Also tax is blank on the receipt but total is $2.04 higher!

I found the perfect skein of Rasta for a warm winter hat and when I paid the price was not what the label said. The salesperson said "tax". I told her there is no tax on yarn in New York City and she said she never heard of that. I explained that there's no tax on clothing the cost under $110 and yarn or fabric used to make clothing again she said she never heard of that. Incredibly disappointed! If you were operating a business in New York City, you should know the laws. So disappointed that I had to return the yarn, and leave without it!

    Orange custom tote bag

The sewing workshops are awesome! I got to make a nice tote bag, definitely going to do more!

I took the Modern Abstract Watercolor Painting class taught by Amanda Michele on Saturday and it was an amazing experience! Amanda was very kind, patient, and helpful and created a very welcoming environment. The class allowed me to explore some of the potentials of a medium that I had previously misunderstood. I would recommended this class to anyone looking for a way to let go and grow!

I had such a great time in their beginner knitting class. The teacher Amelia was encouraging and really patient with each and everyone of us. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn a new craft. I left the class with a new skill and eager to come back for more classes.

    Leather clutch class

I have taken almost every class at Brooklyn Craft Company. Numerous times some of them. Every instructor is amazing (special shout out to Joey). Through the years my skills have increased all because of BK craft co. I can go home and take what I learned and actually make my own wearable clothes. Its Affordable. Class size is perfect. Really allows you to get individual attention. And their new place/store is amazing! If your thinking about taking a class.... do it!

I've taken a bunch of classes at the old location, including leather sewing, glass etching, weaving and jewelry making.

I stopped by about half an hour before closing to ask about getting a recently bought pouch resized to fit my laptop. Even though I truly felt like a chicken walking around without it's head, the owners treated me with kindness and respect. While I felt sheepish about my request and my lack of of familiarity with all things sewing, their warmth helped me feel at ease. The shop itself is small, as is such with most mom and pop establishments, with Hossein working his magic in the back, buttons a galore in the front, fabrics in the middle, and ribbons scattered throughout. I could spend some time inspecting and exploring each and every texture and color available but didn't want to dilly dally too much before they were to go home. Overall, they were able to take on my sewing request--it was reasonably priced (I think!) and I helped myself to some paracord for a little craft project of mine. Very comfortable space with some people who are experts in their field and provide a very calm and reassuring energy. I'll be back to pickup some bits and bobs here and there rather than taking my business to a big retail store like I usually do. An east village gem!
