I had a dog walker for the first few weeks but unfortunately she was getting booked up with other dogs in her neighborhood (I was a bit out of the way for her), so I had to search for another on short notice. I messaged a bunch of businesses in our area to compare prices and see if they service my area in general, QC was one of them. The first message was on 11/16 to inquire about pricing. I was already a bit skeptical after seeing some of the 1 star reviews (specifically the one where someone's dog was hit by a car and the owner responded really negatively), but I thought I'd reach out anyway because maybe this was just a one time occurrence. Boy was I wrong. Although this place was the cheapest, the response from the owner when I originally inquired about pricing completely threw me off and gave me a bad vibe. Along with the other 1 star reviews, I just didn't feel comfortable with the owner and how he would potentially deal with situations when they arise, so I went with another business. I'd rather have some peace of mind when someone is handling my dog rather than saving a mere $10 a week. Today is 11/20, and out of nowhere, I receive these messages from the business owner. I couldn't believe this was something he'd actually send to me.... I was accused of working with Yelp because some of his reviews were moved down???? Completely unprofessional, rude, and I'm so glad I trusted my gut to not move forward with QC.

He was very, very ill. I rushed him straight to the emergency vet where they immediately diagnosed him with sepsis, and he died soon after. It is clear that he'd been sick for a while: Ed and Dawn told me afterwards that he'd stopped eating, drinking, and taking his arthritis meds the day before, and he hadn't even been able to STAND UP all day. Yet for some reason they chose to not reach out and let me know any of this, so he just lay helpless on the floor all day, unable to eat, drink, or stand, slipping into sepsis, and I only discovered anything was wrong when I walked in the door at 5pm to pick him up. By that time it was too late. If I'd known that Ed and and Dawn would ignore such obvious signs of distress from an animal in their care, I never would have brought my dog to them. I've been using these folks for about 5 years and they are the BEST, taking excellent care of first my adult special-needs dog and then my rambunctious puppy (which they socialized beautifully!). Appa has had a handful of photo shoots to celebrate the holidays and her birthday. Plus Instagram posts throughout the day. You can really tell how much they love and care for the dogs. Similar to other doggie daycare spots they have a live camera to check in on your dog. They're pretty meticulous with dropping off your dog and it's so the dogs can all enjoy the ample space. When I first signed Luna up, I got a very useful email about the next steps which was a 3 hour trial that I needed to schedule. When I scheduled, I got another useful email with instructions on drop off and pick up. I love how organized everything is and there's no guessing with anything. There's also an app available where you can watch the live cameras if you're nervous about your dog's first day at daycare or anything. I'm so comfortable with having her at Acme Dog Run and love that I see updates on the app and even on Instagram. You have the option of keeping your dog there for a half day (5 hours or less) for $35 or a full day (5+ hours) for $46. If you're looking to give your dog some fun definitely give Acme Dog Run a try :)

Ruby has significant separation anxiety, so leaving her is always stressful for us. From the moment she arrived, Maria and Doug made her feel completely at home. They kept us updated with lots of photos--especially sweet snuggle pictures--which gave us so much peace of mind. It was obvious that Ruby was receiving not just great care, but genuine love and attention. The biggest testament to their care was when Ruby came home. She was calm, happy, and relaxed, which is incredibly unusual after we've been away. Knowing she was able to feel safe and comfortable despite her anxiety means the world to us. Do I bring someone into my home? Do I take her to my kids' house? And then there's the guilt--why am I not taking her with me? I miss her terribly when I'm away, sometimes even feel heartbroken. I think so many of us feel this way about our pets. That all changed when I found Woofs 'n Whiskers. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. They have two locations, both perfect for different needs. I live in Brooklyn Heights and use their smaller Warren Street location for daycare--it's incredibly convenient. Their other location has a large yard, an amazing staff, and is ideal for boarding. What really stands out is how well they know and care for each dog. They know every dog by name, they maintain clear and thoughtful rules, and my dog absolutely loves going there. She's stayed for as long as three weeks when I travel, and I also use them for shorter daycare visits--whether it's a couple of hours, a half day, or a full day. This business is so accommodating and well run. For example, I recently went to Florida and had a nightmare getting home--delayed for four days due to weather and travel issues. I emailed them, and within minutes I got a response: "Don't worry--we have Buddy. We'll get whatever food she needs. Stay as long as you need." They were flexible when I needed to extend, and equally flexible when my plans changed again. When I finally picked her up, she was happy, relaxed, and smelled amazing--they had given her a bath! This has completely lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. I no longer feel guilty when I travel because I know she is safe, cared for, and genuinely happy. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this. I highly, highly recommend them. Try them--you won't regret it.
