Loaded Bratkartoffeln

Food was a bit bland I would say. Loaded Bratkartoffeln, say that 10 times fast! Basically breakfast potatoes with some chili and cheese. It's a no for me. Next was Sauerbraten, eh. Again a bit boring. Something with red cabbage in it should have some zing!! Meat was ok, maybe a tad dry. Again with a bunch of breakfast potatoes, same as in the chili. Maybe the warm potato salad, which I would not have gotten if I knew about all the other potatoes! Still kind of tasteless. The establishment itself is quite nice! I could snuggle up to the bar for awhile if not for having to drive. Service was great. My kind of young lady. Can take and give a little sarcasm! I like that, it means a lot to me, especially if the food lacks. Page was her name, I fine addition to my experience here. All in all, I don't think I would return, although she did tell me the asparagus dish would blow my socks off, but that's just an app.

We went for the Sunday Brunch. It was great. My husband had the ultimate breakfast and I had the German pancakes with apples. We started with the cinnamon roll. All delicious. Our waiter was great and the ambiance was delightful. Go here! You won't be sorry.

Only part of the menu! Looks good.

A great find to the area. Something different, very delicious and good prices. We will be back. VERY SOON!

We had the 3 course dinner on a Friday night. Sat outside with our dogs on the patio. Great location, service and food, not to mention the spectacular beer list.

We enjoyed a date night and birthday dinner at Alpenglow Bistro. This spot was highly recommended…read morefor their fondue for two, which completely exceeded our expectations. The cheese fondue was substantial, served with bread, apples, cornichons, cocktail onions, chunks of ham, two different kinds of sausages and assorted potatoes, all gorgeously presented on wooden slab. The French onion soup, which we shared as an appetizer was also delicious. Great wine and my fiancé sampled the Vermonter cocktail, a potent concoction of bourbon, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Very strong and flavorful! We finished the evening with a slice of apple strudel, complete with a sparkler candle for my belated birthday. Great presentation! The decor and atmosphere here is stunning with fur throws over the seat backs, roses, candlelight and Alpine themes like antler wall sconces. Bathrooms were very clean and decorated with cute retro skiing photos. After we praised the fondue as exceptional, our server offered to bring out the owner so we could meet her. Our whole experience here was very strong until the end of our meal when then service slowed down, which the server explained was due to a large party upstairs, so it took awhile for us to get our dessert. Not a huge deal. While the owner was great to chat with, she then asked if we wanted to enjoy our dessert at the bar so they could seat a larger party using our table and the one next to us (awkward, especially after spending over $200 on dinner, no thanks). Also, we did not appreciate the 2.5 "operational fee" added to our check! Were it not for these last two points, this would have been a five star review because the atmosphere, food and drinks were great!

We ordered the fried pickles, currywurst, German sampler, German upside down chocolate cake, and tons of beer. Everything was very good, however the sides of red cabbage and potato salad were on the very sour side. My husband, who's of German descent, pointed this out to me and I had to agree. We've also been to Germany, ate our way from Frankfurt to Berlin, and did not recall having cabbage or salad with those sour notes. Loved the German chocolate upside down cake and the beer offerings! Service was amazing and everyone was very friendly and awesome. We will def be returning to hopefully sit outside when it's not monsooning.

The Octoberfest beer was wonderful as well. We finished off with the last piece of Black Forest cake- which was the 2nd best we've ever had (including IN the Black Forest which was just okay). So I'd say go- the food is great, the beer is good and dessert is worth it! Service was fantastic by the owner and the place is super cute - with lots of German steins, nutcrackers and pictures around. We will definitely come back if in the area!
