He had a boot on since he tore his Achilles and was using crutches. We went in 4/27 around 8ish at night. The manager who was on site this day DOES NOT need to be working at a restaurant. What an absolute ***** fill in the blank as you wish. They tried to sit 6 of us in this tiny little corner and we kindly asked if we could be placed somewhere where my dad could spread his legs out a bit more. This guy didn't even let us finish our sentence and RUDELY escorted us and to another table where he we began talking to him AGAIN AND HE RUDELY cut us off and walked away from us again. Gave us the biggest attitude, pointed to the table and left as if we were bothering him. I asked our waiter if he was a manager and shared my complaints with him because well if that's the manager and he acts like that, then I could only imagine him if we approached and confronted his behavior. I will never be back to this BBQs ever and whoever that guy is definitely needs a couple lessons in service. As someone who used to work as a waitress herself, I was completely baffled at his attitude especially since we were just trying to accommodate our dad who I must repeat was IN A BOOT AND CRUTCHES. Wish I would've gotten his name but absolutely left a terrible taste in my mouth about this place. Thankfully our server was very nice and made up for that man's unpleasantness.

I asked to speak with the manager. Nadia came over. Her first response was to offer me another glass of water, which made no sense because my concern was the condition of the ice itself. She then offered water without ice. When I explained that I didn't want room-temperature water, she offered me a frozen drink, which I also declined. What stood out most was that the manager never apologized. Not once. I was instead handed a card for 25% off a future visit. After drinking from a glass and then discovering what appeared to be a dead insect frozen in the ice, I wasn't looking for an incentive to come back. A simple, sincere apology and some acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation would have been far more appropriate. My server, Imhotep, was excellent. He was attentive throughout the meal and repeatedly apologized for what happened, even though it was not his fault. His response was actually more professional and concerned than the manager's. The food was good, but finding what appeared to be a dead fly and other foreign material in the ice completely ruined my appetite and the remainder of the experience. I would strongly recommend that other patrons inspect their water and ice carefully before drinking it.

My friends and I arrived at Sho J Oregano's Crescent Avenue location at approximately 9:45 PM. The restaurant's posted closing time was 10:00 PM, yet we were told they would not seat us. Disappointed but willing to give them another chance, we paid for a taxi to their White Plains Road location, which was listed as being open until 11:00 PM. We arrived around 10:00 PM only to be told that they were also closed and would not serve us. The result? We wasted time, money on transportation, and an entire evening chasing a meal at a restaurant that was supposedly open. What made the experience even more disappointing was the response after I shared my review. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or apologizing for the confusion, the restaurant chose to challenge my account. I have no reason to misrepresent what happened. My review reflects exactly what my group experienced that evening. This isn't about expecting to be served after closing. It's about arriving during the posted business hours at two separate locations and being turned away both times. If the kitchen closes early or there is a last-seating policy, that information should be clearly posted online and at the restaurant. Customers shouldn't have to guess whether "open" actually means the business is still serving guests. For a restaurant that has received so much praise, I expected far better customer service and accountability. Great food can earn awards, but honesty, consistency, and respect for customers are what earn loyalty. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend making a special trip here unless you're prepared for the possibility that the posted hours may not reflect when they'll actually serve customers.
