I stopped for lunch at the Bristol Diner (formerly Riverside Diner) recently. This classic breakfast & lunch diner was built by the Pollard Co in the 1920s. The front lunch car portion houses a long lunch counter with stool seating plus attached kitchen and dining room (with booth seating) sections. The breakfast menu offerings include eggs, omelets, French toast, pancakes, and breakfast sides. The lunch menu offers grilled & cold sandwiches, burgers, deep fried steak & cheese wrap, quesadillas, hot dogs, chili, salads, chicken tenders, chopped sirloin fried seafood, liver & onions, homemade fries & onion rings, and desserts (pies, cakes). Fresh brewed coffee is from Donahue Bros and Pepsi fountain drinks served. Beer is available including Budweiser, Bud Light, Miller, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Michelob, Guinness, Corona, and St. Paul NA. The prices here are fair, all items under $10. I sat up at the lunch counter for quick service. I got an ice water and I decided on the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich ($5.95) served with chips & dill pickle chips, but I upgraded the chips to homemade fresh cut shoestring fries (add $1.50). The food was ready in 10 minutes. The big sandwich had tender pulled pork (some fat) with a sweet BBQ sauce and melted cheese on a large soft toasted bulkie roll, pretty decent overall. The hot homemade fries were okay, a bit of a soft texture and not too greasy. The service was attentive and quick. CASH ONLY HOURS: Mon: 7AM-2PM; Tue-Wed: 5AM-2PM; Thurs: 5AM-7PM; Fri: 5AM-8PM; Sat-Sun: 5AM-2PM

Meatloaf Special with an added pickle.

I couldn't have been more satisfied. The food was fantastic. Owner really cares about the customers.

Decent place for affordable breakfast and lunch, not a lot of parking but in warm weather there is a nice deck outside.

On the Tuesday morning after Labor Day we brought my adult daughter with us to Randy's PitStop…read moreDiner (she had not been before). We got the same great service as if they hadn't just had a busy holiday weekend, except they were out if chorizo. We don't eat chorizo anyway, so no matter. I tried something new, the ham, turkey, and cheese sandwich on french toast! Yum!! My daughter got the same and enjoyed it too. We especially loved the deep fried potatoes. My husband got his favorite, corned beef hash. We'll be back!

We were there for the promise of a fantastic breakfast. The menu is manageable, lots of choices~all pitstop themed~ but not so many that it was a chore to choose. I decided on a 3 egg swiss and mushroom omelette. It was explained that toast was extra, which isn't the norm, at least in my experience. But I dove in and ordered Rye. My Son ordered 2eggs over easy, the potatoes (not the deep fried version), bacon, ham, sausage and 2 pancakes. This breakfast seemed to include a toast option, for those who are keeping score. The food was spectacular. Very well done, simply, and with no frills save for a killer playlist that included Bittersweet Symphony. You don't often find yourself sitting at a counter, eating breakfast with special toast and hear The Verve. Worth a mention. The service was crisp, thorough and we did get a lovely smile and thank you as we checked out. But at the end of it all, the food is, or should be the star. And it was.

Absolutely mind blown…read more I have made numerous ski trips this way and always seen this place tucked away in the corner of my eye when approaching the intersection. No cell service so couldn't look up anything prior to entering. Lovely little diner, please remember to shut the door as you enter as it doesn't close. I made my way to the counter and started really looking at everything around the place. Personally could have kept all the political stuff out but I was here for food. Liked all the books off the side as well as the dinosaur toys. The message that is placed in front of you tell a good story, and they're not wrong one bit. Enjoy the company around you. I was blown away with the size of the blueberry pancake, and I was warned. Never have I taken a pancake to go because I didn't finish it. I had some corn beef hash too so that filled me up a bit, but this thing is massive! Definitely could've taken it down in my college days. I will have to come back to try and defeat it again. Anyways, I did enjoy my corn beef hash too, very potato driven. All and all, happy I finally popped in. Don't know when the next time I'll be back, but it is now on my radar of places to stop when ready for pancakes!

The diner is very small inside and decorated with political extremism. I thought the set up was funny, unique, and provided great conversation topics. However, the food is what made me dislike the diner. First off, the waitress dipped her hand in the coffee and didn't replace it with a new one. Was given attitude after asking for a new coffee. Then after that, the coffee ended up being the worst tasting diner coffee I've ever had (it was $6 as well!!!). I ordered the world domination breakfast and was disappointed. The only good part of the experience were the pancakes, which were very delicious. Didn't finish the other food outside of the pancakes. Was very surprised after reading the reviews.
