They knock the competition out of the park. 8 of us did "Montauk" and it was outstanding. Easily the #1 escape room in nyc and nationally in the top 10%. The degree of immersion and the thoughtfulness of the sets are a big win. Also minimal use of combo locks and the rooms did not feel linear, with people making progress on different puzzles at the same time. The mood is also fantastic with 1980s vibes and stranger things fans will appreciate some of the design elements. There is so much for kids to do! The first floor has a big ball pit, slide, swings and lots of other things to keep the kids busy. My daughter was having a great time exploring everything. The party was on the second floor, and this is where my daughter found her favorite activity -- the bead pool. She sat there for almost an hour picking out different beads and making necklaces and bracelets. She loved it so much and probably would have stayed there even longer if she could! She also really enjoyed building with the wooden blocks. They had big foam blocks out on the terrace too, which she had fun building with. I liked that there was a good mix of things to do. It wasn't only running around and climbing. Kids could also sit, build, create and just enjoy doing their own thing. The birthday room was really spacious too. There was plenty of room for the kids and parents, as well as space for food, decorations and activities. It never felt crowded. I also liked having the bead pool, wooden blocks and foam blocks on the same floor as the party room. The kids could enjoy different activities and still stay close to the party. The third floor was closed when we visited, so we didn't get to see that part. But honestly, there was already so much going on that my daughter didn't even get a chance to try everything that was open. We really enjoyed our time at Space Club. My daughter had a great time at the birthday party, and we left feeling like we still had more to see and do. We would definitely come back for a family day and spend more time exploring. It's also a really nice option for a kids' birthday party, especially if you want a place with plenty of room and different activities to keep the kids happy. Check-in and check-out are very fast and efficient. Once you've created an account on their website, you simply provide your phone number at check-in and again at check-out, and that's it. You can use the credit card on file or choose a different payment method. The only thing that wasn't very clear was how the lockers work. You need to bring your own lock if you want to secure one. We didn't have a lock, and I didn't see many lockers actually locked, but we had no issues. A quick explanation at arrival would have been helpful. In terms of cleanliness, I actually had a very positive experience. During the two hours we were there, I saw multiple staff members actively cleaning the space several times, including common areas and play zones. That said, beads in the bead room do tend to scatter everywhere. While the space was generally clean, the loose beads can be a potential slipping or choking hazard and could benefit from closer monitoring. Outside food and drinks are allowed, which is a huge bonus compared to other indoor play spaces that require you to purchase everything from their café. The café itself is nice, spacious, and clean. High chairs are available, and there's plenty of seating for adults to relax while kids play. The bathrooms are spacious as well, though not all of them have changing tables. Overall, Space Club offers tons of engaging activities and clearly succeeds at keeping kids happy--mine had an amazing time and ran around nonstop for the full two hours we were there. I also appreciated how warm and cozy it felt on a frigid winter day. I saw numerous very young-looking employees, including teenagers, throughout the space, and the atmosphere felt noticeably unprofessional. One girl at the register appeared extremely young. I considered asking her age but did not want to embarrass or shame her over something that was not her fault, so I assumed she was related to the owners or otherwise connected to the business. I do not blame children or teenagers for being inexperienced. Responsibility lies with the adults who hire, train, supervise, and manage them. It was also astonishing that staff apparently assumed I could not understand them because I was not speaking their language. I am fully Albanian and understood exactly what was being said. I have no issue with them speaking Albanian and absolutely do not think they should stop. They simply need to watch what they say around customers because they never know who understands them. That applies from the youngest employee to the owners. Professionalism should not disappear because you assume a customer cannot understand you. Most disturbing was what happened to my three-year-old son. He was cornered by about five children and repeatedly bothered to the point I considered it harassment. One child even asked to see my three-year-old son's underwear. That is wildly inappropriate and disturbing. He is a toddler and should be able to enter a children's business without being surrounded, intimidated, made uncomfortable, or asked invasive questions about his clothing or body. Children will be children, which is exactly why competent supervision should exist. If several children can corner and continue bothering a three-year-old like this, who exactly is watching the play area? Parents pay with the reasonable expectation that the environment is supervised enough for children, especially the youngest, to play safely and comfortably. I was also concerned by what appears to be a broader pattern of complaints involving racism and homophobia associated with this playspace. I have heard mothers discuss these concerns and seen past Google reviews raising similar issues. To be fair, I will not label an entire business racist or homophobic based solely on secondhand conversations or other people's reviews. However, during my own visit, I personally noticed behavior from a few younger employees that I felt implied racial prejudice, making previous complaints much harder to dismiss. I cannot verify every allegation ever made about this business and will not pretend I can. I can only speak to what I witnessed, and it was enough to make me question the culture and level of professionalism being tolerated. I also worry about what would happen in a genuinely serious situation. In a space that struck me as heavily staffed by very young, inexperienced, and sometimes unprofessional employees, I question how effectively an emergency, conflict, or serious incident involving a child would be handled. Hopefully that never happens, but a children's space must be prepared for it. A lack of maturity, supervision, or professionalism may seem merely irritating during a normal visit, but in a serious situation it could have much greater consequences. That is why the atmosphere I witnessed should not be brushed off as harmless. Although my visit was a couple of months ago, I wanted to share it so other parents can make the correct judgment about whether this playspace is right for them and their children.

When we walked into the room itself I was already panicking as I did not see much to start the escape process in itself. Hardly any book shelf's, tables or doors to find objects. Everything had a lock on it so we knew we definitely had a mission. Also it was a bit confusing as some things in the room had nothing to do with the escape room. They do mark the items with a red x but it was very unfortunate. We seemed to have been in the corner room which had a real exit door and real elevator which is not the best for safety reasons. With all the fun and excitement someone eventually will try to open them. The puzzle was definitely a lot harder than we anticipated but it felt great when we worked together and figured it out! We did have to ask for clues along the way and they did a great job of not entirely giving it away and letting us decipher it amongst ourselves. This room is 1 hour but the last few mins is always the best. I definitely suggest a large group for these escape rooms they are so much fun. We escaped the exodus !!!!

Cheaper tickets if you book with more people ($50 if less than 6, $45 if 6 for "Hex of the Chinese Jewelry Box" on a Saturday). With the fees, the $45 price is $49, so essentially it's $50 even for the cheaper group fare on a weekend. Pros: For at least the "Hex of the Chinese Jewelry Box", there were multiple rooms to run around in, which was fun and had more space for the 6 of us (vs. one main room). Cons: - There is a host but they go over general rules before entering the room. Once it starts, firstly the main door was kept ajar the whole game, which made it feel less immersive and I'm not sure if that was a mistake or not on the host's part. - There was an introduction audio once we began but it was barely audible to any of us so no one had any idea what was being said. It was the context to the game, and by the end of the game (don't worry, no spoilers) but we were confused if we solved it because we missed the context and the "objective" of what we were doing in the room. - Dim lighting which didn't personally hinder our experience, but I can assume that those with vision impairment could have a more difficult time I would come again if I can book with the cheaper fare and if I confirm there are more puzzles involved in the other rooms.

While a place for kids to play video games together seems like a no brainer for why the kids love it, for parents it's the people who run it that makes all the difference. They are educators and know how to work with every kind of child. They're also super flexible when it comes to parties and are up for just about anything. My kid wanted a combo of things so there was some gaming as well as nerf guns, water balloon fights and pizza/cake in the backyard. He had the same party the prior year and his friends talked about how awesome it was all year long. Can't wait to do it again for next birthday!

They are good about signage, which was helpful! I booked 8 kids for a two hour experience for a birthday. The two hours included one "adventure" and some craft time. We were lucky that my group was the the only ones booked for that two hour window, so they got to enjoy it as a team. The best thing about the two hour experience: it's drop off. The adults literally cannot stay, there is no space for you. They have your number if some thing happens, but this is designed for adults to have your own adventure. HUGE win. If you have more than 15 kids, there's a party package with a custom adventure, side room and time for cake. They have a deal with the Industry City vendors for food options, which sounded awesome. The CREA team was responsive, answering my queries within a day of me sending an email. They were kind about helping me with options and ensuring we were all set. The space is fun. The room is long and has several zones to explore and collaborate in. There are things to climb and bounce on and zoom. The staff are special. They are kind, excited to hang with the kids, and organized. Feedback from my set of discerning and hopefully not too spoiled 7 to 9 year olds was mixed. The girls (7) loved it, and waxed poetic about the blocks and climbing wall and made gorgeous art. The 9 year old boys said great things about the bouncy area, but also reported that some of the interactive sensor games were glitchy and decided they were too cool for the craft. I would probably be back for a CREA date night (Friday and Saturday evenings). Perhaps not for another birthday.
