The Lone Prince of SLOdippo goes on yet another SLO-dipitous journey [note: very loosely based on an old Persian story of the "Three Princes of Serendipity "]. I wandered out one day, along with my Princess, to the Wilds of Baywood, & on a typical Monday, visited upon the farmers & merchants that spontaneously appear in white tents hawking their plethora of products. After procuring a whole host of wonders, we then proceeded in a serpentine coast hugging path toward endless vistas that centered on one volcanic plug. The last vista involved an hours toil on the shifting barely vegetated sands in the Wilds of Los Osos, which seriously depleted one's calories. In dire need of liquid sustenance, we then randomly selected the local discount store. After gazing upon a random selection of fermented liquids, one caught the eye. It was not only made with local apples, but hailed from some craftsmen in the Quiet Village of Atascadero town. It was said to be original...or the OG version. After taking refuge in our simple palace by the sea, a singular sip & snort from the humble squat brown bottle made one's senses tingle. Savoring every drop of this golden brew, one could only wonder how to somehow find more. It was far easier than finding a blind lame camel in a far off land and involved a net thrown over the nearby lands north of us. On our next SLO-dipitous journey we directed our Camel-less Conveyance north over a high mountain pass named Cuesta. Our intention was at first to sample some exotic rare French pastries in A-town & then explore what the surrounding old edifices contained in this age of Plague. The pastries were quite masterful, and provided further sustenance toward our further journey. After using a pocket divining device, the location of the golden brew revealed itself. It was hiding just off the old El Camino Real trail in a thicket of warehouses. While in theory, it was way too early for their door to open, once I ordered my Carmel-less Conveyance to halt, the door seemed to magically open as if on cue. As I cautiously & rather skeptically approached, the master of Cider magic revealed himself, as Cody the Cider King. Cody the Cider King was both kind and wise, and while it was rather unclear as to why he opened the door, to my wisened mind, it was apparent that it was meant to be. Cody the Cider King, extended a hearty welcome, as if he had known me well in a previous incarnation. For every inquiry on the magical brews, he offered several wise replies....and better yet, some rather amazing samples. Never before did I know what magical creations can be done with the variety of local Apples, amazing skill, & various scents & colors that one could barely guess at. One brew was more amazing and magical than the next. One would have guess that one pinkish brew involved some berries, but Cody the Cider King kindly redirected me to think more creatively. Indeed, it involved red beets, fennel, & numerous apples. Some brews involved sweeter apple varieties and some involved those on the more sour side. Some involved hard spirits, like whiskey, and some were aged in the old barrels that used to make them. Under Cody the Cider Kings kind tutelage, I rapidly gained a bare novice's appreciation of a whole new universe of DARPA-level Cider appreciation. My mission was at first to grab one of almost every bottle that I initially saw, but after gaining this seemingly arcane new wisdom, we both settled on my favorite several variants, not to be confused with the variants of ill repute that are a bane to all. While the Cider Kings make no claims of the health benefits of combining fine French Baked goods with the Ciders of Wonder in A-Town, on the way toward our palace, I spontaneously decided to halt at the Cuesta Grade, got out and walked almost straight up & down the mountain for nearly two hours. We then were rewarded with an expansive view over our entire nearby realm, with copious views of numerous volcanic plugs of lore....the far one was barely visible, but was somehow key to this whole SLO-dipitous mini-adventure. After somehow achieving this near miracle of spontaneous near self-flagellation, I then headed home, with my precious new Ciders tucked carefully in the trunk of my Camel-less Conveyance. As the sun set on the palace's patio, I opened a fine bottle, that Cody the Cider King had given me, and while overlooking my near coastal realm, the tart sweet ambrosial brew, soothed my aches, pains, and some concerns about the plague...and life seemed to be for the briefest of moments, without overwhelming worry. I extend thanks to Cody the Cider King & the other Wizards of Bristol for the parts played in two of my SLO-dipitous journey's. May other's SLO-dipitous journey's be as unforgettable, as these adventures in the land of greater SLOdippo. Please stay tuned for further lore involving the "Lone Prince of SLOdippo".

Amazing locally made cider, they also have Lone Madrone wines and solid live music and food trucks. Nice outdoor space and dog friendly!

Super cool vibe and friendly staff! A great spot to grab a drink and listen to some live music. The tasting flight is a great way to try different flavors. I'll definitely be back!

Locally sourced apples are pressed and fermented into light ciders here at the bristol's. The first time I came it was so packed and live music filled the air. There is seating outside and inside. This time it was so quiet and calm. They do have some barrel aged ciders that are in beautiful bottles. If ciders are not your thing they have wine from lone madrone available for purchase.

A variety of wine and cider options for purchase

Away from the downtown you'll find a great spot to enjoy cider in a welcoming. comfortable atmosphere. Along with their ciders, Bristol's offers their sister company, Lone Madrone's wine. Having been established in 1994, there's something to what they offer, or they wouldn't still be here. From crisp refreshing, to barrel aged oaky offerings, you'll surely find something to satisfy your palette here. The staff are always attentive and happy to answer any questions you have. Take the time to visit, you won't regret it

We came out to Bristol Cider for a Yelp Event this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised! Location: This venue is in an industrial area, so when we came at night, it stood out because it was so well lit and distinguished on its street. They had a small parking lot and plenty of street parking as well! They have a big outdoor patio with plenty of umbrellas and shaded areas for the day. They have all sorts of seating (benches, chairs, Adirondacks) and also have a few heaters for those chilly times too! The inside also has a combination of seating at the bar, on couches and little tables! Overall, plenty of room to enjoy their cider! Food & Drinks: the one drawback is that I didn't see any sort of food options being offered, but drinks.. they have plenty!! Lol they had quite a variety of cider options on tap, bottled and for tasting or taking home! Their flavors ranged and I attached a picture of their descriptions as well! My favorite was def the Joan's Best!!! The further down you get on the menu, the sweeter it is! Their service was also great and very friendly! It was well kept and clean, and they even had live music inside! It was such a good, fun vibe! I'd definitely return, and just by hanging out a bit, you can tell they have some regulars that really enjoy this spot and their offerings! Overall a great spot!!! If you're a cider fan, (which I am) definitely try them out!!! Cheers!!

Cheers!!!!!!! I've been coming here for years and I love how consistently delicious the cider is. The staff is always very friendly... Josh was so polite and fun, he took us on a tour of the cider making process. The cellar smelled so freaking good!! The classic cider is a go-to. It's like perfect! My new favorite is sierra crab. It's just as perfect! Great jobs guys! Thank you

Five stars for being super dog friendly, as in my pups were allowed to come in and out of the heat to hang out while we drank cider. My brother and his wife come here often and raved about the cider. The cider was delicious and refreshing - while I don't even remember what I had I know I liked it! Nothing better than supporting local business, particularly one that loves dogs as much as we do!

Our group had a great time at this place. Friendly staff, explained all the ciders on their menu. We ordered a flight of everything they had to offer, and the portions were generous. Followed up with half pints of our favorites. Honestly, everything was good. One of my favorite parts was that they had some games sitting around the lounge area. Our group enjoyed playing trivial pursuit. Kept us around for more drinks. Would definitely go back. We bought a pack to take home because we enjoyed the ciders so much.

Erich, one of the cider makers shows off one of their delicious ciders.

What is a cider house you ask? It's not a bar or restaurant. I would say it's more like of what you would think of as a local pub. That down the street sort of place where everyone is relaxed, having some cider, and just having a good time (or at least feels that way). Bristol's cider itself it more traditional English cider with a twist here and there which tends to go towards the dry side of ciders. They have a ton of flavors which are always rotating and usually you can try a tiny bit before you get your pint or go for a tasting menu to try them all. I usually go for their main cider the OG or my new favorite and pink (from the beet root) cider called the Mangelwurzel (which is fun to say just by itself). Hard to explain the taste other than amazingness in a glass . The staff including Cody the pub manager and the coder makers Erich and Weston are all super friendly and can tell enjoy the whole process and cider. All around good people. A few other notes if interested in going: - they have food sometimes and depends on night of the week. Call or check their social media - music down there can be a blast and some really good bands go through there (although much when laid back music or no music too) Would love to hear your thoughts and tell us your favorite cider? (Try the Mangelwurzel if you can!)
