially early morning and prime lunch time. We usually take our things to-go. One of the things that makes Dom's Coffee stand out is their Charcoal Mocha. It's so delicious and the color is beautiful, perfect for a Halloween/fall treat. The mocha has a rich, but there is a hint of coconut flavor--you don't actually taste the charcoal. Another thing that I like is their tea selection and season tea drinks. During my last visit, I had an Apple Pie Chai which paired well with my Pumpkin Scone. My all time favorite was their Blackberry Mint Chai in the spring. I loved how unique it was and the flavors really worked! My dad really loved their grilled cheese sandwich. It had Swiss, cheddar cheese and he added tomatoes. He says that Dom's makes the best grilled cheese which doesn't surprise me because of the Dom's Cheese shop that is located with the coffee shop. The quality of cheese makes a huge difference. If you are near Dom's and looking for some coffee fuel, give them a try. Their ice cream shop is also next door too.

First off, it's definitely one of those small, tucked-away spots you could easily miss if you didn't know it was there, but once you walk in, the decor is so cute. Think cozy, shabby chic vibes that make it feel warm and welcoming right away. The standout for me? The dinner roll. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It was dense, rich, and satisfying, not your typical light, airy Kaiser roll. It reminded me more of a Jamaican hard dough bread in texture and weight, which I personally loved. Super flavorful and filling. I was also really happy about their buy three, get one free promotion. It made it easy to try a few different things without feeling like I was overdoing it. As for the pastries, I tried the cinnamon roll and carrot cake. I didn't finish either, but the carrot cake definitely gave true homemade vibes. It had coconut mixed in, wasn't overly sweet, and felt more traditional than indulgent. If you like a less sugary, more classic-style carrot cake, you'll probably appreciate it. Overall, this bakery is worth a stop, especially if you're exploring the pastry trail. Not everything wowed me, but there were definitely some highlights that made it a good visit.

Their mission is imbued in their staff, products, how they set up their space, and how you order. We came here for breakfast on a weekday and had a lovely experience. They have breakfast and lunch cafe menus (+catering), yummy pastries (cookies, muffins and scones) and various coffees and drinks. We enjoyed the omelette (if you order more than 3 ingredients there's a charge) and the village breakfast which was eggs, potatoes (slightly blackened), sourdough toast (or wheat) and bacon. Prices are fairly standard ($11-14) and portions not very large. The panetonne, toasted coconut, and chocolate chip scones ($5 each) were all good and baked well. The honey latte and hot chocolate (most drinks are $4-8) were also very creamy and delicious, though slightly too sweet for our tastes (made it taste good though!) You order at the counter and then take a table and place a marker with nice words like "love" and then your food is brought to you. The actual space is very inviting, with lots of nooks and crannies (tables with chairs, couches, a fireplace). They also sell t-shirts ($30) and sweatshirts ($40-50?) which are pretty soft material, as well as ground coffee, cards, granola, etc. The other half of their space is their homemade pasta place so it's a unique layout and looked fun as well. There were plenty of customers cycling in and out, many sitting down with a warm drink and a pastry. Parking isn't huge but was not super super small but could be an issue if they got an influx of folks hanging out. Wouldn't blame them though because it's a comfortable place with free wifi. Looking forward to returning! Shopping like Whole Foods, walmart, and Shop Rite are all within a few miles.
