Made the trip with all the crazy traffic going to Brooklyn and was not disappointed. Had so much fun and the worker was very nice.

    We did it!!!

This was an awesome experience!!! If u're looking for something different to do other than the usual, THIS IS IT!!! This is great fun for people who like group activities, puzzle solving, interactive games, adventures, etc. Definitely something a gamer would love. We did Vault 13 and it was challenging for us lol. But we managed to get out within the hour lol. We all had an awesome time and definitely plan to return to try the other rooms. Thank u Brooklyn Escape Room for getting us out of the same old routine!

Had a great time with my friends to celebrate my birthday!!

Had a great time. Staff hand was patient with my group which consisted of 6 boys ages 10 to 12. They were a handful so appreciated that he did not kick us out to be honest. Some critiques include repairing some of the props or making it more durable or new but I get that it's supposed to look old and antique but it's kinda fragile.

    We escaped!!!

There were 6 of us. My 14 year old daughter, 3 of her friends (all same age), my husband and myself. We did the "Hunted" (the easiest) All first timers. Never did escape room before. Used 2 out 3 hints allowed and got out in 45 minutes. The girls were screaming and freaking out every time the "hunted" room made a sound. It was a lot of fun to watch them. My husband didn't really participate much in solving the clues but his presence helped the girls feel more secure especially toward the end of the game. The second part is a bit more creepier :) Overall the girls did great but there is definitely some type of mechanism malfunction where the "key" fits and turns but nothing happens in some of the puzzles.

    Teamwork!

PRO-TIP: The stick is not for knocking out the guard and stealing his keys. PRO-PRO-TIP: Don't dress too nice. It IS a dungeon. I did this with a group of my friends for a birthday, we had soooo much fun. Great experience, we even had a little party in the lobby while our groups were taking turns escaping. I can't wait for the new Zombie escape.

They have private party rooms where they'll bring in pizza and drinks and more for your kiddos. 2. There's built-in entertainment like mini-golf (obviously), a surprisingly extensive arcade complete with tickets to win and redeem for plastic that your kids will love and you will hate. 3. The staff is seriously on point. I'm telling you, they have headsets! They're communicating in real time about where everyone in your party should be, and what needs to be happening. I appreciate you people. 4. There's a BAR FOR THE ADULTS. I can't stress this enough. You know how parents just stand around awkwardly while their kids scream and play and run? Well, it's better when you have a drink in your hand. They've got a solid beer selection, frozen rum punch and pina coladas (see: shipwrecked), and some bottom shelf liquor that the bartender looked into my friend's (the parent of the birthday girl) dead eyes and offered him a heavier pour on the house. This is going to be a staple in my life for the next five years or so, and although I'm sure I'll get tired of it, at least there's a bar.

Kind of felt like being a spy! And was a great workout - We ended up getting one of the top scores of the day and felt like winners - Not just your traditional escape the room, I liked how there were basically 5 in 1! Bad: - The place is a bit quiet and a bit gloomy to hang out in after you're done, but it wasn't a big deal! Overall this was so much fun and definitely recommend this to any team looking for an out of the ordinary team bonding activity!

We met at Baked Melissa on 42nd street. The guide gave us instructions. I was late so I did not hear the instructions. The goal of the race is to find items on a list (movie poster, triplets, slide, dog with clothes, flag, big clock, guy with mets cap, bus driver), 3 out of 6 pictures (daily news globe, muppets at fab schwartz , apple at hudson river park etc) and a find of (12 different flowers or 6 different vendors that sell meet). In addition, for extra point, you had to check in with the guide at times square and if you choose to perform a specific task. The event was tiring. We had to run towards the end of the race to get everything. My team won of course. However, given that we paid $35 for the race. I expected more like water to be provided, nutrional snacks a the end of the race, some sort of metrocard for public transportation and better prize (i got a plastic medal and t-shirt).

All in all a fun day, took us all over the city to places we'd never been. Also exposed me to the bus system which I've rarely taken.. pretty reliable & runs regularly (should I be yelping the metro system..?). Pretty well organized. We got plenty of e-mails beforehand letting us know how we should prepare (though they were a little ambiguous on the metro day pass- were they providing it or did we have to buy it? Good thing we bought ours just in case). On they day of they ran pretty smoothly, although registration was a bit of a bottleneck with one person doing each task (sign in, name tags, handing out paperwork). There were lots of staff though and they were all really friendly and seemed to really enjoy running the event, which made us enjoy it more. At then end they came around and scored our pictures by going through them with us (liked that - so we could make sure we got credit for all the items we found), and had us load our pictures on a computer being projected so we saw a slideshow with everyone's photos as they were scoring. Funny to see how creative some people were. Would've been nice to have a little bit of food at the start or at the end - annoying that we were basically expected to stick around and order Dave & Busters food since that was the start/end location. It's ok, we just ordered a small appetizer (as we were STARVING) and went off to a restaurant actually worth our time for dinner.

Unfortunately, it went downhill from there and this was probably the worst escape room we've experienced (we've done roughly 20). The room was very dark throughout (for atmosphere), but to the extent that we had to use the flashlight on our phones the entire time - which quickly became annoying. There were very, very few puzzles to solve and they had to be done one at a time. Several puzzles were broken - we literally wouldn't be able to see the relevant information because a screen was too scratched up or a telescope wasn't adjusted properly, and it really takes the fun out of things when you have to ask for the code you're supposed to be seeing because you know where it is but actually can't decipher it. There were very few context clues and the room was actually quite sparse. The communication with the game master was broken and we were given a walkie talkie which went in and out, and half the time we had to ask them to repeat themselves over and over. Don't know if the other rooms are any better, but I don't think we'd go back based on our experience of Shelter R.

The family owned and run couple greeted us were warm friendly and explained the rules clearly how to play. Soon we were in a dungeon and had to WORK TOGETHER with our group to survive. From the level of detail with the design to the actual puzzles it was clear a lot of thought was put into each puzzle and there were multiple rooms. They are watching in case there's an issue or if you request a hint and give you time updates. The five of us didn't survive but we did make it to the last room and the owner actually still let us complete/showed us the puzzles. (We definitely needed more time lol). The only cons is better signage when u get to Industry City (the puzzle starts upon arrival to the building lol) and the speaker when the host was speaking was a little muffled. Net net if your looking for a unique experience, party, event this is a HIGHLY reccomended experience to do with a group and worth travelling to.
