If I could give 10 stars I would. When we realized the time had come where we would need assistance caring for our 8 month Covid puppy, they were able to register us and start walks immediately. We both went back to work more than full time, and they set up a box outside our apartment to be able to access our pup. They take him on walks that we can check out on the app, take pics, give treats and snuggles, and our dog LOVES his walker. They are also really great with communication, and I can reach Rachel via email or phone pretty much any time. We love traveling but swore off destinations requiring planes because our dogs gets up SO early, he would be a burden on any of our friends if we paid them to babysit. He's also huge. But we are now looking forward to planning a long weekend to Atlanta and a 4 day trip to Iceland in 2021, and will likely be asking them to board our pup. I recently moved to Brooklyn and after my little dog became ill and was treated, she needed subcutaneous fluids at home, but I don't do well with needles and became faint and dizzy during the instruction. Worried about my baby, I reached out to the Brooklyn rescue community for help finding someone to administer the sub q to her. Enter Brooklyn Bark and the AMAZING Rachel. I'm very, very picky about who I let care for my dog, but from the first phone call, I was impressed by Rachel's knowledge and compassion. She asked me many questions about my baby, assessing both my needs and hers and decided that she would come herself to take care of the sub q administration. When Rachel arrived, she came bearing delicious treats for my dog, immediately winning her (and me) over. She was affectionate, compassionate and gentle. She really knows what she's doing, she's a real pro. We needed her for 5 days and every day was great. She was very caring, even taking the time to warm up the bag of fluids under hot water. The process was almost painless for my girl. Rachel also fell in love with my quirky girl and I felt like she wanted to stay and play with her. I will use Rachel again in a heartbeat for any medical assistance or dog walking/sitting I need. I am very protective of my dog, but I got a really good vibe from Rachel and after 5 days, I completely trusted her. I can't recommend them enough! read more

The best people in the world for your pets. They watched my cat Finch for years when I was away with photos and updates. Ever since we adopted our pitbull Ace their great service has continued. Dedicated, trained walkers who do their best to work with your schedule. I have called them last minute and for emergency late walks and they come through. Avoid avoid avoid! They take monetizing your dog to the next level. I had quite a few problems with their over-priced service. Here are but a few of them: When I first signed up, I thought it would be really cool to have the auto notifications and GPS tracking for when walks begin & end, with emailed walking notes. 1. The GPS tracking would show my dog only being walked a few blocks for a 30-minute time frame. I thought this was odd, but then realized it also included picking up other dogs, and a very very slow-walking dog walker. 3 blocks in 30 mins? Are you serious? 2. The walking notes were absurd. "He sniffed around a lot." was one of the many insightful gems. 3. I pre-paid for my walks. They give you a small discount if you do this. Sounds great right? Wrong. My Grandpa had passed away and I needed to board my dog and go out to CA for 4-days. They insisted on charging me for those 4 days even though they did NOT walk my dog. Absolutely ridiculous! Go with an independent walker if you can. They will take more time with your dog, and charge you much less. Let me tell you, the bells and whistles of the GPS and silly emails are not worth it. read more

Do not hire Brooklyn Bark. They will lose your keys. This service incorrectly took keys from my apartment while providing cat sitting services. When I contacted them to return them, it required multiple attempts for over two weeks to get a reply and get my keys back. Then, they lost the official set of keys that I provided when I hired them. As an apology, they offered me a free session of cat sitting. Well, then they charged my credit card anyway. I have emailed them again asking for my keys back, and for a refund for the cat sitting session they offered for free. No reply. Do not hire these people. Peach was not the most friendly dog when they came to take her for a walk, but Brooklyn Bark was patient and seemed committed to getting her more comfortable. I started using Brooklyn Bark about two months ago and have been so impressed with them. Every single person who walks my 60lb ball of energy pup greets him with love and excitement. I get a detailed note explaining their time together. They all seem to know how to handle an overly excited pup and how to use the various walking tools (halti, harness, pinch collar). We have been using Brooklyn Bark for years and I can't say enough good things about them. They have always been so kind, communicative and easy to schedule for our two cats when we are away. Recently we had a house guest go wrong while we were traveling in Europe and after not hearing from her in 24 hours, we panicked over the state of our cats. Because of the time difference, it was 10pm in NYC but Rachel still answered our texts immediately and even went to the office to grab our keys and check on the cats herself that night. She also followed up a few times afterwards to make sure all was ok. I hate to have to write this. The petsitters are great people who love animals. This service looked after my cats for years. The problem: Now they've stopped using the appointment software they used for years with no trouble. The new software resists being installed on most phones (and can't be used on a computer) and arbitrarily loses appointments. It rescheduled my reservation once and then deleted it entirely. At least one employee admitted to me that the software has been giving them a lot of trouble, but they're still using it. It took me a week of phone calls and emails to arrange for them to petsit during my recent vacation. They finally had to go into the software and do it from their end. I'm just making it clear that the company is fully aware that this software is a huge problem. read more

We've been very pleased with the care our pets (2 cats & a dog) receive from the sitters at Brooklyn Bark. We especially love our dog walker Joel. Our dog came from a kill shelter and is extremely fearful of most things, especially walking on the street and other dogs. Joel has been amazing when dealing with her fears and anxieties. He's very caring and gentle, which we can really get a sense of through the updates we receive from him after every walk. We LOVE and TRUST Brooklyn Bark to walk our furbaby. After moving to the neighborhood, we were in a pinch and needed to book a brand new walking services in about two days. BK Bark was responsive to our request, came over for a meet and greet the next day, and got us on the schedule with no problem. During our meet and greet we met our walker (we'll come back to her) and the area manager, Jake. We were impressed that the company sent two people to scope out our place and meet our pup. Jake took in all the same info that our walker did, which made us feel great because a few weeks later our usual walker wasn't available and Jake was able to step in with no problem. Our regular walker, Alley, is the best. Really - she is so energetic and obviously loves animals. I never thought I would be comfortable with my pup being walked in a group (they have a 3 dogs max policy), but I 100% trust that Alley is paying attention and taking care of my little guy and his new friends. My pup gets to socialize, and i don't have to worry. Alley has all the doggo lingo down, and sends the best pupdates about how my pupper did on his walk :) I have not used their other services, but if we ever need a dog sitter, they're at the top of my list. First, Brooklyn Bark is full of responsible, friendly people. I felt very comfortable having them walk my young pittie girl while at work, Rachel and my first walker David were lovely, and Seth did an amazing job caring for her when she needed some medical attention from an injury over the weekend. Catering to neurotic pet owners seems to be their jam. However, I found their services to be a bit rich for my wallet-- They charge $6 more per walk than Mobile Mutts, and an unbelievable $15 fee for booking a walk less than 24 hours in advance. If your work schedule is 100% set in stone this may not be an issue for you, but other companies offer a more lenient scheduling policy. All that said, somebody's gotta pay for the GPS-tracking and the email notifications and the QR codes they use, and I would certainly recommend Brooklyn Bark to my well-to-do friends with 9-to-5s. Me? I'll just set up a webcam with a motion alert if I want to know the walk's precise time. I don't know if it was just my walking route or what, but there never seemed to be any other dogs to go for walks with mine, except when David brought his own dog. I really like group walks for socialization, and although the 1-on-1 attention must be nice, I was disappointed that there weren't more doggie friends for mine to meet. Another star was knocked off my rating for the time the office manager wrote me a long email suggesting I stop crating my dog. See, I had just emailed the walker briefly to say my pup would be outside of her crate that day because of her large cone of shame (same medical mishap as above). I cced the office manager just as an FYI, and she wrote me back a long guilt-tripping message asking how I would like it if I had to be in a crate all day. I was offended-- not only is it my business how I raise my dog and the walking service's job to respect that, but she /likes/ her crate, and my cranky elderly cat deserves some peace during the day. I guess I'm just not a huge fan of the busy-body style-- too many email newsletters, too. When we moved to Brooklyn we were hoping to find a service with the personal touch like we had had in the East Village. Brooklyn Bark assured us our dog would sometimes walk with another dog and maybe two on rare occurrences, but they would take some time to feel her out to see how she did with group walks. We have no problem with that, but wanted to avoid everyday group walks so she got some personal attention as well. Day 1 she was walked with 2 other dogs. Day 2 with 3 other dogs. The walks sometimes happened in the 2 hour window, sometimes did not. A few days later i realized i hadn't set up her walk for the following day so set it up that night and got an email telling me next time i would be charged. Thats fine, but if you have a changing schedule they will stick you with a big charge. They also charge more then our old walker and more than our current walker. The final straw was seeing our walker, luckily not with our dog, walking a couple of dogs. I decided to walk behind to see how he interacted. I don't think i saw him look up from his phone once in 4 blocks. He would pull the dogs that were trying to stop to go to the bathroom as he just wasn't paying attention. I never scheduled another walk after that and no one from Brooklyn Bark ever reached out to see why a new client stopped booking walks 2 weeks after they started. Luckily we contacted Jordans Pet Care next and couldn't be happier. Brooklyn Bark felt more like a dog walking factory, and thats not what we want for our dog. I still see that walker ignoring dogs around our neighborhood and even a week later he didn't seem to recognize my dog when we walked by him on back to back days. read more

We could not be happier with Brooklyn Bark's pet siting services. They have really designed their service to cater to Brooklyn's neurotic pet owners (aka, ME) from start to finish. First, you can schedule a free meet and greet ahead of time so your sitter can get the lay of the land at your apartment and meet their charges, learn their quirks, favorite toys, helpful tips, etc. Then they provide you with a QR code magnet so you know when your sitter arrives and leaves your apartment. You also get an email follow up from your sitter - sometimes even with pictures! - so there's no guessing about what is going on with your precious four-legged children. Chuck took care of our two cats over Christmas this year, and one of our cats is a large, timid, asthmatic guy who needs daily medication. He can be challenging even for us to deal with sometimes so I was apprehensive about finding a pet sitter who could handle him but Chuck did an amazing job. The daily emails really gave us peace of mind while we were away and we returned to two very happy kitties. The pricing is very reasonable too - I was afraid we might end up paying through the nose for our special needs kitty but not so! Everyone we dealt with start to finish at Brooklyn Bark was really kind and obviously a total pet lover. If Chuck can handle our 16-pound asthmatic beast I'm sure he can do a terrific job with any animal. I can't recommend BB enough. read more

Brooklyn Bark truly cares about the animals they work with, the way that you would hope they're cared for when aren't around. We live in Williamsburg and have tried a number of different dog walking and day care options over time (we have a day care option we really like now, but our dog is shy by nature and would rather be alone most of the time if he can't be with us). We knew Brooklyn Bark would be reliable, because they "check in" and out online when they pick up your dog, and you can see exactly where they take him or her via GPS. But that peace of mind isn't the main reason we've been so pleased with Brooklyn Bark. We've noticed a pronounced change in how happy our little friend is when we come home -- more peppy, less anxious, happier. He's not a complicated creature even by dog standards -- it's obvious that the reason why is that the people walking him (who you meet in advance, and are made up of a main and backup person) treat him with kindness. We receive a mini-report from them every day about how the walk went, including whether or not he went to the bathroom and his mood. Mike our primary walker clearly loves animals and is always is conscientious of following any requests we make. The owners of this business ought to be proud -- they not only make their customers happy (that is, show respect for us), but they show genuine respect for the creatures in their care. When I found out we were moving from Los Angeles to New York for work, I was a little nervous about how our puppy would adjust to living in such a different environment. I found Brooklyn Bark on Yelp and called right away to make contact. They were so helpful and immediately responsive. Then when we got here, we had a meeting that was wonderful. The customer service is amazing. You get to book your appointments online, and you can even track your walker via GPS if you want. They have been very helpful when I've needed to do last-minute appointments, too. Our walker is Lazé and he is straight-up amazing. So talented and truly gifted with animals. He is punctual, thoughtful, and I've actually learned some very good things from him (this is my first time as a dog owner.) He's really awesome and I hope he always works with animals in some way, because he is just great. When it's snowy and there is salt on the sidewalks, he puts mushers wax on our dog's paws and makes sure to give her a little sponge bath of sorts after the walk to wash off the wax and the dirt and grime of the city streets. It's been about a month in using Brooklyn Bark and we could not be more happy. The app makes every part of the process a breeze. I was so scared to leave my pup Rufus at home while we navigated going back to the office a few days a week. We do 2 walks a day for now until Rufus adjusts to us not being home sometimes.
