I had seriously struggled since moving to the states to find a hairdresser that worked for me - and had,as such, hopped all over the place trying one after another in the search for a normal highlight. The result was some disastrously stripy sections and terrible / severe regrowth. Emily took one look, showed me the damage - I won't pretend to know exactly what she did, some sort of witchcraft possibly - but I emerged just under two hours later with a uniformly golden mop - and she has since transitioned my highlight over to a super natural balayage. So. Much. Better. She's great - delightful, knowledgable, efficient and very very very good at what she does - I wouldn't let anyone else in Austin touch my hair!

I went to Dede for hair extensions last July and I am just now (December) going back in to get my extensions redone. I have never had extensions last a full 6 months! Even at the tail end of the extensions' lifecycle, I am still getting compliments and people cannot believe that I have extensions. Dede uses great quality hair and does an incredible job putting them in to make sure that they blend and looks natural. I've had very thin hair my whole life, and was finally super excited to have long, thick hair. So this was very upsetting and disappointing. After researching hair extensions in Austin when I got here, I found Dede. She readjusted all my tape in extensions. They never fell out again, and I was very happy! The tape ins were great, but still weren't exactly what I wanted. Dede talked to me about the keratin bonded extensions, which are her expertise, and I was sold. I switched from tape ins to Great Lengths about a week ago, and I couldn't be happier. They look more natural and I don't have to worry if anyone can see the tapes. Also, I now can pull up my hair and do so much more with it. Thanks Dede! :)

She is 100% qualified and clachet (aka classy ratchet; but only if / when you get to know her). She can be an ultra dignified stylist who is super professional, if that's what you like, want, and need. Myself, I go for the ratchet; forget the classy part; that's too dull of an appointment for me. I appreciate this level of ratchet humour, highly skilled service. (She could offer me bubbles, though...but...that'd be me being bougie and classy adjacent...so, Jesus' regular grape juice it is or that beverage made for monks...the fasting fermented calories one...buuut, I digress...). That noted, she is...a BEAST with colour. Don't question this. She knows what she's about. (Debate me! I told you I don't want to share, but I can't lie or joke about this; even if it makes me feel snarky having to admit it; ugh!) I've been asked for YEARS to leave a damn review and I have STAUNCHLY REFUSED. Now, I'm the first one here; argh! Have I ever recommended her to friends...reluctantly, yes; repeatedly. She has asked me to say something nice: Please support this local Austin rising hair institution (your sanity may be fried with humour, but your hair will be RIGHT). Happy, Niky??? Love you, appreciate you, you drive me nuts, and I always wonder who you are when I see you with your other "normal" clients! (Seriously, Niky is that good at her craft and is an awesome human who provides a safe place for ALL her various clients from all hair and personality types to just come and be exactly who they are. She kept her mask on the entire time and worked around my mask straps. She listened to my home salon mistakes without judgement, and talked me through the process so I knew what to expect. I feel so much better now that Keri has fixed my hair! I will absolutely be returning to her for future services. Keri was able to color correct my hair and now I get compliments ALL the time on my blonde. Keri made the color fit to my skin tone... not just doing a standard blonde color across the board. I have an ashy skin tone, so my blonde is now more ashy rather than yellow and it has made ALL the difference. And the color is DIMENSIONAL. I love it. Not only is Keri great with color and blondes, but she also knows what products to use to keep your hair healthy, and she can educate you on what you should be using for your hair type. My hair is so long and healthy now, people literally all the time ask me if I have extensions... and I don't. (*Important to note that Keri does do the best extensions in town.
