We recently moved out after being a long time renter. We had a unit for over 5 years and…read moreconsistently kept auto billing on our account. Affordable Family Storage has changed management more than once in the past couple of years, one being to Cubesmart and temporarily rebranding. Affordable is, well... not so Affordable and length/term of renting is not valued by the company at all. Our unit rate was raised twice over the last 6 months. We started the year at $112, which was not awful given our beginning rate that was only modestly raised over the past couple years. February brought us a new rate of $128 which although, not fun... things have gotten more expensive. Fair enough. Now 30 days ago we got an email saying our rate would be going up to $166 which was $177.62 after taxes. I promptly contacted management and was told they were trying to make repairs and upgrades, but they didn't seem to have any interest in keeping our business at a more reasonable, market rate. Given the size of my unit (10 x 10) I submitted notice I would be moving and quickly found units double the size for what would be my new rate. I found one for far far less at a normal and not introductory rate elsewhere with temperature control and a much more well kept premise. On move out day, the temperature controlled area of the building was 85° and the handle to enter the facility was broken and hanging. Our latest unit was in the Snap Fitness annex which was originally leased to me as a 10 x 10 unit. After moving out and feeling our new facility was larger (it measured a full 10ft square....) our unit in the Snap annex was only 9ft and change deep with a narrow entry door. We can't recommend Affordable Family Storage at all. Not Affordable and your business is not valued.

This location is in the homeless area and they don't give a #@#@ about people working on cars or partying ! Be wise when choosing storage rentals people !

I was hired to do a job by this couple who works there and I was rushed the entire time. Then when I refused to work with the female worker she tried pointing the finger back at me. Honestly in my opinion take a few more minutes and find a different place to trust your belongings at.

The facility is one of the nicer storage centers I have used in the past. The location is easy to find and easy to access. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The aisles within the facility are large, making loading and unloading extremely easy. Every month I receive a gentle reminder of my upcoming payment due. The staff is extremely friendly and customer oriented. You can tell they have been in this business for a very long time!

I have rented storage units in the past and this place did not seem too different than the place I have rented at before. It has all of the features most storage rental areas have, 24-hour access to your unit, first month basically free, clean and well-lit area. The customer service provided by the staff was good. The only thing I would have to say would be it was a bit pricey, but this could just be due to the location or the time of year or even availability of units. (Price may change, I do not know). Overall, positive experience here.

Their phone customer service was got us into a unit the next day. However they failed to mention it…read morewas not climate controlled as we had requested. So when I arrived I was informed by the amazing manager Catherine that no it was not climate controlled and she apologized for the miscommunication. She proceeded to make things right by contacting the other StorageMart across town and secured their last climate controlled unit for us. And made sure to give us a full refund and a credit toward the rent for September to make things right/ first month free. I would high recommend this facility if you need storage. They have up to 10x15 climate controlled units and up to 10x25 regular units.
