It has photos of everything. I love ceviche and I had a very difficult time deciding. Ceviche, Aguachile made in multiple ways, Coctels, Seafood Tower, Tostilocos con Ceviche! Hacha and all kinds of shrimp. Beautiful Snow Crab. They make trays of items. Bowls. Boils. Molcajete. Ramen noodle bowls. There is Zarandeados style to cook shrimp and octopus. There's Beef, too. Fajitas. Carne asada. Bistec. Barbacoa. Burgers. So, we had our favorites. I ordered a Plato de Ceviche that comes comes with fresh thin fried corn chips and a fish tacos platter (4). My husband ordered this huge Carne Asada Plate. Our sweet waitress was kind and patient. Much of the menu is in Spanish for items that I'd never heard of and wanted to know about. I tried not to monopolize her. There was all this incredible looking food around us! It looked like we were served a very tasty fire roasted salsa Negra to kick things off. Our food arrived fairly soon. My husband's Carne Asada Plate was enough for two. Served on a tray, it came with 6 flour tortillas and he took half of what you see in the photo home. The meat was so tender and the grilled whole onion was delicious. My ceviche rocked. Crunchy veggies and well seasoned and marinated fish and shrimp, lots of avocado and a surprise! Tender bites of octopus at the edges of this enormous serving of Ceviche. It was perfection. Next time I want to try the Aguachile. My only problem will be which one? I opted to take half the ceviche home and jump into a fish taco. There was so much fish, it barely fit into the tortilla. My husband had one too. There were two delicious creamy sauces, Pico de Gallo and purple cabbage. Crunchy enough to stand up to everything, it was SO good. I took the other two home of course. This area of downtown Ennis is so very nice. Plenty of parking. Benches. The restaurant has patio dining but it was much too cold. The staff were friendly and always had a smile. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with soy broth, pork belly, scallions, bamboo, diced onions, and an egg. The broth was the star for me. It had this deep, savory flavor with a little sweetness underneath, almost like the soy had been cooked down into something richer. Warm, comforting, and full of umami without tasting too salty. Every sip had that roasted, almost earthy depth that made me want to keep drinking it. The pork belly was ridiculously tender. Soft, juicy, and rich, with just enough fat to make it melt in my mouth. The egg was creamy and silky in the middle, and the bamboo and onions added some crunch and freshness to break everything up. Simple, warm, and really satisfying. This was exactly what I wanted from a bowl of ramen.

Instead, one came sickeningly sweet with an unlisted cinnamon syrup, and the other still had a strong cinnamon taste. When we questioned this, the server casually mentioned the cinnamon syrup--something not disclosed on the menu. I had to specifically ask her to take one back rather than her responding promptly. Next, they brought our sushi rolls, but no plates, no soy sauce, and not even dishes for dipping. We had to ask for all those basics. I specifically chose two rolls without cream cheese--because I don't want cream cheese in my sushi--and yet one still had it. The server's response was to chat with a manager but not to offer any solution, compensation, or correction. Overall, if a menu lists certain ingredients, that's what should arrive. Adding things like cinnamon in a drink or cream cheese in a roll--especially when people might have dietary needs--is careless. They need to be more attentive to both the menu and the customer's feedback.

As soon as I walked in, I had a feeling that this was going to be much better than I would expect for a strip mall restaurant. We ordered the pork pot stickers, lamb dry hotpot, and the karage ramen. The pot stickers were perfectly cooked, crispy on the bottom, good chew, and great flavor. The lamb dry hotpot was a kingly meal. The presentation was impressive and the exquisite variety of ingredients made this a meal to remember. The karage ramen was lackluster, I would wager their other ramen options are better. The atmosphere was pretty good and the service was excellent. Overall, if I lived in Waxahachie, I would be a regular here.

So my husband and I decided to go get some hibachi for a date night. We have been here before and…read morethe food was good. This time, it was HORRIBLE. To pay $80 plus for hibachi that was nasty is crazy. 1st the customer service by the waitress was good. She did get our order wrong but she was nice. The cook came out with everyone's order wrong but ours because I went to her and got her to fix ours for before the cook came out. He checked everyone's order and that was the only time he interacted with us. He never even asked if anyone had an allergy . He then proceeded with cooking. He did his thing with the knife and spatula. Then, he spun an egg and put oil around it and lit it. That's where we felt heat. He then proceeded to cook the rice and vegetables. Then, he cooked 1 steak at a time. There were like six orders of steaks, but he cooked them one at time. He used the same knife and spatula to cook every piece of food on the burner. He used the same spatula and knife to dip it in the butter and to serve everyone their food. He cooked steak, chicken, shrimp, rice, and vegetables with the same one. He never wiped it off and never changed his spatula or knife for a different one. The only other trick that he did was stacked two pieces of onions together, put water in it, and it was supposed to be the train that they do... But he allowed it to go for 2.5 seconds then cut it and continued cooking. Everyone at our table were not pleased with the show nor the food. I spoke with the manager and he gave me some food from the back and that was horrible as well. My husband did pay for our food and we gave a tip to our waitress to then come home, and my husband has been sick since then. I did inform the manager of what happened and how disappointed we was with the service of the Cook. Now, I am at home trying to ensure that my husband recovers from what I believe is food poisoning. That was the only thing that we ate that day and he has been sick since then. I hope they can get it together so no one else can experience what we did, but we will never go back to this establishment.
