Went here as a Mother's Day treat. The resturaunt was mostly empty and the staff welcomed us in warmly. We started with garlic knots which were very good and not overpowering. The marinara sauce tasted fresh with tomato chunks in it. The calamari appetizer looked generic like onion rings and tasted bland. They reminded me of something you'd find in your grocer's freezer aisle. The antipasto salad was disappointing. Instead of layering the ingredients, it looked like there was only one type of meat, three types of cheeses, and some type of vinaigrette dressing. We added jalapeños to the BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza and it was great. We had another pizza with half pepperoni and half three meat Vs which had meatballs on top. It had a strong flavor the many didn't agree with. Overall it was pleasant and we may return. read more

After every bad pizzeria that I visit in Arizona, I tell myself, this is it. Not going to try another one after this. Not going to be tricked by another review or a friend that claims - "no, no, no, you have to try X! It's the best pizza here! You're going to love it!" Well here we go again... Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I walked into the Gilbert location of Brooklyn V's to pick up my pepperoni pizza along with garlic knots. While waiting for the hostess(?) to grab my order from on top of the ovens. I glanced over and saw a placard near the register on how the owner was from Brooklyn and he use to sit on his stoop and some other spiel. I'm guessing this is to make the establishment feel more 'authentic'? As if just being from Brooklyn automatically makes you a pizzaiolo? Cause Brooklyn V's proved that isn't the case. When I got the pizza in my hand, it was faintly warm. Even though I had arrived a few minutes before the time I was given. But, that's the smallest complaint I have about the whole experience. What hit me as strange was that there was absolutely no smell from the pizza. Usually whenever I get some good (or even decent) pizza you can definitely smell it. There's a very strong smell that makes you want to eat the pizza before you even take a bite. This had no such thing. Even though it even had pepperoni on it, and yet nothing. Funnily enough, when I walked over to my car and handed the pie to my wife (who is from Brooklyn by the way. So she also grew up sitting on stoops... So maybe she should open a pizzeria..). She remarked the same thing.. "why doesn't this smell like anything?", she said. I'm reminded of Mark from Lucali's (whose also from Brooklyn... I'm sensing a pattern here...) definition of a pizza - ""You walk into a pizzeria, the smell should punch you in the face... A city has flavor. You should be able to taste that, when you eat there". Well, Phoenix has a lot of dirt. So I guess it at least fits Mark's definition of a pizza. Now getting to the actual taste of the pizza. The dough/crust was actually decent and the sauce wasn't bad. But my goodness, the cheese and pepperoni were horrible. Cheese was beyond too salty (the dollar-slice joints have better cheese) and the pepperoni lacked any flavor what-so-ever. Somehow the pepperoni made the pizza even worse! Which, I didn't know was possible until now. The garlic knots on the other hand were alright. Honestly, they were probably the best part about the whole experience. But, I doubt anyone goes somewhere just for the knots. Overall, another disappointing visit to another disappointing pizzeria. P.S. - Also to the guy that is a self proclaimed pizza snob from Jersey. Jersey doesn't know what good pizza is and it shows. Calling a whole city hicks to somehow make your opinion more credible is laughable at best. read more

Love the name & philosophy! Staff very friendly and on top of their game, place was busy and they were all very efficient!! Decor And ambiance is great, love all the old photos on the walls!! The pizza has the nice bubbles and the sauce is great! Unfortunately, the crust does not live up to the crunchy yet soft n chewy n greasy ny style :(. We are always looking for real New York style "pizza pie". This place kept coming up recommended so we decided to try it. I wouldn't say it's true NY pizza (too thick) but it is very good! The crust is delicious, the meats and basil tasted very fresh. We also tried 3 different appetizers. We tried the fried zucchini, the mozzarella sticks, and the garlic knots. We all agreed that the fried zucchini was the best we've had. The mozz sticks were just like any other and the garlic knots were too "bready" tasting. Our service was very good, nice young attentive kid. If you want a comparison, I'd say it's closest to NYPD Pizza but better. Same style pizza. We agreed it's worth the drive from Tempe and we'll definitely go back sometime. read more

I had been craving thin crust pizza all day so after working I told my kids be ready and we would go try a pizza place in Gilbert we had never been to. We drove all the way there (about 20 minutes) just for them to be closed . My son kept saying let's go to the place by the smoke shop the pizza was so good (I had no idea what he was talking about) so I looked up pizza places near me and Brooklyn v's popped up so we went! My daughter was pissy that they didn't have thin crust and at this point I didn't care I just want to eat and go home. So we ordered garlic knots and a large pizza. Let me tell you!!!!!! I couldn't describe the taste if I wanted too, This pizza is so good!!! Not only is the flavor amazing but the way it manages to be soft but a thin layer of crisp on the bottom and crust is absolutely ahhhhmazzing!!!This is by far one of the best pizza places I have ate in Arizona! Went for lunch with a friend had the chicken parmesan if that's what you want to call it cuz it was chopped up in bits smothered in semi tasteless mozzarella cheese and marinara that goes right through you and also that was not temperature hot nothing comes with the sandwich it's almost $10 and you ask for a side of sauce and it's this tiny thing like a tablespoon amount? Still feeling the aftermath after this lunch both my friend and I got completely sick by it. Been to the Queen Creek location the pizza was decent this was the first time at the Gilbert location was not good unfortunately they took a few dollars off but really waste of time and money. I don't even think those chicken bits equals 1 breast of chicken I think they split it up between both open sandwiches of not-so-great tasting bread everything was just awful. really unfortunate that I have to put this kind of post up considering I am a New Yorker and I am in Italian I want to see places like this succeed but when they're putting out food like this it really makes me wonder why? read more

They're white pizza, hands down. The best. I'm always worried about pizza being too greasy, definitely not the case. Brooklyn V's is one of the only places I don't have blot away grease. They're crust is also super delicious. I usually throw my crust away, or slip it to the dogs I also really like their jalapeño fried ravioli. The first bite, no spice. The after taste, definitely a kick but I couldn't stop myself and stuffed them in my face. The staff is also extremely friendly and the food was ready for takeout in less than 20 minutes! read more

I ask people, "where can I find good New York style pizza." Then I go where they say, I'm disappointed and then ask, "Have you ever eaten pizza in New York?" The answer is "no" and I kick myself every time for not asking that first. As an East Coast transplant (who has had pizza multiple times in New York), this is the closest to real New York pizza I have found. (No offense to Sal's, which seems a local favorite, but Sal's sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee.) It's really frustrating to grow up with great pizza your whole life just to discover the rest of the country has no clue how to make it. I've not yet had bad service, but as an east-coaster, I don't expect the place to open up like freakin' Beast's kitchen for Belle (be our guest, be our guest) either. This is my go to pizza place. Pizza was terrible. Cold. Tasted like cardboard. I ordered boneless wings, but received bone-in wings, and when i called to see what could be done about it, they basically told me I was lying and that they had bone-in written on their ticket. I don't know if this place needs another positive review. With over 200 reviews and most everyone of them five stars, I'm not sure there is much new that I can say. We found this business through Yelp, and gave it a try today. My oh my, am I glad we did! This is a long lost discovered treasure, a diamond in the rough, a place that helps put Gilbert on the map! We started with the adventure with cheese garlic knots. I had two slices of pepperoni pizza and my better half had the pesto bow tie pasta with chicken. Fantastic and flavorful on all accounts. The sauce, the cheese, the crust.... yum! Finished it off with a nice sweet Snickers pie. We were able to meet the owners Anna and Vito, the latter who made it a point to come out of the kitchen from hand tossing his pizza dough to see how our meal was. Wonderful people and very personable. There are few and far amazing pizza places around the Valley, and this is one of them. If you are in the Gilbert area, just out and about looking for a place to try, or happen to live nearby but maybe have been stuck under a rock, you really owe it to yourself to try it out. What really topped everything off for us was the news they will be opening a new location in Queen Creek which will be much closer to our home. It was like a late Christmas present! Been wanting to check out Brooklyn V's for some time now, but usually hit up other pizza joints instead . Well, that just changed. Some of the best pizza, not just in Gilbert, but in the Valley. Authentic N.Y. pizza. Not to much tomato sauce, fresh cheese, good meats and when you pick up a slice, it doesn't wilt. The dough is light and airy, with a great crust. We also tried the chicken wings and garlic knots,both very good. The wings were large and meaty and the knots were fresh and hot,with just the right amount of garlic and butter. The service was excellent, very attentive, and friendly, even the owner came over and asked about our lunch....now that's good P.R. They just found a new customer in the Barber family and we will tell others about Brooklyn V's pizza. read more

Love the food but their covid standards aren't updated on this so I wasn't expecting most of the staff to maskless with no sanitizer in site. Our waiter didn't have a mask, fist pumped random customers, and was digging wads of cash out of his pockets for no reason and had half his palm on the empty plates he gave us for the pizza. Let me start off saying the pizza here is great.... however customer service is HORRIBLE!!! Came in and wasn't greeted had to walk up to the counter stood in FRONT of a server who still didn't greet us, finally he said I gotta finish a couple tickets first... take a seat. We ordered 2 slices of pizza mozzarella sticks with ranch and a salad. Waited 20min for the sticks but got no ranch, 30 min for our SLICE of pizza he came over and forgot about our salad. He was to focused on the fact his family was there to worry about us or other tables. Didn't check on our meal so I had to walk up to the counter and wait to get ranch. Servers name was Jared.
