Bristol Sunset Café is one of my favorite breakfast spots around. My girlfriend and I love grabbing a salted maple latte to go, it's easily one of the best drinks on the menu. The food is consistently excellent. The butternut squash omelet is packed with flavor and always a standout. I also really like the #7, the Portuguese Benny, lemon curd French toast, and the sweet bread French toast, everything comes out fresh and really well done. The corned beef hash and chourico hash are both delicious and great if you're in the mood for something more savory and hearty. They also had a recent maple-based special that I can't remember the exact name of, but it was just as good as everything else on the menu. Overall, you really can't go wrong here. Great food, great drinks, and a solid go-to breakfast spot in Bristol.

Mallory our server made our day, and breakfast delightful!!!

Great place to Nosh in Bristol Ri, wait time is a bit horrendous but when seated.... relief servers attentive and kind, got a window table Coffee is very good, mimosa's too our first time here so more about the food later. Get here early, leave name and cell number if you've a long wait time, you can stroll to nearby shops. Mallory was indeed an awesome server....it was busy

Great food, friendly service, casual/modern atmosphere. Portions are generous but also pricier for breakfast. There is a bit of pressure to eat quickly and leave due to the long waitlist. Maybe that was because our table was near the door, so we were hyper aware of parties just standing and waiting. The wait can be incredibly long, so highly recommend you use the waitlist feature ahead of your visit. We dined on a Sunday - added our party of 3 to the waitlist around 9:20, our seating time was estimated to be 10:30, and we were sat about then. A very accurate estimate. There's no waiting area inside, so I do not recommend arriving early.

Yes! Go here! Be prepared to wait for a table at busy times, but this was delicious. I got take out to bring to colt state park (just make sure you ask for utensils if you don't have them in your car). There is a full bar area and a bunch of tables plus a couple small tables outside. I got the "so good sandwich" and the "so good" was an understatement . It was delicious! The perfect breakfast sandwich. I added the avocado and got the side of home fries. The home fries were soft and flavorful. They could have sold more time on the griddle to get crispy but even without that I could eat a bucket of them. We also got the OG Benny which was tasty. They put the hollandaise sauce on the side which was a great take out idea. Coffee was nothing special but good and not super expensive compared to other places for a latte. I will definitely be back!

Coffee formulation maybe pumpkin spiced latte.

We have been going to the Sunset Cafe for a few years now and I just realized that I have never written a review. IMHO it is hands down the best breakfast place in this area. It is relatively large with a nice sized counter. Plenty of space that is comfortable. Service is amazing. Everyone is friendly and looking to get you whatever you need. Now onto the food and drink. Coffee formulations are amazing per my wife. I just drink Red-eyes. The breakfast offerings are all good. It really doesn't matter what you order. It will be perfectly prepared. My favorites are the veggie omelette made with egg whites and a side of corned beef hash. The hash is made by them and it is simply fabulous. Eggs are always made as you ordered which is unique these days. The home fries are amazing as well with a perfect blend of spices. If you go on the weekend, do the call ahead seating. Otherwise, you will be waiting for a while. Give it a try

    Cozy and inviting decor!

The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. Perhaps it's improved since I visited, but it's a pass for me based on experiences I've had.

After selecting from the reasonably diverse beer menu, I ordered pesto calamari and others ordered street corn Brussels sprouts and a K-pop chicken sandwich. Not my sandwich, but I did sample a chunk of the chicken, which was beautifully seasoned and not over cooked. The Brussels sprouts were well seasoned and decorated with corn, avocado, queso, and a little too much quinoa for my taste. My pesto calamari was delicious. The calamari was cooked well and it was a great change from the tomato based dips that typically accompany calamari. The aioli worked very well with the addition of capers and a squeeze of lemon. The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. The only problem here was that I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, to which the waiter simply said okay. Turns out it was an undisclosed upcharge. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave. My guess is they were drunk, but it was a Wednesday night around 6:00, so I wouldn't have expected that. They were so loud that I was yelling to my friend who was within arm's length. Totally changed the vibe and enjoyment for me.

We started with a half order of nachos topped with the most flavorful pulled pork I've ever had. My wife and I literally couldn't stop eating. The fresh jalapeños added just the right kick, perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the barbecue sauce, and the house-made chips stayed crisp the whole time--no sogginess, just done right. Every detail was intentional, and you could taste it. Then came the dry rub chicken wings--perfectly cooked with a juicy center and a crisp exterior. The subtle honey sriracha flavor layered in beautifully without overpowering the chicken. To finish, we had the baby back ribs over coconut rice. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the rice was cooked perfectly with just the right hint of sweetness, and the shaved Brussels sprouts with pickled onions and jalapeños added the perfect crunch and contrast. We came in, was greeted by the hostess, she was very nice. She told us we could go in the back and have drinks and an app while we waited for our table. Great! A waitress came by, took our order for drinks and app. She was very nice and cheery. We hoped to get her as the waitress. So far, so good right? We were sat and our nachos came out just as we just settled in which was good. I was disappointed that expediter didn't bother to get us plates or recognize that we needed them. She left before I could say anything so I had to flag her down for them. She did get them quickly. For some reason, the waitresses were all over the back table of loud girls. It appeared they were showering them with attention going back and forth all different waitresses. The place is incredibly loud, it was tough to have a conversation with my girlfriend while we. We tried several times to make any sort of eye contact with the staff to let them know we needed drinks and failed. Eventually, we stood up, walked over and asked a waitress for some waters. A waitress came to the table and gave us waters and asked if we wanted drinks but let her know we had already put them in. She seemed annoyed by us, even though we didn't do anything other than tell her we already had drinks in and that we may order some other things soon. Nobody ever came by to check on us even though they came every 2 minutes to gab with the back table. My girlfriend and I didn't really like the nachos. She felt the chili was burnt and I thought it was too salty. We were still hungry and going to ask for entrees, but we were so annoyed with feeling neglected that we decided to go elsewhere. I asked for a box for my food and the waitress said she'd be back and went and talked with the other table again for what seemed like an eternity. At that point we just wanted to leave and eat somewhere else. When she came back after a while I was like... Oh! There you are! And she took my payment. I hate not leaving tips, but I was aggravated. We shouldn't have to get up and ask for what we need. This was upsetting.
