    Breakfast area!

Super cool little hotel with neat, clean and quiet rooms. Very friendly staff. The price was more than reasonable considering the area and distance to the beach. There is a cute little morning breakfast area with plenty of good fresh coffee and a moderate range of other breakfast items. This is our first time staying here but we will definitely be returning, hopefully for a more extended stay!

What I loved most was the room, especially the shower. It had a thoughtfully designed, thick glass door that opened easily. In most hotels, I hesitate before turning on the water, bracing for that sudden burst of heat overhead. But here, everything was arranged with care, so I could step in comfortably and enjoy the shower without that small anxiety. The details in the room made it even better--a Nespresso machine ready for a slow morning, and a proper water kettle, which always feels like a small luxury. The bed was soft and welcoming, the kind you sink into at the end of a long day. We didn't have an ocean view, but the patio had its own charm--quiet, intimate, and enough to make you pause. The best part, though, was the beach. Just a short walk down the stairs, and your feet meet the sand. The shoreline isn't wide, but it stretches beautifully along the coast. I found myself walking there in the mornings and again in the evenings, letting the rhythm of the waves mark the day. That simple routine--down the stairs, onto the sand--became the most memorable part of the stay.

However, watching the sunset on the California Coastline from the infinity hot tub was incredible and definitely social media worthy. I loved that the dry sauna had a glass window, offering all the benefits of the sauna while also providing a beautiful view of the ocean.

The small boutique hotel is…read morea hidden gem. the rooms have record players beautifully appointed and decorated style of boho mixed with mid century modern and romantic style. Parking is a bit tricky as we didn't know parking was around back and in a garage that cost extra and if you have a taller vehicle you won't fit. We were lucky to find street parking but I imagine in summer that will be difficult. The bed was extra comfortable and the night was quiet. The roof top is amazing and you just want to stay the night up there long after sunset. Breakfast was a little strange. I understand now you can put in an order for tea, coffee, juice and muffin the night before or in the morning like we tried to do. The morning clerk seemed confused and apparently had to leave to go to the bakery just behind hotel on the street to pick up your orders and bring to your room. There was a little communication gap but before we could go back to the lobby to get the items it was brought to us. Not exactly what we asked for but the gesture was nice. The room was clean for the most part but I did clean some spider webs from the canopy bed top from one end to other and in the corner ceiling. Nothing too traumatic. Everything else was spot on. A hair dryer, nice robs beautiful shower. A lady and her kid near the office were a little loud and she allowed the kid to scream and run up and down stairs that was not fun to wake to. Those people always think their kids are so cute no one else could ever possibly mind their kids running around screaming in the morning. That was no fault of the hotel but it would have been nice if the man in the office would have asked her to be courteous of other guests. Maybe he did and she ignored him. I had to open our door and say " who is allowing their kid to scream and run up and down the stairs at 8 am? Being by the office I was heard but nothing was done about it by the parent or office. This should be an adult's only boutique hotel as it is small. There is no pool and it doesn't cater to families with small kids. Other than that we loved it and would go again in a heart beat and just may book again in summer. The price is ok on weekdays weekends can be pricey and add parking. You're paying for peace and quiet and view. Not kids in a pool, kid programs etc. So at the prices I want total serenity with exception of the train which was no big deal at all

We stayed for a few nights during our home fumigation and after comparing just about every motel/inn around the Encinitas and Carlsbad area, I'm really glad we settled on this one. Pros: it is clean! That's not to be confused with showing its age, because it absolutely could use a facelift, but the cleanliness was there. It's convenient! Right by the freeway and yet close enough to downtown Encinitas to walk to dinner or shopping. Conveniently located right across the street from Lazy Acres, a laundromat, Mexican food, and Mr. Peabody's bar and grill. It has a nice little gym. Was there some dust? Sure but the equipment and weights did the trick, and the small gym had a little patio to stand on during cool downs. NO added cost to park cars! Some hotels were asking for $30-40 per night per vehicle and this place had the cost covered in the standard $15 hotel fee. Park as many cars as you'd like. Come and go as you please. The parking lot felt safe, and as a woman making several trips to my car in the evening I felt just fine. It's nice that you're up on a hill so you do feel more secluded from any possible unsavory surprises. No hidden fees! They are upfront about taxes and there were no surprises. WiFi was just fine, though our stay was not during busy season. Continental breakfast is included! Fried eggs and sausage were very average, but grab some coffee, a pastry, some toast, juice, cereal and you don't have to think twice about breakfast. It was basic but not gross by any means. This is not the place for you if you're expecting 5 star service, but it would be a great spot for families visiting town. Note: turn down service and daily cleaning is not provided but this was not an issue for us staying just a few days. Comfy beds and pillows, towels are nice. Front desk staff was helpful when needed, and every room has a nice balcony view. The walls are thin so if you're by the elevator or ice machine, expect to hear some kids running down the halls, but this place has everything we needed at a very affordable rate. We would absolutely come back for a little staycation in the future.

After a long day at the Legoland water park my family of 4 was ready to shower and get to sleep. Unfortunately the house keeping, which I might add did a wonderful job, they forgot to add towels. I called the front desk, at least 5 times till I finally got through and asked if we could get more towels. She said I need to go grab them from the front , so I did! Once I got there the heavy set older white lady looked very overwhelmed and gave me 2 towels. I asked for 2 more since we are a family of 4. She said there were NO MORE TOWELS TILL THE MORNING !!! So you're telling me in this entire hotel there aren't any towels !!?? Find that hard to believe !! Also at night every other hour there is a train that passes by and blares its horn , so I could not get any sleep! Also at the pool there is no towels available once they are gone .

We were initially given a noisy room on the front side facing the freeway which was not what we requested. They claimed that we changed it which was not true but "stuff happens" and they still gave us a room on the backside that faced neighborhood homes. Since it was quiet, no harm, no foul. No name cheap coffee for in-room coffeemaker. TP quality in the bathroom is still poor and might be the same lousy nearly transparent grade school restroom variety. The grout is eroding on the tile floors in multiple spots in the bathroom and room so maintenance may not be too dialed in here. The shower is especially annoying by design. It is very, very narrow. I am nearly 6'1" and weigh 177 pounds and this space is tight. To add to the limited space, they cluelessly mounted big shower gel, shampoo and conditioner bottles right in your space on the RIGHT side. On your LEFT side is the interior shower door handle which protrude into your space substantially. You cannot alternate the doors unless you want to create a gap and flood your bathroom floor. Even the handicap bar is in your space which creates an annoying showering experience. They should have alternated the shower doors and moved the bottles to the far end of the shower. On the positive, the Zero brand products are pretty nice. The room has contemporary looks with a big TV and lots of channels including good sports channels. There is the usual fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, desk etc. The heat/ac adjustment is nice as well. Bed is MEDIUM firmness and pretty comfortable. There are oddball sloped/angled floors on the 2nd level which will make you wonder if Salvador Dali designed them or a funhouse designer. The carpet pattern choice adds to the fun. Truthfully, I liked it. Breakfast hours are liberal which is a nice plus. The water station in the hallway on ground level turned out to be very convenient to our room which was a positive for refills. Breakfast featured oatmeal (slightly less runny than last time), and I added walnuts and maple syrup. I used the ladle to make less runny. You can choose vanilla or smore's waffle batter for the waffle maker. I opted for vanilla. There are the usual juices, Activia strawberry, plain yogurt etc. The bacon is crispy and thin and small (more like shrapnel) but does the trick. The scrambled eggs have shredded cheddar cheese available on the side. There are sausage patties, cinnamon-apple mini muffins, blueberry mini-muffins, hot coffee etc. The area is clean and very well serviced by familiar staff. Staff are friendly and take care of you from front desk to breakfast space.
