She not only went above and beyond what I'd been expecting, she also made sure to center what I wanted-- a cute, glam wash n go haircut that was low-maintenance and pandemic-friendly. Honestly, I've never had an easier haircut, which is saying something for still having hair halfway down my back. I can't recommend her enough. And on top of it all, she uses beautiful, nontoxic products that smell incredible.

Upon arriving to my appointment, Teri took the time to look at my curls and asked questions to determine my hair goals and look at a few cut inspirations. I left with a beautifully crafted razor cut that took my face shape and curls into consideration. Teri guided me through selecting products from Hairstory and Cult and King to meet the needs of my scalp and hair and make the most of my new do. Fast forward to our current pandemic situation. I reached out to Teri to see if she'd be willing to walk me through a virtual cut (I may have attempted a trim that left my hair in a sort of rectangle shape). She patiently walked me through a trim to reshape and refresh my cut. With her guidance, my haircut came out quite cute! I appreciate that Teri always has client's wellbeing in mind all the way from the products she uses, the clean air suite, and all the precautions she has taken to provide services during covid. You can safely purchase any products you need from her site and they are delivered to your home.

At best, we find a stylist who cuts at an angle, understands layering, and maybe dials it up with a razor for texture. I thought I had experienced top-notch curly cuts, and then Carla Estevez moved the bar. I found Carla via a friend-recommendation, and I've referred her many times since. Here's what makes her stand out in my mind: she curates curls like she's sculpting, rather than cutting them in a traditional way. My first cut, I needed a complete reshape, so she did The Usual that I'm familiar with to get reasonable layers. Then she dried it...and the magic began. Once she could see what my curls were doing, she pulled individual curls out to snip, and continued this way around my head as we talked about how the shape was coming along. Because of this approach, I could SEE what was emerging and have input. As a result, I ended up with an adorable angled cut that had lift and bounce and really put my curls in their best mode. I also went shorter than I EVER would have allowed another stylist to take me, because each step, she asked questions, and because of my response, we adjusted. It's been two years now of amazing cuts and I rarely wear my hair pulled back now...it's just too happy to be contained. If you need a curl-tamer, go see Carla. Seriously, you deserve a cut this good!

I have difficult hair…read more It's long, it's FRIZZY, it's curly (but not in that cute-wake-up-like-this-way) and it's THICK. I've had hair stylists tell me I should probably cut it (It's just SO much hair!!!), sigh when they realized they were going to have to style my mane, and others that are just completely incapable of dealing with its sheer weight (I've had a lot of flat up-dos) I met Laura in my early 20's, and she definitely changed my (hair) life. She was patient, CAPABLE of working with a lot of hair, and honest. She styled my hair for my wedding, and it looks FLAWLESS in every photo. She took a leave of absence for a while (after having kids) before returning to work at Dye Salon, and I visited a lot of places to get blow outs in the meantime. They were fine, but when I went back to Laura to make my hair pretty this January, I remembered ALL that I was missing while she was away. My hair felt light, it felt sleek, and it felt voluminous. She knows and understands hair more than most - I basically couldn't stop touching it! She's an absolute professional, and probably knows more about me than many of my friends. i CAN'T wait to see her again! Long story short: Go to Laura. She gets hair.

I just got my wedding photos back and although my bridesmaids hair looks acceptable, my entire wedding album is practically ruined by my hair. I am including pictures so everyone can understand. The iconic pictures of first kiss, first dance, the ceremony... all are tarnished by my bad hair and I am so very disappointed I used Sonar Salon...this mistake will be lasting memory in ALL my pictures. From the front my hair looked ok, even though my part was a bit of a wreck...I mistakenly thought on the day of my wedding that I looked beautiful and my hair was perfect and ALL my pictures would be all that I hoped for.....
