Love this new coffee shop that just popped up in my neighborhood. They got my attention with the name - and as a total Friends fiend, I had to check it out. While there's no big red couch or Gunther behind the counter, the warm, inviting vibes are all there. In addition to the friendly staff, you'll find several tables with outlets galore where you can enjoy one of the many delicious treats on offer. I got a cappuccino and was very impressed with the smooth, creamy foam they produced. Looks like I've got a new favorite local coffee shop! read more

They need to keep the bathroom in operational order. First time there the toilet seat came unhinged and fell to the floor when I went to lift the seat. Last time there, the water in the tank wasn't filling up. So patrons had to use a small measuring cup to refill the tank after use. Would have been easier for the baristas with the deep sink they have and a pitcher to take care of this. Instead, I had to fill the measuring cup up 3x to get a decent level in the tank. read more

The friendliest coffee shop in the Prospect Lefferst Gardens area and hands down one of my favorite of Brooklyn's hidden gems. It's small - maybe six tables - and the vibe is so welcoming that you feel comfortable leaving your stuff unattended: the owner, Joel, the sweetest guy, will make sure nothing will happen to it. He will make you a delicious coffee and warm up one of the yummy pastries they get daily from Colson's, justly famed for their French croissants and other delicious baked goods. What makes Brooklyn Perk special though is the fact that no matter if you stay there for 15 minutes or three hours, you always feel your presence is welcome and appreciated. Once I spilled my latte and meant to order a new one once I get back from the restroom; to my surprise, a complimentary one with a heart drawn on a napkin was waiting on the table as I emerged. You can't beat such hospitality and friendliness, both from the staff and the patrons alike. You'll meet people there you'll be happy to see again, overhear a lot of meaningful and interesting conversations and if you don't feel like it, you can just immerse yourself in their great playlist. Great coffee in an intimate cafe. The iced mocha was more bitter than sweet, which I prefer. However it was a bit heavy handed with milk. The ice cubes are small and melted quickly but it was so good that it didn't matter to me. I've also ordered a cappuccino and it's flawless. Perfectly bold and rich flavor with a creamy foam. The staff is really nice and welcoming, and the space is great for working if you can snag a seat. read more
