Just dined at Broginos and it's pretty overpriced. We were charged $21.00 per drink (cosmo and lemon drop with Ketel one). Seems pretty excessive imho. FWIW be warned. Food was barely acceptable (too salty and bland), however service was slow and lame. Our FIRST waiter was clearly never a waiter and didn't know the first thing what to do. When he finally did arrive he asked us what food we wanted to order before anything, like drinks or appetizers. Our SECOND waiter delivered drinks. Our THIRD and final waiter delivered the food. I asked him for silverware when he delivered my food but it never came which forced me to ask another waiter who quickly helped out. So, in summary, one $25 a la carte + one $35 "complete meal" (with soup and salad) + 4 drinks at $21 comes to $179.00 plus a $26.89 tip = $205.85. Anyway, the drink prices seemed excessive imho, especially considering the relatively poor service and unremarkable overpriced food. The last waiter said they just raised their drink prices recently. Well, perhaps it would be kind to inform your regular customers of that little fact beforehand. read more

We were really excited to try this place. They sat us within an acceptable amount of time. Brought us bread. Then, never came back to the table. We sat for 20 minutes while other people around us were being greeted and drink orders taken. Both my wife and I used to be servers and understand it gets busy, but it wasn't and the people who were sat after us got their orders taken and we were ignored. We ended up walking out without even an acknowledgment that we were there for anything other than their their stale bread. read more

Our server, while very attentive and personable, needs to do better with his mask. All other staff I saw were 100%. A bit surprised that they haven't converted to paper menus. read more

Stopped by with a friend for dinner. Sat at the bar and was greeted by a fellow named Mike. Very friendly, personable, and attentive. I ordered the "Something Different" and he got the chicken parm both a la carte. Portions were generous and food delicious. I greatly enjoyed my meal but definitely going to get the chicken parm next time. The vibe of the restaurant is has that classic Italian restaurant feeling mixed with the homeliness of a mom & pop joint, with a dash of Virginia yard sale to it. Brogino's is a good solid restaurant. For Italian food, it's one of the only ones in the North Redondo Beach area that services the residential neighborhood that has an authentic home feel to it. The service is good, and the food portions are huge. The prices and quality are good. The service is friendly, 'tho I think it has a family styled business staffing, where if/when they're busy I can see them being short staffed and overwhelmed, but come when it's not traditional dining hours and it's seamless. I'd recommend the "complete" dinners when given the option, as you get the home made Minestrone Soup as well as a fresh Garden Salad. I almost always take home leftovers from here, so when you get the complete meal, those give a great variety to the meal and allows you to take home even more. The spaghetti with meat sauce, 'tho a basic dish, is done perfectly. I walked by others eating their pizza and that's inspired me to try it the next time based on scent and appearance. Having driven by this restaurant many times, we looked forward to finally trying it at the recommendation of a good friend. There is a tiny area next to Brogino's with a few spaces, but also plenty of parking on the street. The interior is reminiscent of the quaint cozy Italian restaurants in Chicago. We were greeted warmly, and given a nice table. The menu is incredibly extensive with many variations. Of note, there are numerous combinations. If you can't find something that whets your appetite, you must not be hungry. There is a full bar menu and good wine selection. Omar was our excellent server. Make sure you come hungry because you'll start off with delicious garlic bread, followed by minestrone soup and salad if you order a full dinner. My wife had scallops and shrimp in a lemon caper sauce with angel hair pasta. I was looking forward to the combo veal and scallop parmigiana with a side of pasta and meat sauce. The portions were very generous, and the prices very reasonable. We were too full to sample their desserts, but next time. All in all, we had a very good experience at Brogino's and look forward to a return visit. read more

A nice comeback for this place! Ate @ Brogino's last night for the 1st time since sometime in the mid-1990's. At the time I had a really good experience. However, I never got a chance to go back before I started hearing that the place had gone downhill. Fast forward 2 & 1/2 decades, and my friend surprised me by suggesting it last night. When I expressed said surprise, she said that they've now gotten better again, so I was glad to give it a clean slate and try going back. My friend was right. Atmosphere was still great, service was prompt & friendly, & the food (I had shrimp parm) was delicious (& plentiful), as was the soup, salad, & garlic bread that came with the full dinner. My fiancé and I come here often because it's a 2 minute walk from our home and the lemon drop martinis are to die for. The Good- cozy feel good atmosphere, great music selection, food is good, I've never had watery or mushy pasta, fiancé claims the fettuccine is "the bomb". I always order a complete meal because I really enjoy their soup, the salad is hit or miss. I've read a lot of complaints about the breaded meal selection (veal, eggplant etc and lamb) so I've stayed away from those dishes, but the pasta is solid. The bad- I noticed that depending on what time of day you visit you will get treated differently, or, maybe they've read enough bad reviews about their service and have decided to be friendlier? Not sure, but I have gone in and felt unwelcome and rushed, but we've shown up an hour before closing. And then there's times where they're extremely friendly and attentive, but I've shown up 2 hours before closing. I believe the owner is "friendly" enough and polite, he's not a kiss ass, in your face overly friendly, and I'm ok with that, as long as he doesn't mess up my lemon drop martini. :) read more

Inside is dimly lit, and the booths and tables can accommodate several guests but are really set up for couples looking to sneak away for an intimate dinner for two. Came to dinner made reservations online got to the place , waited 10 min for someone to come to the door we gave him the name he leaves and comes back 15 min later for them to tell us they were at capacity. Not to mention they were rude af didn't offer an Apology or offer us to wait until I asked but at that point the guys vibe was not friendly . We left ... So then since we were starving I tried to make a new Reservation on open table but since Broginos had already accepted my reservation I was not able to make a new one. I calles them back to ask if they can decline it on their system and the guy was even ruder on the phone talking over me and being defensive . I'm from NYC so I might be biased but this little red sauce joint is the kind of place that was probably good a couple generations ago, but since the South Bay is completely devoid of simple, family Italian sit down spots, it is still here. All the parms I had were under seasoned and bland. Picatta not balanced at all. Ravioli tasted like the ricotta was going bad. Pretty much everything was not great. I recently took the leap to start my own business and my boyfriend and I chose to celebrate at Brogino's, since I love Italian food. We made a reservation and walked into the restaurant and were disappointed when no one greeted us. After several minutes, my boyfriend asked the bartender if we could be seated and he acknowledged us (finally) but we ended up waiting a few more minutes before being seated. They seemed short-staffed, which I understand can be challenging (I worked as a server for 5 years), but it was frustrating to look over and see a man we assumed was the manager casually chatting up a couple at the next table while we waited several minutes to be greeted by our server and then waited for our drinks (water and a bottle of champagne). The food was disappointing (i.e., salty and basic - similar to a frozen meal from the grocery store) despite ordering two dishes off the "House Specialties" part of the menu. I'm truly not a picky eater and I wanted to enjoy the food but it just wasn't good. Overall, though we wanted to enjoy the night and the unique ambiance of the restaurant, our experience was ruined by both the poor service and the disappointing food. Meat sauce? No way, José. This is not meat sauce. This is a tomato and onion bisque atop a taco crumble of meat. Horrible; by far the least appetizing meat sauce dish I've ever eaten. Meat sauce is a very simple dish, man. I don't know how you've managed to disrespect it so intimately. The only explanation I could imagine is that the onions take up more space in the dish, leaving much less space to be filled by the meat (aka the star of the dish). I ordered meat sauce with spaghetti and I was delivered a plate of onions and glazed in tomato paste. Thank you for ruining my night! read more

We wanted tasty pasta and decided on Brogino's, which has always been reliable for amazing sauces. We ordered the meat sauce linguini and added a large sausage pizza to share. Picked up and brought home-not comfortable with "outdoor dining" still. My daughter and I both adored - even salivated over - the meat sauce, but really didn't enjoy the pizza. The sauce was good but was completely lost in the super thick bready crust. It used to be so good and authentic but this was not. We were in there a few weeks ago with a party of 20 and dropped over $1200 on the meal and that didn't include what we all spent at the bar while watching the end of the Lakers game. The food and service was good. Most of the party left and there was a few of us left at the table just relaxing and finishing our drinks.
