After hearing so much about how this is the closest thing to NY-style pizza, we finally got around to trying out Brooklyn Pizza. It is definitely the best NY-style pizza place that I have been to in Columbus. The restaurant also has the NYC vibes going with minimalistic pizzeria ambience, no-frills and to-the-point customer service, and delicious, foldable slices (to fold or not to fold - that is up to you). We ended up getting two pies - the cheese and the pesto chicken. The cheese was the clear winner between the two. I will definitely go back here for the cheese pizza, and wish they had other meat topping options such as beef or chicken for non-pork eaters. read more

At first I was hesitant to try Brooklyn Pizza with the constant complaints about the owner on social media. But, my experience was actually really pleasant. I am giving Brooklyn Pizza a 4/5 stars because there is always room for improvement. The service is what it is here. It's ran by a family and they focus more on creating a good quality of authentic New York pizza than trying to cater to peoples feelings and emotions. When I went the owner actually talked to me for a few minutes and asked me what my name was. He seemed nice and passionate about his profession. The pizza here is the real deal. It's one of the only authentic NY slices I've had outside of NY. I'm pretty sure the owner is from Brooklyn and brought his recipes with him. They serve pizza by the slice or pies as a whole. I would rate this pizza a 7.4/10. It has some NY flop to it, but the ingredients are fresh and it's reasonably priced. This pizza definitely resembles pizza in Brooklyn however. I wouldn't compare it to Di Faras and Lucali's. But, definitely reminds me of other places throughout Brooklyn. Overall, if you like New York style pizza and live in Columbus this is the place to go. The pizza was good but the problem is that I have never had to pay a convenience fee and a service fee to pickup a pizza. That fee is not worth my time to drive all the way over there to get a pizza. Quaint little pizza shop in Powell. The pizza here is decent, much better than others I've had in Ohio. Is it NY pizza though? No the sauce is a little too sweet and it's lacking cheese, the crust is nice and crispy and it is foldable. The price is also decent compared to what you pay for other large not as tasty pies in Columbus. The sauce and cheese were good but overall the pizza was bland. The crust was too tough and chewy. I read on some of the reviews that the owner is rude and I definitely saw that first hand. While I was picking up my pizza, the owner yelled at a pregnant lady in the store who asked for ranch dressing with her pizza. This local pizza place is great! It's been on my list to try and i'm happy i went. I came at 12:15, they open at 12, and the place was already full. Everyone was eating by the slice which is perfect we can grab and go! I got a cheese and pepperoni slice and both were amazing. Not too greasy, not soggy underneath. Perfect crisp crust. It's been a long time since I have ordered their pizza - after A Slice of New York shut down on campus, Borgata kind of replaced my pizza cravings, but I've been eyeballing Brooklyn after my buddy suggested it (he's a picky pizza eater and loves the NY style), and my trips to Ill Mannered always make me eyeball it from across the street.
