I've been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm so glad I did. We celebrated my daughter's confirmation there and even though our dinner started on the later side due to the ceremony ending at 8:45, the restaurant couldn't have been more accommodating. Every staff member we encountered was kind and cheerful. The food was delicious (our favorites were the meatballs, super saucy cacio e pepe, and the chicken parm with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus). Our group really enjoyed the pizza as well. The vibes in the main dining room were lively and the back patio, where we had our reservation, was more private and peaceful. This place is a great addition to the neighborhood! read more

The service is great. We were seated promptly, immediately served water, and asked if we wanted other drinks. Overall, this is a smaller restaurant with a large bar therefore the noise from adjacent seats is very loud when it's busy. It makes table conversation a challenge but it has a nice, lively energy and vibe. The Caprese salad was delicious., I highly recommend. Ciabatta is an added charge. The Carbonara wasn't great. Tastes like it was made with a milk cream and not the traditional recipe. I was disappointed. The Bolognese was ok, but lacked density and richness. We added a lot of Parm to bring out the flavor. We had to ask for Parm and they bring a small tin cup of it. I ordered the special. It was fair but the Branzino at Zane's is better. My wife has been talking about this spot for a while, one of her friends from Italy has been hyping it up like it's the second coming of Naples, so expectations were properly calibrated. We decided to run it as a Saturday night movie-night takeout play. To their credit, my wife let the person on the phone call an audible and build out a "best of the best" order. Respect. We landed on: Spicy Antonio Pizza - a beautifully blistered crust with that perfect balance of chew and crisp, topped with spicy Italian sausage, chili oil, and just enough heat to wake things up without blowing out your palate. This thing had attitude. Spicy Penne Vodka - creamy, rich vodka sauce with a subtle kick, clinging to perfectly cooked penne. Comfort food with a little edge... exactly what you want on the couch with a good flick. Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara - textbook execution. Golden brown crunch on the outside, molten, stretchy mozzarella on the inside. No shortcuts here--these were dialed in. Bottom line: the food flat-out delivered. Pizza was legit, pasta was strong, and those mozz sticks? Dangerous. Only reason this isn't a full 5-star banger... the total. Fantastic pizza, delicious dishes, handcrafted drinks, and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy dinner together. We'd been once before, but we were in the back for an event - we loved the dishes we tried, so we had it on our list to visit the next time we were in town. Our daughter's friend was performing in a high school musical close by so it worked perfectly to stop by LoZio's beforehand. The service was friendly and the atmosphere made you feel like you were invited into their little community. I had my eyes set on a pizza and beer and both absolutely hit the spot. The pizza crust was just right - a bit bubbly and crispy where needed, and the sauce was different than the norm, but in a very good way. The bruschetta kicked us off and the tiramisu and an espresso finished our meal. Hayley of course had to pose with the Tiramisu as it's her favorite. I walked in on a Friday afternoon during lunch hour. The place was completely empty while two young ladies were at the bar handling glasses and utensils. I approached them, made eye contact and they continued working without acknowledging me. I stood by the bar for a minute or two when one of the young ladies asks if I'm there to pickup. I said I was dining in and she told me to pick where to sit. I took a seat and one of the young ladies came by with a menu and some water; she said she'd be back in a moment to take my order. 10 minutes later, she came back to take my order. I felt my wait was excessive as I was the only customer there. Not sure what made the wait so long. Nonetheless, I placed my order and thankfully everything came out in a nice timely manner. I started with the Nonna's meatballs, which were honestly so delicious! I wish it came with even one bit of bread so I could mop up the sauce with. Next, I dug into the Margherita pizza. The pizza too, was outstanding! I like a little kick with my 'za, so I had to get up and find my own red pepper flakes. I didn't see any Parmesan or oregano to add, so I assume they don't offer it. I'm shocked by the high reviews for this place but there are also many lower reviews which make sense... the location of this restaurant is kind of good, near the beach literally across from Veterans Park. There is metered parking outside and the place has lots of seating inside and outside patio. The food is very MEH.... The mozzarella sticks just taste like frozen ones heated up in the oven, Caesar salad was just ok and very overly dressed.... The pomodoro was probably the best thing we ate here but that was also just meh and really didn't need the melted mozzarella on top.... The pizzas were both meh....the margherita was alright and the waitress recommended the ricotta with mushroom one as a best seller but it was so bland and just a mess of mushy ricotta with no taste... The chocolate gelato was decent but the cherry one tasted just like cough medicine... I don't think I'll be going back here... read more

Walked in right as they were opening. Was greeted by friendly staff and told we were perfect timing because they offer happy hour! We knew nothing of this place, we had been customers of the old restaurant prior to their opening. The space felt familiar and intimate with some changes, but was clean and cozy. Tried this place the other day for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro and added meatballs. It was delicious. The sauce tasted fresh and flavorful, definitely good quality tomatoes. The lady next to us had the bruschetta and it smelled so good. Definitely will be going back to try everything else. The only thing that was kind of a pain was the parking. They have a tiny parking lot in the back but they share it with another business so there's only like 4 stalls designated for the restaurant. Luckily it wasn't too crowded so we found metered parking nearby. But if it gets busy like in a Friday or Saturday night, might be a nightmare. I booked my most recent visit for a large group and the owner let me reserve a space on their back patio, which was perfect for a casual spring evening hangout. LoZio is located in the same building where Pura Vita used to be. There's metered street parking, which can be inconvenient since they don't have their own lot. We came at a time when they weren't busy, so parking wasn't an issue for us. The front windows & doors were open, so it was breezy inside. We were greeted and told we could sit anywhere we'd like to. We chose to sit near the open windows. When you walk in, the bar is front and center. There are tables surrounding the bar and an outside area with a nice patio set-up. We came on a Sat. at around 12:30 and our server gave us several menus including one for brunch. After checking out the main menu, we decided to start with some Spicy Chicken Wings and put in the order while we decided on which pizza we wanted. We eventually chose and ordered the Spicy Antonio. We know wings take a while and pizza is pretty quick, but we hoped to have time to eat some wings before the pizza arrived. Nope. Both arrived within a few minutes of each other. I was a little disappointed. Pizza gets cold pretty quick, too! The wings were Spicy Italian Buffalo Wings. They were pretty tangy. They were okay, but we probably wouldn't order them again. We enjoyed the celery sticks and carrot sticks which we dipped in the Ranch Dressing. The pizza has a great crust. As for taste overall, the sauce and toppings were scrumptious. This pizza has a hint of honey, but I don't think I really noticed it. We added our own spicy hot honey we brought with us. I think it's a little to thin near the center because when you pick up your slice, it droops pretty sadly. It's better to handle if you fold it in half before taking a bite. I rarely hold a slice of pizza and eat it that way. I use a fork for my bites. As I loaded the tip of the pizza onto the fork, it just drooped. It wasn't at all crisp or sturdy. I couldn't even poke it with the tines. TIP: They offer a Gluten-Free pizza crust for $5 extra. Our server kept telling us how he liked certain items, but the more he talked about the menu, I got the feeling he liked just about everything the restaurant offers! Would give this restaurant 3.5 stars in total. Some areas could be improved upon overall but currently not one of our first picks for food in the area. For drinks we got the Hugo spritz and cold rush. Overall both were good, Hugo spritz was quite sweet though. The mozzarella sticks were good but at $3 a stick seem a bit over priced for 5. Cesar salad is fine, good portion. Cacio e Pepe is as expected, heavy cream sauce with a thick pasta. Spicy Penne Vodka is decent flavor but definitely does not seem worth the price for what you get. They really need a protein option. The breakfast pizza is definitely a skip- it so salty and potato would be better with a little crunch to it- either the potato slice more cooked or more like a hash brown would help. The Ricottina was definitely missing something. Apparently you can't make any adjustment to a specialty pizza only customs. The pistachio cake we got was good, little bit of a small size for the price but quite tasty. The service was decent and food didn't take too long to come out. Both paid and some free parking around the area. Not quite why it took so long to get a table as the place was nearly empty in the back where we requested and still had at least a 10-15 min wait. They would benefit from getting a few more heat lamps outside to as we lost ours for another table despite having a stroller with us. So overall some areas to improve upon and not within our top pick for the area but drinks are decent and some of the other pizzas we have had before were better read more

I tried this place, on a recommendation from a friend. It did not disappoint. Full bar! Great cocktails. Local beers! The ambience and lighting are perfect for a casual, yet nice night out. Large patio in back with heaters and fire pits. Great for couples or groups or even belly up to the bar solo. Three of us split a pizza (Quattro Formaggi with white sauce) two pasta dishes (Spicy Penne Vodka & Carbonara) and a Ceasar Salad. I think what I liked best about the food is that they let the core ingredients do the talking. They dont over do it with salt and other enhancements. Portions are perfect. Not over or under sized. Cool hangout if you're looking to enjoy some ocean breeze and decently authentic Italian food. We tried the All You Can Meat Pizza, which had fresh, juicy toppings on a thin, crispy crust. It was definitely greasier than pizzas I've had in Italy but still quite good. We really enjoyed the hot veggies with mozzarella and the Peperonata, and the Italian sausage almost had the flavor and goodness of a kebab! Great Location across Catalina Ave & Veterans Park. They have a lovely pet friendly patio in the back which they seem very proud of! Amazing experience! Located across from Redondo Beach Pier, this place was easy to find. We were a group of 6 and strolled in around 8pm on a calm Sunday evening. We walked up to the host and were able to get seated right away on their outdoor patio. The atmosphere and ambiance were welcoming, modern, and very clean with a full bar as soon as you enter. Itsyarit was our server, my apologies if I spelled that wrong, and she was amazing! Very friendly, approachable, and offered great insight and recommendations from the menu. Jorge also assisted our group with outstanding customer service that made us feel welcomed and informed of the great qualities here at LoZio Osteria. We learned the owners are Italian and import their flour and olive oil from Italy for a genuinely authentic experience. The menu, although simple, catered something for everyone's taste, starting with Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, and Cheese Pizza for the kids. I was craving a Caesar salad, which is what brought us here, and it was everything you'd expect with quality cheese and croutons. Our group went on to order Fried Calamari, a Caprese Salad, Spicy Penne Vodka with chicken, Pepperoni Pizza, Prosciutto e Rucola and Ricottina Pizzas (we did things "Family Style"). Fries were yummy and crunchy. Mozzarella Sticks were delicious with a seasoned coating, slight crunch, and good cheese pull; honorable mention for the marinara sauce. The Fried Calamari was also very good in flavor, portion, and texture. Both salads were incredibly simple, yet the freshness, presentation and quality ingredients made it flavorful and refreshing. Definitely recommend both salads to start. The pizza was phenomenal all the way around. So simple and so delicious. THE CRUST!! We requested a side of minced garlic and olive oil to dip the pizza crust and HOLY PASTA that was an experience. Definitely recommend. The pepperoni pizza was the first to be devoured because it just hit all the marks. The other 2 pizzas were a flavor and texture bomb - I loved each and every bite - the cheeses, the meat, the toppings properly portioned. Just overall satisfying because the crust did not overpower the toppings and the combination was perfectly balanced. The Spicy Penne Vodka was so good. The sauce, the pasta, the chicken - absolutely delicious. The sauce was phenomenal and really made this dish stand out. They have a limited beverage menu, so we were all satisfied with water served at the table. As for the alcoholic drinks, we ordered a Gin Sour and Lemon Drop Martini. The bartender was bartendering. The drinks were crafted so well, we were all amazed and had to get up and send our compliments! Never thought a drink could taste so exceptionally good and set a higher standard like it did at LoZio. I've had Lozio's twice - dined in once and also got take out. Both times were good but dining in was better of course. We tried the pizza and chicken milanese. The pizza was delicious (especially the prosciutto and burrata pizza). Love that crust with a bite! The menu is large and the service was excellent. Came here last night after seeing the restaurant's post. Everyone is hurting but now more than ever we need to support local. I came here with an associate and let me tell ya. Our waitress was a VIBE. She's from a France and her accent made me feel like I was back in Europe. Her name is Sevviine (hopefully I spelled that correctly). They have quite an extensive menu-and there were sooo many dishes I wanted but I can only eat so much. So, I had the red velvet spritz which had a delicious sugared pomegranate flower which was tasty and refreshing. We treated ourselves to their mushroom truffle pizza and the truffle was not overpowering. It was the right amount of everything. So delicious-we ate the whole pizza! We also got the charcuterie platter which was also very good. I have a sweet tooth so I HAD to get the tiramisu. It was so light and fluffy. I was in heaven. This location reopened with one of the owners of prior restaurant (Pura Vita) and instead of vegan Italian it's just straight Italian. This place is fantastic. We had the meatballs, cacio pepe, margarita pizza and tiramisu. Everything was A+. The service was great and good price. They have brunch on weekends and happy hour on weekdays. I highly recommend if you like Italian food and live in South Redondo and surrounding areas. Side note, the ambiance is great with great lighting, outdoor patio and full bar. read more

I had really high hopes for LoZio, but when all was said and done our party was somewhat disappointed. We heard a lot about the pizza so we ordered a margarita with an order of calamari for appetizers. Both were excellent. We were excited about our entrees and ordered lasagna, carbonara, and pomodoro and a Caesar salad. Good representation. Salad...too little dressing. Better than the alternative..but overall disappointing. Could have asked for more dressing. Our fault. Pomodoro...again, sauce was light. Could have ordered extra on the side but didn't want to disrupt the evening. Carbonara, our friend's goto when checking out a new Italian restaurant, felt like they added cream to the pasta when a true carbonara doesn't use cream. She didn't finish. She felt it was gummy. Disappointed And finally the lasagna, pictured here, looks moist because of the sauce loaded on top...but was a dense mound of pasta. Very little sauce was added in between layers. Loved the fact they made a traditional lasagna vs just plating layers of pasta, cheese and sauce under a salamander. Bummer. Overall, it was about a 3.5* experience, but since they are so new, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and go up to 4*. My wife and I went for lunch today and had the meatball sandwich and the lasagna. The meatball sandwich was really good - nice fresh bread and 4 decent sized meatballs. It's probably one of the best meatball sandwiches we have had. The lasagna was also good but not amazing. For $27, I would expect it to be amazing. The portion size was average. The presentation was really nice - see the attached pictures. Overall I think this restaurant has potential but I see a couple issues. I asked if the chef would consider pineapple as a pizza ingredient. The server said the chef was not interested in having pineapple on the menu. This reminds me of the chef from 2 previous restaurants before this - Enriques - who would not make any substitutions no matter what. They didn't last very long. Hopefully this answer from the server is no indicative of the chef being so rigid. My kid loves his ham and pineapple pizza and want to bring him there! Another issue was that they charge $5 for an 8 oz bottle of Diet Coke. That's just really annoying. If you going to do the bottle/can thing, how about $3 for a 12 oz can or $5 for a 16-oz bottle? They have some kinks to work out, but I think this could be a great option for italian food in Redondo Beach! I will update my review after a couple more visits. I see myself being a regular, but more likely for dinner rather than lunch because of the prices. They should consider a lunch menu as well. read more
