Maria and Doug came highly recommended to me. They are what I like to consider consistent and reliable, not only as dog walkers and people- but for my guy. I have an 80 pound lab/pit mix, being 2 1/2 he is a ball of energy and I know he loves going out with them. It's nice to know that I have people from the neighborhood walking and taking care of Hunter. It's very common for me to see them out and about walking dogs or in their car with them too. They have been walking Hunter for over a year now and they are always there for us when we need them- which is a great feeling. They have not only been great caretakers for Hunter for when I'm at work but a very valuable source for advice and information. One day Maria emailed me and said she noticed Hunter ate his dinner very fast, and told me about possible health problems from this. From her advice, I purchased a slow feeder which has been working out great. This is a great example of them taking that extra step to keep me in the loop of something I would have and had been over looking. I can't say enough great things. We were very nervous about having someone else take care of Ollie and did quite a bit of research before meeting and choosing Maria and Doug. Now we trust them more than we trust ourselves. Ollie loves her as well and thinks of her as part of the family. They are also willing to go way above the "job" because they love their dogs so much. My wife and I were scheduled to go out of town this week (I'm actually writing this from the plane), and we were going to board Ollie at a local daycare. Yesterday we took him to the daycare to check it out and we noticed he was limping a bit. Long story short, we took him to the vet and found out he had partially torn his ACL while playing with me in the park the previous week (at the time he limped a bit but then seemed fine after). We were prepared to cancel our trip because we didn't trust a daycare while he was injured, but we figured we try Maria and Doug just in case. I adopted a black lab mix last year from a rescue down south. Since I tend to be a bit obsessive (yeah, I'm that girl...), I interviewed several dog walkers, bought all the dog supplies and found a vet that I loved before I even submitted my application for Carys (my pup). Of all of the choices I made for my puppy, Maria and Doug are by *far*, the best. Maria and Doug not only take care of my little girl, but they helped me adjust to having a new puppy. They are constantly flexible and have saved me quite a few times in an emergency. Maria spent time with me and helped train Carys. Carys is absolutely wild about both Maria and Doug - this speaks volumes to me. I have complete peace of mind knowing that Carys is well taken care of, and I know that only Maria and Doug have access to my dog/apartment. Simply put, Doug and Maria are amazing! Our last dog walker would take the pups out for 5 minutes and then come home if they did their biz. Doug and Maria always make sure our two big dogs (Alfie and Rosie) get a nice long walk, and aren't taken in huge groups with other dogs. Any time we've been home and Doug or Maria has come to take the dogs, they are genuinely happy to see them--wagging their tails and charging out the door (the dogs, that is). Our male dog, Alfie, is epileptic and Doug and Maria often come over in the evenings to give him his pill if we can't be here. They are quick to respond if we call or text, and have been amazing at accommodating our ever-changing schedule, even if it's last minute. They have taken wonderful care of our pups for going on two years now, and it's such a relief to know we can call on them in a pinch. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a dog walker. Paws down, the best dog walkers! When working with a dog walker you are turning over the keys to your castle (OK small brooklyn apartment) and the leash to one of your beloved family members. Doug and Maria have been walking our dog Lila for 2 years now. They have known her when she was a shy strange pup from the shelter and now not so shy but still strange. They both took the time to come over meet her and learn more about her when they started with us. They have been an invaluable help to our family, as my wife and I have a very busy and erratic work schedule and they are always wonderfully accommodating. They have helped us when Lila was sick-solo walk, needed walks on the weekends or last minute crisis requests. Emails are responded to so promptly which is a great bonus when work plans change. Maria was recommended to us to for training for our beagle, Luna. Luna came home from the shelter with a lot of anxiety, what we initally thought was separation anxiety. She wouldn't go potty outside for over a week, and she howled and screamed anytime we left the room. We went to our vet who put her on Prozac & Xanax, but also strongly suggested we pursue training. Luna clearly hadn't had any training before, not so much as "sit." But with Maria's help, she was a very quick learner! She will always be a shy dog, and Maria was very sensitive to that. But in just a handful of lessons, Maria was able to teach Luna sit, go to mat, shake, high five, and lay down as well as get us started with shaping/clicker training. It has built Luna's confidence tremensely and really helped us to bond with her. The combination of medication and training has been just amazing, and Luna is like a whole new dog and finally a happy member of our family. read more

Tails on the Town is the best. For about 2 years, Doug and Maria have been walking Falco, my dog, almost every weekday afternoon. They started walking him a few days after he came home from the shelter as a 6-month-old puppy. And I do not know what we would do without them. Doug and Maria have not only been reliable, flexible caretakers, but they have also been invaluable sources of advice and contacts for puppy rearing and training. Falco is an anxious soul, and there is no one I trust more outside my family to handle and care for him than Doug and Maria. Anytime we run into Doug or Maria on the street, Falco is thrilled to see them. That is the true testimony to their excellent care - as he is never remotely enthused to see his groomer or vet or even doggie daycare team. We've been extremely fortunate since the arrival of our black lab/mastiff mix puppy Carys a year ago, that Maria & Doug have been a part of her life. She loves them both immensely and is always über excited to see them. It gives us massive peace of mind to know that while we are both at work, Carys is in the very best hands. Very chill, accommodating personalities mixed with an obvious love of the canine variety make it very easy to trust that Carys is well looked after. Whether it is on-lead training, going to her favourite park, filling water bowls, crating or puppy proofing, extra help on evenings or weekends, making sure she has her favourite toy or treat filled kong at paw, they both have it all covered. I am so grateful to have Maria there for my dog Stella. Yes, she is reliable and trustworthy, but she is also caring and loving and really makes it her business to understand your dog's personality. She leaves wonderful messages after her walks, keeping you updated on your dogs adventures, moods and health status. It is so relaxing to go to work knowing that someone like Maria will be checking in on Stella each day. And Stella loves Maria. Maria and Doug are the best. I have two pups and I've never used a dog walker until I moved to Windsor Terrace. After meeting Maria and Magoo outside and seeing how she played with my pups, I knew that she would be a great fit for them. My dogs are pretty high maintenance and Maria has no problem taking care of them while I am at work. She walks, feeds and plays with them 5 days a week. And, they absolutely love her! We love Maria - and most importantly, so does our dog Gus! I have kind of a weird work schedule and she's always super accommodating when I have to switch days around. And it's really great knowing our pup is in good hands and walking with good "friends." (Seeing her Facebook pics of "the gang" and reading her notes about what Gus does every day are really fun, too.) It's clear Maria knows her stuff and always does what's best for the dogs she walks -- she recommended a special harness doe our guy, for example, because he tends to pull on the leash. Maria and Doug are amazing. They are fantastic dealing with our pets. We have had two dogs that thy they take care of and could not recommend them enough. The have taken the patience to deal with our puppy Karua. They show up everyday and leave notes of what happened as well as take care of anything else we need. We have called them from vacation to check on our apartment after a storm as well as to let out our pup when we are running late. We continually meet people at the park and on the street that use Maria and Doug and everyone raves. We were lucky to find them and could not imagine what it would be like without them everyday. Maria and Doug are truly the best. We are so happy to have found them. We tried 2 other walkers prior, and no one compared to Tails on the Town. Maria and Doug truly care about our pup and would update us via text, and often snap photos of our pup on her walk with her crew. They were so accommodating of our schedule, and if we needed to add a walk on a day when they don't normally come, they would always find a way to accommodate. I felt so comfortable knowing our pup was with them. I cannot recommend Tails on the Town more, they are amazing. We would have continued using Tails on the Town, but we moved out of Brooklyn. We've been working with Maria for 4 months training our rescue mutt, Ruby! When we first got Ruby she was an anxious pup especially hesitant of people, and who knows what else. Maria rose to the occasion, and was flexible with times and ended up meeting my boyfriend to get my apartment keys. She has been my dedicated dog walker since that day! The true test of a good dog walker is if you run into them on the street with your dogs and your dogs are happy to see them. The reaction that our dachshunds have whenever they see Maria is insane. If they could, they would do cart-wheels. They are soooooo happy to see them and that's because she loves and treats them like they are her own. I don't know how we survived as a three dog household before Maria and Doug came along. They are caring, reliable, dedicated and honest. They tailored a walk schedule specific to our needs; especially when our Boxer puppy (Lucy) was in her destructive phase. No doubt they saved our home and furniture from utter annihilation by providing Lucy with the daily attention and exercise she required while we were at work. I met Maria and Doug when my labradoodle (Zandra) was 5 months old. They care for my dog like their own; and Zandra is always excited to see them. They make sure Zandra gets plenty of exercise and socialization with other dogs. They have been tremendously helpful with accommodating our crazy schedule and even last minute weekend walk requests. When I was renovating my home or whenever I went on vacation, they helped find a super nice dogsitter for Zandra to stay with. Maria and Doug are great. I have two schipperkes and they can be quite a handful. Doug usually walks them and takes great care of them. I get a daily poop report so I know what happened during their walk. It is very hard in NYC to not only trust someone with the keys to your house but to also entrust them with the lives of your little babies. I have the kind of dogs that would run into the street in a flash if a leash was dropped and I know these guys are careful with my babies because they also LOVE animals & treat them with great care, even if they are a little weird. :) You can trust Tails on the Town! read more
