So I took my cousins here in 2019 and they LOVED it. When they came back to visit me in NY, this was the #1 activity they mentioned to do. Beat the bomb unequivocally requires teamwork. There are 8 max per group and if you can't communicate with each other, you will not be successful enough to "beat the bomb" (though beating the bomb is pretty hard as it is). What I liked: -they have free lockers for your belongings -the games are pretty fun (there are 4 challenges, and depending how you do it adds to your time at the end to attempt to disarm the bomb) -They provide a suit in various sizes to save your clothes and shoes from the mess, and have an area where you can clean yourself up -Even if you beat the bomb, you can still be blasted by whichever kind of bomb you chose (paint, foam, etc) -Your pics are free! What I didn't like: -You are very active in this game, so it gets sweaty FAST. Need fans in there -The screen in your room indicates when to move on, but if you have a kids group or rowdy group in general, they can disrupt your game by opening the door and walking into it -The last game you play in the series of challenges is pretty confusing and the hardest to manage, especially when the tech doesnt read your body too well How it could improve: -Making the "winning" incentive more known. When I went the first time, we lost, but the latest time we won. I happened to ask a guy a question before leaving an apparently you get a little certificate and pins for winning. We didn't know about that and no one told us that was a thing, so they could make that more known. -More ventilation in the room -Everything is very formulaic, independent experience. This is good because it gives players and chance to learn on their own, but I argue there could be improvements with staff getting a little more involved, particularly with organization. It gets chaotic in there fast. Overall, conceptually it's steps above an escape room because it challenges your brain to think in multiple ways, not just following hints to solve a mystery.

This is my second time coming here. First time my husband and I Beat The Bomb but this time with a bigger team, we lost lol. It was so much. It was very packed when we walked in, people playing games and music going. They greet you fast and get you checked in right away so it wasn't much waiting around. Each room had different missions that gave you time for the end to Beat The Bomb. I love this love. Will do the Foam mission next.

Signed up for the birthday experience -- foam mission + video game session. It was for my son's actual birthday -- the foam mission was fine, except we waited ten minutes in one room for the computers to reboot and nobody came in to let us know. That was fine but after the foam mission was over, we were expecting to do another hour of the video game session with snacks and drinks. We were told they had minor technical hiccups but ended up waiting 35 minutes before they told us they weren't going to be able to fix it. Very disappointing as this was central activity for my sons birthday -- definitely do NOT recommend

This was so much fun! I've been here twice and I won't stop til I finish all the different rooms! It's very interactive and great for parties! We came here once for a birthday activity and came back again with my nieces and nephews and they loved it! I definitely recommend this to every one of all ages!

    The snack selection

Warning : birthday package is a rip off. We paid $700 for 8 kids birthday package. While most birthday packages include a room - this does not. It is one snack, one drink, security camera footage, and a gift bag. If you add up these items a la carte it is completely unclear what you are paying for. [I'll skip over the - they didn't start us until almost an hour after our reserved time. ] Game = $50x8 =$400.00 Snacks and drinks = $4 x 8 =$32.00 (bag of chips plus bottle of water) Video footage = $30 x 2 teams = $60.00 Tshirts = $12 x 8 =$96.00 Total is $588. We never got the video footage or gift bags (which should have included Tshirts plus more). But they were sure to charge me $4 for one extra bag of chips and bottle of water and just gave me a business card to follow up on the missing items. After multiple emails and calls over 7 weeks, they finally refunded me $120. Not even the value of the items we didn't get.

A variation of the escape room experience. Kids go through a series of rooms with different challenges, culminating in a last challenge to beat the clock before a paint bomb detonates. Just for fun, you can manually detonate the bomb even if you win. They provide kids with coveralls and masks so that their clothes are protected from the paint. A nice activity for birthday parties.

Overall, fun experience. I would recommend. Knocked off a star for a couple of minor issues This place has two different experiences you can book for "beating the bomb". You can end with a foam blast or a paint blast. How it works is that when you arrive, the staff check you in and give you plastic type overalls to wear. These go over your clothes but it was quite warm so we wore these around our waists until the final room. In each of a series of rooms, your team has to complete missions to earn bomb defusing time at the end room. All of the missions were fun, unique, and required team work. If you did well in a certain room you could advance to higher difficulties of levels. In every room, you need to activate it was a wristband. In some of the rooms, you needed the wristbands to play. However, often times there was a delay in the wristband reacting to the receiver and especially in one room, caused us to not do as well as we could have. Despite that, my group had a blast and were excited to get to the end. We actually had so much time banked that "winning" in the last room was not difficult. Luckily, they still let us experience the bomb. I will say that the paint colors are not as vibrant as they seem in online pictures which, while minor, was kind of a small let down. What was cool was that in the end, you get a breakdown of how you did overall and in each room. They also send you pictures and videos of the final room. Overall, if you can get a group of 4 or more together, this is a fun way to spend an hour or so doing something uniquely fun.

I had awesome time here!! This is great for team building foolery!!! First of all the lovely sistah at the counter was awesome...sorry I forgot her name. We got the VIP package for 6. The place is large and well kept. We had apply space to to get into our protective gear. I will say wear light clothing those things get hot. Each room was very interactive and communication skills are must!! Overall Each room was challenging but still fun. The last room is the blast room also hilarious. We got pics and video of the blast. After we changed we received or drink and played more games before we left. This was definitely fun and I would do it again!!

The filthy of this toilet is not at all of one day. this restroom simply does not get cleaned properly

Ask the Community - Beat The Bomb Brooklyn

I haven't play either this or escape room. Can anyone explain to me what we r actually doing in the play? How we play this game? Thanks

You're given a bunch of challenges and have to figure them out before time runs out.

What are the current covid precautions (with the variants on the rise)? What is the crowd size limit? Indoor masking enforced?

I was there today and the masks were not enforced by us doing the rooms. I was only in the smaller rooms with my co-workers who I get exposed to on the daily. Most of the staff was wearing masks!

Is the door locked like a typical escape room? Is this recommended for claustrophobic people?

The doors are left closed but unlocked

Will it be good for a 7 years old?

Yes! When I went , there were kids that age having a great time.

Can you do an escape room/do this entire experience with just 2 people? I dont want to be paired up with strangers so I was wondering if me and my friend could just do the activity the 2 of us

    Yes!

Hi! If I were to book 5 tickets would we do the escape room just the 5 of us or will other random people also be doing the escape the room with us?

It would be just the 5 of you for the whole experience.

Thinking of doing this as a family activity for my son who is turning 10. Will he be able to participate in the games enough, or will my husband, myself and his older 2 siblings end up doing it all?? How difficult are the tasks?

They change the games every month, but I would say it's definitely appropriate and challenging enough for him to get through it. Given the whole obstacle is with a team effort, so requires everyone participation min the group to move fwd.

How old do you have to be to register ? because me and my boyfriend are trying to go but we aren't over 18

Hello Martha, If you are under 18 your parent will need to do a waiver for your before you come which can be found in the FAQ section on our website. As long as your are over… Read more

Is there a preset price for a certain amount of people? Is there any discount for groups for 10 or more or is it priced individually? If so, what are the prices?

Hi there! Ticket prices are per person - $39.95 plus taxes & fees on Sundays through Fridays; $44.95 plus taxes & fees on Saturdays. We do offer group rates for groups of 30 or more! Email our events manager at hillary.manning@beatthebomb.com for… Read more

Is there flashing lights that may affect some people?

No strobe lights. You are in dark rooms with TVs. Also the lasers turn on and off, but they do not rapidly flash.

How do I add a person to my team if I already placed the booking?

Give the desk a call! Let them know what date and time your reservation is for and say that you’d like to add a person to your booking. The number is (917)983-1115. See you soon!

    How much does it cost?

    Including tax, it's about $42 a person.

If we have a group of 18, I know 1 person has to put a credit card down first to book online, but can we pay separately when we get there?

Hi there! When you make your reservation through beatthebomb.com, you pay for a $1 per ticket deposit (so if you're booking for 18 people, your deposit will be $18). Once you get here, we can split up the remaining balance however you like. That $18… Read more

Is there any good places to eat/drink afterwards?

Sea is kind of close but you need to drive there. Great place

Lots of fake blood, creepy clowns, and even some jump scares built in. Definitely use your brain and think outside the box!! The puzzles were really unique. The only feedback I have is some of the puzzles were a bit wonky probably because a lot of people have been touching them so there are things that should be tuned up or fixed. Trying not to spoil so I'll try to be as vague as I can while giving feedback. So there's one puzzle where you have to smell things but everything smelled like the same rotten/rancid smell so my team members and I content differentiate the scents and had to randomly guess instead of actually solving the puzzle. There's another puzzle where you have to turn something but it was wonky from wear and tear and the tracks on them were worn down. Paul was our game master, and did a great job. He also said this room was the hardest one and the scariest one out of them all.

The guys working here are very friendly and entertaining, and seem to care a lot about guests having fun and asked us for feedback near the end as well. Parts of the rooms do seem a bit dated, and there were certain puzzles that did not make much sense to us even after we solved them. That being said, I think overall they were well thought out and enjoyable to work through. I'm still not sure which room I enjoyed more. I think the laboratory had more interesting puzzles to me, and the penitentiary had a lot of moving parts/puzzles that made it a bit confusing in terms of chronology, but that's a part of the fun of a lot of escape rooms.
