We have tried Broken Yolk several times in the past because we like the location and outdoor feel. However, we stopped going because the service was so bad that it became not worth it. we sat for an hour (along with the table next to us) waiting for food and then 1/2 of us did not even get the food. 2 people got food and two did not. So then we waited for that food to come later. Other times the service was just so slow (never refilling coffee either) that we stopped going. We decided that we would try again in hopes of the restaurant had gotten better but the service was again so slow and the food was really bad (cold, eggs were inedible). We missed out on our previous visit but I called yesterday morning and spoke to the sweetest young lady "Liz" who checked with the kitchen and assured me that all ingredients for the spectacular Spicy Vegan Bowl were available for us. We arrived a couple of hours later and were greeted by our favorite employee, Robert. He couldn't be more delightful. Always happy and happy to help when needed. Stumbled in here during my trip for a conference. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I asked for recommendations, and my waiter suggested a dish that allowed me to try three different things, which I really enjoyed. The food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the Sweet Trio and upgraded to the combo. I will say it was a little too sweet for my personal taste, but I think that's more of a preference than anything else. My only real complaint was the eggs. I'm not usually picky about my eggs, but these definitely tasted like they were made from a mix/box, and you could tell. I'm so glad I stumbled upon Broken Yolk cafe!! It's conveniently located on the second floor a block away from Hotel Zoso. Broken Yolk was so good, my friends and I ended up going there for breakfast all 3 days in a row that we were in town. The first day, I got the chicken tortilla soup and turkey sandwich combo that comes with a delicious choice of salads. I got the berry salad which I definitely recommend! The chicken tortilla soup was SO good that my friends and I got it every single visit. The other favorite repeat order for my friends were the eggs benedict! Above the food, what I have to comment on is the amazing service by Richard and Pablo! They help serve the bar area which is where we sat since we didn't have any reservations. We continued to sit there every day because of how wonderful they were! You can tell that they both love working with one another and that they are willing to go above and beyond for their customers! Despite a fully packed restaurant, Richard personally went and got my chicken tortilla soup when I decided I want it last second after we had already ordered/received our dishes. The home fries were good too. The only problem was I asked for my eggs poached hard and I could tell as soon as the server put my plate down that the eggs were super runny (because they were jiggly). The waitress fixed on her phone behind the bar, us having to constantly ask the hostess for service. Food was nothing better than Denny's. Waitress said the Bloody Mary special was award winning. I don't mind walking upstairs for food but what sold me was how nice the breeze was the completely flowed through the entire building! It gets hot in Palm Springs and that was amazing to walk upstairs and feel the air! The food was pretty good honestly! The torta was a little too soft to pick up, it just fell apart but that's exactly why we have forks! I also ordered a Bellini and the purée was a little sweet but paired perfect with the torta! First off, I absolutely love Palm Springs. Live about 20 minutes outside of town and try to hit new restaurants at least 3 times a month. There's always new hidden places in this town. Finally waved someone over, ordered and unfortunately forgotten again. After a long wait, the food was finally here and I was a bit disappointed. I requested no onions, but they were there so I picked them out because I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. The biscuits were a bit gummy but the country gravy was quite good. I've been a customer of Broken Yolk Palm Springs since they opened, which makes writing this review disappointing. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was easily the worst I've had here. We were seated at a table with a soaking wet tabletop. I asked for napkins, but no one offered to wipe it down or dry it. I ordered a carafe of orange juice, which is listed on the menu, but was brought a small glass instead. When I asked about the carafe, the server wasn't familiar with what I was referring to and I had to explain it before the order was corrected. The bigger issue was my food order. After a long wait, I was brought the wrong dish twice. When the correct entrée finally arrived, it still wasn't prepared as ordered. My only modification was substituting potatoes for rice and beans, yet it arrived incorrectly and had to be sent back again. By the time I finally received the right meal, my partner had nearly finished eating. The food itself was underwhelming and did not reflect the quality I remember from earlier visits. What surprised me most was that no manager ever stopped by the table despite multiple mistakes. I could see staff discussing the issue, but no one checked in, apologized, or attempted to make things right. To be fair, I didn't ask for anything to be removed from the bill. I paid in full, left a 20% tip, and simply moved on with my day. This review isn't about seeking compensation--it's about sharing an honest experience. I've given this location several chances because I genuinely enjoyed it when it first opened. Unfortunately, service, food quality, and attention to detail seem to have steadily declined. Palm Springs has too many great breakfast options for me to keep hoping the next visit will be better. Sadly, this will be my last visit. read more

Let me first begin by saying that I'm an enormous fan of their La Quinta location. They are five stars. However, this location is not. My first ATTEMPT to dine there, I was in the desert for a few days by myself . As stated, I love their La Quinta location, so I thought visiting this newly-opened location was a delicious, happy outcome of the delay. Boy, was I wrong. I arrived and put my name in. Waited. Saw the hostess sign out with her manager. Watched her clock out and was told I, the lone person waiting in the empty courtyard, would be approached by the manager for seating. All in, I waited another 10, the manager seated me, casually apologized, took my drink order, never came back. I sat quietly for another 10. When I saw other tables expressing frustration of lack of service amongst themselves, I just got up and left. I was finally able ti dine there while waiting for a delayed flight about a month later.
