We are new to Miami and didn't realize this was part of a hotel - entrance is through hotel doors (not the green door one of the signs points at... security guard was not happy with us). Our server was extremely friendly, funny, and had the best attitude. The $7 cocktail suggestions I recommend. They're fun and tasty. The over atmosphere is like vintage/thrift thrown into a backyard but all works design wise. The trees + plants are fantastic. Food was good too- all fresh from scratch. The drinks and creativity here are unsurpassed. The bartenders and staff are true mixologists. The blackberry drink was very good, as was the homemade and bottled gnger beer dark and stormy. The processes they go through to create these fine beverages in mindboggling. I tried a few things off the menu and enjoyed the ping pong and outdoor seating. Lots of trees and various types of seating. This is a cool spot for sure.Great place to chill, not too busy even on weekend nights. Parking isn't too bad in this area, especially since you don't have to pay after 6pm. For some reason the bartender decided to make not one but two totally foul drinks for us. Brought one back to the bar since the soda was flat in it, instead of remaking it he dumped out half the drink and then put in another 2 oz of frangelico and some tonic water. Unbelievably gross and way, way too sweet. Undrinkable. We make a point of heading to the best cocktail bars in any city we visit (we're from NYC) and this place was grossly overrated- maybe it's best for backpacker 20 somethings staying at the hostel but good grief, if you legitimately like cocktails give this place a miss. Huge disappointment. We left both our drinks over 3/4 full, can't say I've done that with any other bar with this kind of a reputation. read more

Unfortunately while I did enjoy my drink at the Broken Shaker we didn't stay for a second and wouldn't return for another due to the seem of a lack of non-smoking areas and HUGE amount of smokers everywhere. After we found the place (it's a little hidden inside a hotel and down a little hallway without any signage that I could see). You head into a little open-air cabana to order your drink. The drink menu was allot smaller than I expected but nonetheless the friendly female bartender helped me choose a drink that I did like. After that we headed out to try to find a seat. It's very cute, all lit up with string lights (all outdoors) and a portion of it next to the pool. It was pretty busy (for a Wednesday evening) as most seats were taken and/or reserved). There were no clear sections marked as I would hope for a place that allows smoking but every section we went to had multiple smokers lit up (and not just vaping but with regular cigarettes). I'm allergic to cigarette smoke and my husband just can't stand it so this was a big problem for us and made us quickly need to down our drinks and leave unfortunately. read more

We recommend buying 2 items to share instead of three (3) we ordered 1 from small 1 from medium and 1 from the share size and that seemed a bit too much (ymmv). GREAT place...probably our favorite in south beach. Amazing atmosphere by the pool, and you have options whether to go to the upstairs bar for beer or the outside bar for mixed drinks. The specials and punches are always good, and pretty well priced (even cheaper if you're staying there). The place looks beautiful and is perfect for taking a few pictures when you're there. The crowd was best around 12am and died down by 2am. The crowd is mixed between people who have found this hidden gem, and international travelers that are staying in the attached hostel. You'll meet some really interesting people, have some great drinks, and enjoy a great atmosphere. This is a must-visit. read more

I don't think I've ever been to a place that felt like millennial central before. But it wasn't your regular hipster experience. As someone from Texas, I can't honestly say it felt like I was at a hacienda or a dinner party before a wedding with everyone's family and friends. It's a very unique and chill experience. You literally sit on lawn chairs; sadly they're not the most comfortable but the ambience makes up for it. If they had a better selection of food, or at least appetizers, this place would be awesome. The octopus tacos came with two one inch pieces and the fish tacos tasted like they had an all spice flavoring and not what the menu described them as. I do like that they have monthly cocktails and specials but something that was really cool .... you can actually pick the spirit and style and they'll make you a special drink catered to you. If you walk towards the back and past the pool, there's a house that has pretty cool mixologist. read more

Love this place. And finally found the name. I came here months ago for the first time but neglected to ask for the name. This place is super relaxed and cute. The have a pool and super cute little beds and chairs you can sit in and relax at. You have to get your drinks from the Bar which was not the worst thing but of course a little inconvenient. It was a Saturday evening. But it wasn't Crazy packed so it didn't feel uncomfortable. The drinks were good and the bartenders are fast and super nice. At least the ones I saw that night. I'm so happy I finally got to find this place again. The outside area is so beautiful and relaxing. I didn't try their food so I can't say anything about it. Not even sure if they have it. But I would totally try it the next time I go there. The other thing I was a little sad about was that they close earlier than other bars. If I don't remember wrong it was around 12-1am. But either way it's a great spot and worth to go to if you have a relaxed group with you or just wanna go on a date where you can have a good conversation and don't have to yell over loud music. read more

Cool place to hang out before or after dinner! Very well located close to a big parking lot where you pay by phone. The bar is located inside a hostel in the beach. It has a lot of seating area around the pool or near their herb garden. The have good music a great selection of cocktails. The also offer small bites to accompany the drinks. This time I tried the patatas bravas which were great! Cocktails cost around $13 and the appetizers go from $5 up to $12. Place gets pretty backed so plan to arrive at a decent time to find a place to sit and enjoy! read more

Let me just say the music was great! It was a cool mix of 70's and 80's soul. If you were under the age of 35 it might not have been so good. The food was decent. I ordered a quesadilla but it was an interesting twist to it. You'll be able to tell by the picture. My husband ordered the tacos. Amazing, amazing bar. Apparently they're opening a Brooklyn location soon! I would recommend all of the drinks, the "sorry trump" and cauldron juice especially. If you don't find anything you like, the bartenders are more than happy to create a custom drink for you. If you're visiting from out of town and end up at a hotel with the address listed... This is a super trendy bar / hostel in Miami Beach. It's a great place for craft cocktails and good conversation. It's a cute hostel which boosts a bar in the pool area along with an inside bar next door. The drinks are amazing and costs anywhere between 12-16$ depending on what type of alcohol is in it. It's a great spot to meet up with friends for a drink to begin then night and head some where else. They place music on the weekends. My friend and I were so excited to come here. All the Uber's we got to get there kept cancelling on us due to traffic so we decided to take the 20 minute walk to get there. We had reservations and when we got to the door they told us they were closed for a wedding. We told them we had reservations so they put us in a different section with some other people that were there. We ordered food I got a falafel burger with fries but they forgot the fries. I had to ask three times to get them. But the food was good. My friend also ordered a burger but I think they were confused and it didn't end up coming out until I was done with mine so we didn't really get to eat together. Then I asked the waiter if they had a certain drink with the broken Shaker leaf stirrer in it and he said no because their drinks are always changing. Oh, this place! I loved everything about it. The vibe was very cool, very laid back and the outdoor garden with the swimming pool was such a great setting that totally matched the simple, creative menu. It felt bohemian and it was a down to earth environment, which I found to be a relief from the crowds of Art Basel. I'm going to order the Falafel Sliders as soon as I go back to Miami next month. I'm not even a vegetarian but if all meat free food was this flavorful and clever then I could totally give up meat. Next was the Chicken Tinga Quesadilla, I LOVED this! Again, simple and clever. The cheese was really crispy, which was such a different twist on the usually melty, creamy cheese you find in a quesadilla. Didn't want to share it but it was too good not to offer it. The Griot and Pikliz taco was to die for. So yeah, maybe not going vegetarian quite yet. Also had the catch of the day taco and loved that as well. The service was so good. Can't recall his name but he was very patient with us, four women on vacation, and he gave us a few local places off the beaten path to check out while we were there which was much appreciated. This place is great if you want to unwind and just have a chill and relaxing evening with excellent cocktails. People are friendly, service is good and the atmosphere can't get any better than this. Recommendation: Don't just grab a beer but try one of their signature cocktails. They were voted one of the best bars in the world. When we got there it was packed and we were a group of 5 but we saw the perfect spot of lounge chairs just waiting for us behind the pool! We had a waitress with short blonde hair and she was sooo nice with an awesome bubbly personality! She was very knowledgable about the drinks and made it easy for me to choose. She did take a while to come around but who can blame her when there are so many people to attend! I will say that when we finally got around to order another round, she was pretty quick in bringing us the drinks. We also played Jenga while we drank so we had a pretty good time! We went a Wednesday afternoon and were a little disappointed when we got there and were told that the only drinks they had were beer but we got to try some delicious plates and had a reason to return another time. If you want to get a good spot at the pool or any spot at all make sure you get there more during the morning.
