I visited with (not my girlfriend) on 7/4/25. The ambiance was quiet enough for bar conversation. The whisky(ey) selections were impressive with some hard to find bourbons. One of my employees mentioned the wine selection was impressive, while another noticed the huge deletions of liquors behind the bar! Corey is the owner and caters to a variety of preferences. This is a much needed update: I was attending the Downtown Martinez Car Show tonight and ended up at Bar Cava. They had a mobile restaurant called Burger Metal grilling up awesome burgers out side where you could eat, drink and enjoy all the classic cars. Inside you can sit at the bar and get more food, a great selection of wines and now even cocktails!!! The bartenders are super friendly which just adds to the great vibe in this place. Think about it, great food, drinks and service with outdoor seating right on Main Street. What a gem. Downtown Martinez is really beginning to pop and Bar Cava is one of the reasons why. Was walking around killing time for another breakfast place during the farmers market when we walked by this place. Decided that mimosas would be a good idea while waiting. They also had food from another place I forgot what it was called but they had an avocado toast with candied bacon which was bomb! I'm not sure if the same food will be there every weekend. Came here to support friends who regularly plays at Bar Cava. I'm finally happy to have been able to make it and invited some friends. Cory the owner was very helpful and was able to set up tables for us because our group grew. Staff: Our server was friendly and seemed to love her job. There was another guy who helped us w our tables and chairs along w Cory. Food: The spicy chicken sandwich was very good. It's just the right amount of spices (although) I would have added a little more). My friend said her flat bread was also really good. It must have been cuz she finished it all by herself Drinks: I forgot what he name of our drinks (something beach). Located in Downtown Martinez, came here on a Tuesday night and they have karaoke! We walked in close to closing right before 9pm and it was pretty packed but we're able to steal some bar seats to grab a drink and a charcuterie board. The cocktails were really good and fairly priced, wide variety of choices of drinks too, friendly staff and lots of energy. Would recommend if you're there for a drink but come earlier if you want food because they do a hard stop/close at 9pm on a weeknight. The karaoke scene was a little more like Jimmy Buffet, looks like they have their regulars. Decided to meet friends here on a Friday night and I must say the vibe in this area is great. The only problem is that the night we visited they were short staffed, I think, because it took over 30 min to get our first drink. I guess that was good for my wallet. Lol. I only had time to order and drink one glass. I will say that when we were acknowledged everyone was extremely friendly which made us feel like maybe it was an off night for them. I like the outdoor seating and like I said, the vibes were great. They had live music outside and parking nearby was really easy. This was the PERFECT spot for our date night!! For starters, awesome ambiance... it's got that cozy hole-in-the-wall hidden gem appeal. The bartender, David, was contagiously passionate about his craft, had great recommendations for food items we were debating between, and just had an overall great attitude like he was stoked to be there to serve us all. The bartender passed us menus, yet never really got back to us, in the meantime he breaks a glass & then for whatever reason announces he won't be cleaning it up, nor the one he broke earlier in the day - okay? Still waiting to be asked what we like to eat & after another couple walks in, he tells them - oh the kitchen in closed, dude you could have told us when we sat down & you handed us menus, what gives? Ambiance - none on Sunny, whoever is the owner should know your bartender was hungover - as he had informed other patrons as to being in Vegas & getting trashed, does mean you come to work & trash it was well. Headed out to Bar Cava last night , never been so I didn't know what to expect. I didn't check closing time so we arrived hungry 30 minutes before closing. We asked if it was too late to order 15 min before closing and we were pleasantly surprised with sure pick something. So we ordered pizza! Oh my goodness. We have been coming here for a long time but this is the first time we have had the Artisan Pizza and it did not disappoint. We ordered the PO Pizza.I think it was the best pizza I have ever had. Just the right amount of quality toppings not too much sauce and finished with arugula. It was delicious. I couldn't stop eating it! Outstanding! On top of this amazing pizza we got delicious drinks too and got to sample and see some of their new original cocktails. Not the old school, this place is tight, as in hella cool, yo! But tight as in, its one long hallway with a table in the front and a bar along the back with tables for 2 beside it. Unfortunately, it was a no-meat Friday, so we did not get to sample the charcuterie. But, we'll be back! The wine I had was really good, but I love dessert wine and had the only one on the menu.
