My key fob was fried (not the battery) and my spare key was unavailable (held hostage by my ex). I was supposed to leave on an important road trip and my vehicle was completely disabled. Luke got an overnight delivery of my (somewhat uncommon) fob and Sam came TO MY HOUSE and reprogrammed everything the next day. While working on the car, Sam discovered that my car battery was dead and he recharged it without asking and without charging me. I only had to delay my trip by 24 hours. All total, I spent WAY less money than I had spent getting fobs online and then taking them to the dealer for programming. This was A+ customer service and pricing all the way around. I can't review their locksmith services but based on how their technicians drive, I can absolutely say I would not feel safe using them. One of their drivers hit me on the Interstate and neither he, nor the owner's insurance, took responsibility for the accident. Their tech was driving erratically and irresponsibly, and merged into me on the highway. Luke and his team are great. I have used them a few times. I have had them make keys for my cars, but the main project I used them for was to select and install a new front door handle and lock. We spent some time figuring out what to get because I wanted to go keyless. I can't say the install went flawlessly, the tech didn't properly align the lock (granted, I couldn't find the instructions, so the tech was doing the best he could), so Luke had to come out and fix it. I lost the only set of keys to my vehicle. I landed upon Broadway Lock and Key after a different locksmith showed up late 3 times, tried to charge $50 over the quoted price, broke the lock on the door and then tried to sell me a key that would turn the car on but not open the door. I was three days deep into this fiasco and at the end of my patience. Sam showed up on time and made quick work of an issue that the other guys made a whole production out of. He also fixed the lock that was now broken. Price was 1/3 of what the dealership quoted. He was able to make me a new fob and valet key, all while working out of my garage in Castle Rock. This is why I love Yelp. The reviews about Broadway Lock and Key don't lie - Luke is everything people here says he is, and I honestly hope his business succeeds as a result. I called him about a filing cabinet at my office for which I lost the keys during a move. He answered the phone himself (very professional and courteous), came out right away and was able to get into the filing cabinet for me right away. The key that he was to make for me, however, proved challenging since he didn't have a blank for it. He was ready to do whatever it took to get it for me, though - even though I really didn't care, since it was only for a file cabinet which I really just needed to get unlocked. It just so happened we had some extra locks for our cabinet system which he was able to swap cylinders from, and voila - I now had keys. While he was at it he removed a broken key from another file cabinet (no charge) and did everything with a smile. Thanks Luke. read more

Prompt and professional service from these guys! I recently purchased a home and when I made copies of the front door key at Ace Hardware, the new key copies jacked up the locking mechanism cylinder, rendering even the original key a royal pain in the behind for unlocking the door. After my usual WD-40 trick proved useless, I called these guys and Luke was out the same day. He replaced the cylinder and gave me 4 new sets of keys for $90 and was in and out within 20 minutes. Super nice guy, too!! I told my mom about how awesome they were, so she called them up the next day to fix a lock on the backdoor of her business, and same thing - out within the same day and she said the locksmith they sent out that day (not Luke) was also quick, courteous and professional. I have worked with Luke at Broadway Lock and Key on two issues. The first he installed new locks in my home that make it very difficult to pick and the keys can't be copied (except by Luke). One key for all the locks. It was done quickly and for a very reasonable price. The second he worked on the lock mechanism on my car, which was not allowing me to open my door. It was baffling and the mechanic refused to work on it. Luke not only fixed it, but did so without having to replace any parts, which would have cost a fortune. Don't go anywhere else!! After replacing our door last year, our door handle stopped working about a month later. Neither our contractor or the locksmith that rekeyed the rest of the house could fix the handle (and told us it was a piece of junk.) The gentleman from Broadway Lock and Key (whose name I am blanking on) not only fixed the handle but aligned and tweaked the deadbolt so that the door opens/closes and locks smoothly all within an hour. I would highly recommend this business. There were some difficulties with getting a Fobik remote key programmed but the serviceman kept his cool and offered a few creative solutions. They were unable to program the key I provided fully or theirs but there was a full redemption after receiving a call from the owner with an offer to justify the cost of the service.
