Amateur hour! Out of the 20 or 30 times I was a patron of this establishment only 3 times did they seriously mess up our order. Each time I mentioned it to the staff they seemed pretty obliged to replace my food. Except for the 3 rd and last time I will ever go to this restaurant. :/ My friend walked in this time (my friend is slightly smaller than I am but is a very nice looking young guy) for whatever reason they felt like they could totally dismiss his complaint. He first mentioned to the awkward bearded guy that this was less than half what we received the last few times we ordered here. The guy was extremely indigent and stated that " this was a normal portion" when in fact we have ordered together many many times. So we are well aware of the portions and how wildly they can range. The manager simply felt like he could be rude to my friend based on my friends physically nonthreatening appearance. My friend doesn't look like the type that would say anything confrontational. (Not that pointing out someone's obvious error should be any kind of confrontation) I watch out for people trying to take advantage of his kindness. Myself personally I'm not that nice I really don't mind confrontational situations I am happy to set people straight in the right moment. Despite my obvious distaste for their boldness, very calmly I went back up to the counter and asked for our money back. For this less than a half order of severely undercooked French fries. Nobody on their lunch break has time to get the run around like this anyway. "I obviously Won't be returning anytime soon" I said directly to the guy with the unkept looking beard. Trying not to show my disgust with the leftovers he missed. I turned chuckled to the police officer standing to my left then turned to walk out of the building. The bearded gentleman had the audacity to raise his voice and yell at me while my back was turned to him that if I returned I would get 86x This reaction shows the true character of this place . He brought every person standing in that room down to his level and raised his voice at someone requesting their money back. Attempting to bait me into some kind of childish shouting match like a bully on the playground would. I was not tempted or about to engage with him in such ridiculous embarrassing behavior. When a customer asks for a refund and their first reaction is to threaten never to serve you again while taking an abusive tone. obviously there are personal problems that don't need to come to work. If they can't be at least somewhat consistent from week to week they should take a long hike. I sincerely hope this eyesore of a strip mall get turned into luxury apartments sooner than later. The good people of Bellevue deserve something better in this space for sure! read more

My 3 boys ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers and a regular cheeseburger with fries and 2 milkshakes! Customer service was great. Small restaurant with bay like seating for maybe 7 people. It's more of a order to go spot! Everything was fresh, hot and perfect! We will for sure be back it's near Bellevue High School where my son plays a lot of his football scrimmages so he loves a good burger after a long day of football. More importantly the fries where some of the best fries I've had in awhile. They remind me of the California French Fries. Nice and thick! I love burger spots like this! For decades, Kidd Valley was my go-to for a great burger. But several years ago they changed, and they're now just okay. So I was looking for something better, and many people recommended Broiler Bay. My three sons and I tried it for the first time today. Here's my review: Burgers: Very good. Not to the level that Kidd Valley was lo these many years ago, but still very good. I would definitely go back for them. My favorite condiment is yellow mustard, and surprisingly they didn't have that. They had something yellow and very runny. I tried some and I think it might have been Dijon but I'm not sure. Be careful dispensing it; it was so runny it suddenly squirted all over my hand. I was a little disappointed not to be able to put simple yellow mustard on my burger. Fries: Excellent. Delicious and crispy. And cut large. It doesn't get better than this. I'm curious what they do to them. Also, the portion was HUGE. I had ordered two for the four of us to share. We didn't even get through one. My boys are ages 15-20. Yes, that's four adult-size boys and men who didn't even get through a single order of excellent fries. Shakes: They advertise hard ice cream milkshakes. They are expensive at $6. They're very good but surprisingly not exceptional. And they started out melty and melted fast though it was an overcast day and not all that hot. Dick's is better. Kidd Valley is better. Even Dairy Queen is better. I used to make hard ice cream milkshakes long ago when I was a teenager working at Baskin Robbins. These don't compare. Accomodations: Ultra cheap and quite run down. It looks like they went around taking whatever tables and chairs people were giving away for free. Maybe don't think of this as a destination burger place, and instead do takeout. But drink the shake while driving or it might be mostly melted by the time you get home. Maybe take it to Bellevue Downtown Park if that's a shorter trip. Parking: A little confusing at first because it all said it was only for Main Street Plaza, and having come in from the back we didn't know if that included Broiler Bay. But then we came to the sign--and the rest of the small strip mall, on the opposite side of Broiler Bay--and realized we could park there. There was plenty of parking on a Sunday at about 7pm. Summary: A great place for burgers and fries. The fries especially are amazing and the portion is huge. Shakes are very good though not exceptional, and they're melty. Accomodations are disappointing; take these burgers somewhere else to enjoy them. Easy parking for downtown Bellevue. read more

That seriously gets old immediately, and sometimes you just want something AUTHENTIC. That's where Broiler Bay comes in. If you want A REAL BURGER, then this is your place. The inside is old, and the food is cooked in an old-school way (on a broiler with billowing smoke)... It's a little greasy and the tables are small and made out of plastic-covered plywood... but it's so enjoyable. Everything about the burgers is amazing - they're thin, well-cooked patties and you can get it with bacon, (I think chili), and any of the normal burger toppings... I usually get a double-bacon cheeseburger - two thin patties, bacon, lettuce, sauce, tomato, pickles, on a nice/non-descript bun. It tastes smoky and a little charred in a good way. It's rich. It's a little greasy in a good way. It's not organic or grass fed to my knowledge, which is refreshing in the sea of businesses trying to gauge rich people for their money. One of the best burger places in Bellevue that isn't a chain. This place has the feel of a nostalgic burger joint with the classic menu board and signs. It is located off of Main St across from Belle Arts Apartment in downtown Bellevue, with decent amount of parking spots. Walking in, they have covid safety precautions for customers and staff - plexiglass shield, hand sanitizer and both staff and customers must wear their masks. Now about the food, I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a drink, while my friend got a regular cheeseburger with fries. Once we got our food, my friend asked which is which, since we got different burgers. The guy who took our order told us they're both the same. He apparently forgot that I got one with bacon. He realized his mistake, apologized and added the bacon to my burger. I like how they give a good amount of fries and also two types of condiments - ketchup and ketchup/mayo. My order definitely filled me up. Overall, even though he forgot what my order was, it was fine since I wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere at that time and he fixed it. I'm sure he was just exhausted from the heat of the weather, plus the heat of the grill! It definitely was not in there, even with the door open. It was such a pleasure to discover a great, down to earth burger spot in downtown Bellevue. Friendly staff and great food at a fair price. What more can you want from a burger joint? Some of the best onion rings I've had in a long time and the burger was excellent as well. The location seems vintage 1960s and is surrounded by the large, soulless apartment complexes you now associate with downtown Bellevue, so I'm not sure how long before it also succumbs to developers. I've been here a few times, twice recently. All I wanted was a great burger, fries, and shake. What did they deliver? Exactly that! I get the bacon cheeseburger. It is delicious, cooked just right, the bacon is perfect. I'm not a big fan of their sauce, but that's a personal preference thing, so I get it without. The fries are delicious, done just right, and aren't greasy. The portion is very large. The shake is the perfect complement. Every time it's like this. My son got a burger with a sunny-side-up egg on it, and that was done beautifully. The service is pleasant, efficient, and helpful. I love how they interact with the regulars, but they treat strangers like me just as nicely. We do takeout, so I can't comment on ambience. One of the cooks has a long beard. The cook does not attempt to cover his beard in any way. This is likely a food safety violation. While the cook does keep the beard clean and nicely trimmed, his beard is long to the point that one of or multiple of his hairs can get into the food.
