Great evening out with a little drinking and painting with friends. I think my painting looks just like the original

I really enjoyed my experience at Painting Lounge in Williamsburg! The studio is very spacious, which makes it perfect for large groups. We lucked out the night we came because there were only 8 people. The instructor Gabby was very helpful with the process, especially since this was my first time and had no clue what to expect. Perfect for date night or girls night out!

The closet I can get to Greece, I was able to paint this. Lol.

Had a great time!! I went with my job as a retreat. The instructor was patient and did step by step with us as a group. We all loved our paintings and enjoyed it.

Such an amazing experience! Came here to celebrate my birthday and had a blast! Chris, our instructor, was so patient. His step by step directions helped me turn my blank canvas into a work of art. The Painting Lounge is ideal for almost any occasion: date night, birthday, or chilling with friends. Regardless of what occasion brings you here, Paint Night is sure to be a relaxing and satisfying experience. I highly recommend coming here!

I can't say enough how great of experience we had as a private party, best instructor ever Riley you made everyone comfortable and we had so much fun. Even with some of us being artistically challenged they all came out great! I recommend Riley and book your next private party it will be a hit. Thanks again for making my sisters birthday special.

Beautiful Brooklyn space, the large room in the back looks great for a celebratory group class. Our teacher was fun and encouraging. I always look forward to visiting a painting lounge and drinking wine but I completely forget how challenging the classes can be. Our teacher was very patient and came over a few times to help our group. I would recommend sitting up front because it can be hard to hear the teacher's instructions or see what they are painting from the seats by the window. They provide cups and a cork screw for your wine (BYOB). I would definitely return for date night or a girls night out.

On a rainy day, group of friends was wondering what to do and we came up with and idea of painting and drinking so there we go. Searched the internet and found this great spot. We had so much fun, definitely worth a try. You may discover your hidden talent.

Wow. We had a great time. Invited a couple of my relatives and friends there to have a drink ( wine or beer; BYOB) and celebrate my 61 st birthday. So much laughter ; so much fun. They even had music !! I ( the birthday girl) did more sipping than painting but a lot of the other master pieces came out well. The hostess did tell me- that I could've had a private party because I had over 12 people ( I didn't know that ) and she said they also would've given me a really good deal so that's Food for thought. Several people called me the following day and thanked me for the invite!! Definitely a do again.

Recently visited again to paint Magic Tree "Summer". The two hours flew by quickly and although this time the class was pretty small (only four people), we somehow managed to have even more fun! The teacher (sorry, I can't remember her name, but she also lead us through the Klimt painting during my first visit as well) is so personable and easygoing. She makes the class a lot of fun and not intimidating at all. Even though the weather was bad and it was a weeknight, she still did not rush us out and pretty much let everyone finish at their own pace. I can't wait to paint at the Painting Lounge again! What fun!

I had no idea how much fun this could be. I came across a groupon and decided it would be a fun activity since my niece was in town. If you look at their website, they have several locations and often have sale prices at different hours. You don't need any experience and this is something everyone can enjoy. Our instructor Chris was wonderful. He gave us alot of tips and tricks and information. I must admit we were intimidated when we saw that we would be working with a blank canvas, but after we finished, we were all very proud of our paintings.

I haven't had this much fun in a classroom setting since Kindergarten!! Through a Zozi deal, I booked a Saturday afternoon class to paint my own version of Gustav Klimt's "Tree of Life" (http://www.reproduction-gallery.com/oil_painting_reproduction_gallery/Gustav-Klimt-Tree-of-Life-1905-09-large-981951732.jpg). I brought my bf here as a birthday treat, and we were in great company with some random strangers, and our good friends, Isabella & Marco. Our instructor, Julie, was so laid back, and sweet, and very accommodating. She let us sit together as a group, and diligently took photos, all while instructing us non-artists to learn how to mix colors and paint the image to reflect Klimt's vision. Of course, at some point, everyone took some liberties to express their natural artistic inclinations and went to town on that canvas. Some were incredible, others were mediocre at best (mine for instance, ha)! The best part was being able to take our paintings home. The BYOB concept is a truly good call, as you can bring any beverage of your choice. Alcoholic or non. Everyone comes relaxed and ready to have a blast while being blasted. It's genius. They offer a bevy of classes for all time-slots, and their website is very easy to navigate (https://www.rezclick.com/paintinglounge/index.php?page=calendar). I would highly recommend the Painting Lounge as a fun experience for any and all.

These painting classes seem to be getting more and more popular. I see pictures of people attending them everywhere. Despite my lack of any artistic ability, I really enjoyed this class. The teacher slowly went through what color to use for each section of the picture. What to blend, and even went around helping each person. I'm amazing at how easily she can blend colors to make it look nice even on my ruined parts of the painting. We used a Gilt City discount, so we only paid about $20. Otherwise I assume it would be quite expensive. I never thought I would have the patience to paint, but this was actually quite relaxing. You can come with a group of friends, by yourself, or with your significant other, but I think it's really great to go with a group of girls.

This is, hands down, my favorite thing to do in New York! I have done 5 paintings here and I intend to do more because they are such good teachers, they make me feel like an ar-TISTE! You really cannot mess up your painting, and you will be so proud bringing it home, especially if you get a frame for your awesome artwork. I've been to this with booze and without booze, and it's a great class either way, and totally worth the time and money!

Most of the instructors were wonderful, offering guidance when I asked and space when I needed it. It is very reasonably priced and remains a true NYC institution. The only instructor I would caution against is Pat Lipsky. I found her conceited and negative, even spiteful at times. If your aesthetics do not align with Immanuel Kant or Clement Greenberg, you may not feel welcome in her class. After she asked me to help set up her studio for a visiting curator, I left the class. From that point on, she refused to acknowledge me when we crossed paths. Still, the overall experience was deeply meaningful. Another problem is the atelier teaching method with few expceptions often corrupts individual talent resulting in work that looks very similar. If you are seeking studio space in NYC there are cheaper options and better MFA programs in the area. Despite all of this there are some extrordinary artists who teach there -- but in my opinion -- definitely not worth the price of admission.
