I do love me some donuts. I like nice, fluffy donuts glazed with exactly the right amount of glaze. I like chocolate-frosted donuts, the kind where the frosting is just gooey enough to stick securely to the donut - but solid enough to crack a little when you bite into it. I like donuts that are sweet, but not sickeningly sweet like Krispy Kremes. In short: I love the donuts here at Broadway Donuts. To my taste buds, these are the best donuts I've had in Los Angeles County. "Momma" and "Poppa" always great you with a "Hi sweetie", or some such, and are always all smiles. If one of the kids is taking care of you they're equally friendly. It's a family owned donut shop, just as one should be. Broadway Donuts has been a Saturday or Sunday morning treat for me for a long time. You should make it your treat as well. read more

Love it! What I will miss the most about living in Long Beach when I move is how great the coffee is at Broadway Donuts :( some of the creamers-like the Coconut Cream, I've never seen before! They are very nice and even gave my daughter free donut holes on a few occasions. My daughter spilled a small cup of milk this weekend and the guy behind the counter didn't make me feel bad, he just cleaned it up. He even offered me a towel to wipe my daughter down. Huge selection of coffee and creamers, delicious donuts, personable owners. What's not to love? I've come here several times for some cheap coffee (a large for $2!), which you can personalize with different roasts and creamers and I have never been disappointed. Although the donuts are probably a bit more expensive than most mom & pop stores (pretty much $1/donut), they are worth it! The texture is great and isn't airy like some places. Although street parking can be slightly annoying (especially with the one way streets), this is a trip I will gladly make any morning. read more

Staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond the standard. Now onto the other star of the shop, the donuts. There is a small variety of donuts, but each choice is visually appealing. Very rude people. And all these reviews saying the donuts are good are lying, calling any single one of the donuts here average is an insult to owners of average donut businesses worldwide. The bread of the donut is completely tasteless with a very small variety of flavors. And the flavors that are alrigght are never ready and out. Donuts are very overpriced for the quality of the donut. They are $1.75. I recommend Sunrise donuts instead they right down the street most their donuts are $1.35 and it is much higher quality and a much better experience in every aspect nd much better customer service . Sunrise donuts also open 24/7. Again I come to this broadway donut nonsense establishment and repeatedly spend my money for very rude service and the male worker sounded like he had anger directed towards me as he was giving me my change . I will not make the mistake of giving these ungrateful people my money again in exchange for their terrible donuts . I woke up this morning wondering what good eats should I have for breakfast. Of course I went to Yelp.com (it has not disappointed me so far) and look for breakfast around my area. I usually go to Sunrise Donuts down the street but I needed a different experience. Seeing that Broadway donuts was at the top of the list I decided to check it out. It looks like a normal donut shop outside but once I stepped in, I knew from the atmosphere that the owners has pride in this place. It is clean and organized, from the self serve coffee area to the donut display. And there was a line of regulars (a good sign) inside. The woman behind the counter gave excellent service, down to letting a couple wash their hands at their sink behind her. The choices were slimmed down but it is 11 am and I already knew what I wanted. At the self serve coffee area was a variety of fresh coffee, sweeteners, and creams (dairy and non dairy) to fit any coffee lover palates. My coffee was the french roast with vanilla caramel cream and sugar. It was the BEST coffee I had in REALLY long time! The glaze donut melted in my mouth and the croissant flaky, buttery crust and moist and fluffy center. I couldn't even drive so before I took several more sips of my coffee. The prices is cheap considering things are usually more expensive near downtown Long Beach. For all locals and visitors, go show Broadway Donuts some love and play Starbucks with your coffee :-) read more

The FAMOUS Broadway Doughnut (look for the picture with DEXTER) is a neighborhood favorite. Ham and cheese croissants are AMAZING. They offer a jalapeño option as well. They are a nice neighborhood spot with the largest variety of Coffee-mate creamers and roasts my eyes have witnessed. (I even saw a Vanilla Heat Creamer---spicy vanilla flavored coffee perhaps?) The downfall of this place is that it is cash only as my fellow Yelpers have mentioned. Which makes it even more inconvenient is that they advise you to stroll across the street to an always welcoming 7-Eleven ATM, only to walk back and spend the intended money. Let's review: I pay the ATM fee + my banks non-branch ATM fee + the cost of the original coffee donut combo. (+ the physical/emotional toll of making things hard on me during a post-friday night hangover) Ipso Facto, it's 2014. Get a damn account with Visa or MasterCard (or hell even the iPhone App Swipe) so your clientele can bring their card and it's not a mission. Pay the 2.75% because your guests are worth it. Easily THE BEST donuts in North America if not the world!!! I travel for work and sometimes you just want a good donut! I just returned from eastern Canada where I was told Tim Hortons is *the* place. Nope! Dunkin' Donuts is better and I don't like Dunkin' Donuts! In addition to Broadway Donuts incredible breakfast foods, they have a RIDICULOUS assortment of coffee and creamer choices! And the owners are some of the nicest neighbors ive ever had. Most donut shops' croissants put very little of everything in their croissants, but not this one. I really love this place! I am not a coffee guy all the time, but they have a huge selection. I like that redbull is less expensive here than at the 7-11 across the street. Fact is, at the end of the day a doughnut is a doughnut. What makes this place special is the wonderful lady behind the counter. She is alays so sweet and takes the time to say hi to every customer.
