This location has been under construction for a long time and finally opened. I walked by and got to give it a try We ordered both the dumplings in broth (chicken and scallion) as well as the pan fried ones (chicken and scallion and mac and cheese) The dumplings are great and the amount of fillings is generous and flavorful. The broth was good too and it wasnt the instant powder soup base used at some restaurants. i personally find pan fried chicken and scallion a bit dried on the edges from the pan frying process but too bad. they do have some interesting fusion dumplings and we tried the mac and cheese dumplings. They are definitely not authentic type of dumplings but i was surprised that the melted cheese and dumplings combination arent bad at all! It was probably because of the soft opening, we got some free apple pie dumplings too try. They reminded me of the fried apple pies The ambience is very modern and clean. the service was great too. Tables were cleaned very promptly. Will definitely return to try their menu items

Wanted to try this last summer and finally they are open For the Price point the portion is small Also if you are getting soup dumplings don't bother with adding the noodles. They are over cooked and do not resemble regular Asian noodles

This used to be a Chopped Leaf then after awhile reopened just recently as Brooklyn Dumpling Shop. I ordered the Pork soup dumplings with hibachi noodles. It was filling and hit the spot on a cold damp day. However the soup was quite salty and also kind of oily I presume from the noodles. It had pieces of carrot, red cabbage, spinach and green onion in it which reminded me of one of the Freshii soups. It came with chili oil which helped offset the salty soup and also added a bit of flavour to the dumplings, which themselves were ok. The staff were friendly and came out with your order announcing it once ready. They have quite an array of choices so maybe I'll try something different next time. However for more authentic dumplings I think you may want to pass and go to Din Tai fan. But if you want cheeseburger dumplings set in a cozy stall listening to mostly 70s music this would be a good spot.

The food took a bit of time, but it was well worth it...homes-cooked in a fast-food setting! Saucy chicken bites were delicious and had a great sweet/chili/sticky sauce all over the crispy bites. Excellent quality for an amazingly cheap price. Coconut Chicken Soup was as good if not better than Tom Kha Kai at family-owned holes in the wall--depth of flavours, coconutty goodness, enough spicy heat, and lots of white meat chicken. Way to go, chain Thai! Chicken Pad See Ew was also fresh, delicious, and with a generous variety of veggies mixed in with the perfectly al dente and chewy/springy noodles! The one ding was that the Veggie Spring Rolls came out about 20 minutes into eating our food. Without any explanation, the "appetizer" was delivered almost as a dessert! (They were fresh, crispy, well-filled, and had a tangy/sweet/sour dipping sauce, though!) Why delayed? No one ever explained. Overall, Rice & Noodle will be my have-to-go-to place whenever I visit Vancouver in the future. If I could, I'd try to convince the owners to expand into the Los Angeles, CA region SOONER rather than later!! Yum, yum, delicious! And oh, so economically priced. (All of the above food was less than $35 USD!)

5 stars for the bossam. The thick-cut, tender pork was rich and delicious. I could have used a bit…read moremore pickled radish and greens to balance it out, but honestly, it was the best I've ever had. We ordered a half serving and we couldn't finish. Dwenjang jjigae had an interesting twist. It was lighter and more radish-forward than the traditional version, which I didn't mind, but it felt a bit unusual to call it dwenjang jjigae. It came with mushrooms, radish, tofu, and thin slices of beef. Overall, it was light and very enjoyable. Soondae was different from the typical version I'm used to. Here, it's made with an innards casing and the filling was also different, like meaty with less noodles. It had a strong flavor and aroma that I didn't prefer but the texture was soft, not chewy, and it paired nicely with kimchi and radish. It was fine to try but I probably wouldn't order it again. We ordered a small, and couldn't finish. Side dishes were limited to three varieties (fish cake, kimchi, bean sprouts) and served in small portions. With the richness of the bossam and strong taste of the soondae, we needed more kimchi and pickled radish but it was hard to get our server's attention, likely because she was busy attending to all the tables. We enjoyed the warm ambiance, and it seemed like many diners were enjoying the army stew. We'll be back to try more items and for the bossam.
