    Small Office

We are timeshare owners, came here for the first time thru Interval exchange; When arrived, we were surprised to see, the so called " Resort " appeared to be converted from several two story old apartment buildings; The Check-In Office was very small and outdated, it appeared also converted from a downstair apartment room, located at the Corner building. Whole complex was small and compacted with narrow driveways & walkways. Although, the property owner have done some improvements on landscapes and public areas, whole place looked clean and festive, but still appeared outdated. I gave 2 stars for their effort. But, this is no way near to wannabe " Resort"! Be aware and prepared: 1: Using Paper & click board for Registration, also required guests to write down credit card info, which made me uncomfortable. 2: Still using old fashioned keys instead of key cards. Same key to open our old screen door and front door. Same key also open Gate door to street. NO additional door latches for extra security. Any previous tenants could have copied those keys. 3: They had the Worst WiFi connection. 4: DO NOT provide Basic necessities, such as: Shampoos, Conditioners, nor body Lotions. 5: Outdated Heating Systems. 6: No elevator! Not easy carrying luggage and climbing 15 stairs. 7: Old carpets and old furnishings in a newly installed windows Shutters for a one Bedroom apartment. Partially renovated? 8: Only One Modern telephone in Bedroom which was unplugged until I need to make calls. It was challenging for elderly or low tech people like me. A simple phone will serve the purpose. Especially for emergency? 9: Towel Exchange once a week on Tue or Wed based on room #, if you missed it , Tough Luck! 10: Before Check out, Paid guests need to do housekeeping chores by putting dirty dishes in dishWashing and emptying all trash and take to Dumpsters. This is Worst than Motel 6! Misleading Ads posted by Interval Exchange website. Definitely not qualify as a " Resort" ! Would not recommended.

COVID Concerns 37 years here every summer - my family started coming here when I was 15. That means we have stayed in multiple units, watched different management come and go over the years , most were pleasant, MOST. Each year there was always some NICE changes including multiple upgrades, we saw new shutters, furniture, renovations, new front door screens, new landscaping all over the property. Now that I have established some background, I feel like my words hold some weight. These photos say 1000 words. It's nasty now- Disgusting The pool and landscape looks new and very nice that's it. We are here during the last week in September 2020, which means we are still in Covid phase. I would expect the unit to be clean and even sanitary. We are stuck here, or we go home or to a hotel because there is not 1 unit available out of 49. I Understand there will be rust in some places, we are at the beach, but the mold and rust is beyond a couple of years, the black smelly junk didn't start last summer, these things started years ago. Why no one has fixed this is crazy. For the cost and monthly maintenance fees my family has paid for 37 years, I expect clean and I expect the appliances, mirrors, and beds to be maintained. These need to be replaced. And no housekeeping on Sunday and no available units - not 1 out of 49. I won't even start on the rude front desk woman. One last thing, she told me there was no housekeeping today, she lied, I passed her in the housekeeping area on her phone.

Nice clean rooms. No early check in or late check outs. Was a convenient location for our quick stop while traveling through the area.

PROS: - Perfect location day or night - quick walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants - Popular spot for bougie food or European style gelato and surprisingly even Mexican eats. - Sunsets are my weakness, but here it's even more special especially from the lobby - it's unreal and literally GLOWS! - Love coming during the evening when you have no major plans and this spot was lively! - Great for people-watching so grab a drink and enjoy the show! CHEERS! - Living room bar had live music and great vibes! Feel free to dance it off as well. - Staff and valet team were friendly and on point. - Restrooms were well-maintained and clean. - Decor is dreamy, relaxing, and very Euro-chic! CONS: - Ocean view is hit or miss depending on where you're situated. If you have a balcony you'll have the full effect. - Drinks are PRICEY (go figure!) but hey worth it-sh LOL - Gets crowded and and maybe rowdy. Some days seem chill and others not so chill. So if loud noise is not your jam on busy nights, you may have to pass. OVERALL: 4 stars for great vibes and just a beautiful spot!

We were greeted by what was, without exaggeration, one of the rudest women I have ever encountered in any restaurant. From the start, her attitude was openly hostile. Instead of welcoming us or offering even basic direction, she scolded our group for not knowing where to sit as if we were supposed to guess while offering nothing but judgmental looks in place of actual service. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly embarrassing to have brought guests into that kind of environment. The tone she set made it clear we were not welcome, and the experience deteriorated so quickly that we left without even ordering. We came prepared to spend a significant amount of money and tip generously. Instead, this establishment will not receive a single penny from me now or ever. There are far too many excellent places in San Diego to waste time on one that treats its guests with this level of disrespect. I will be going out of my way to recommend virtually anywhere else. Oh and I wanted to add that upon walking in there is no clear hostess table or area to check in. We were not greeted by any of the staff and were standing at the entrance for about 10 minutes until we eventually went up to the bar and asked if we could take a seat on the outside patio. This should have been our sign to leave as this place was not busy by any means. There was one other group dining in other than us. Every other table open. Yet we were left standing at the entrance receiving looks of disgust from the staff in the middle of the day I might add (no where near closing time). Anyway, the bartender told us of course we could sit outside and he would send someone out to us. Shortly after seating our selves this woman rushed over to scold us for sitting exactly where we were told we could sit. The bartender eventually ran over to let her know he told us to sit there but she was so busy chewing us out and wanted us gone she ignored him and continued with her speech where she told us we were "lucky this table wasn't already reserved". Again completely empty restaurant aside from one other table. The guests I brought here had even considered staying at this hotel during their visit but luckily went with a MUCH nicer hotel in La Jolla where the staff treated us with basic respect.

One of the pools is outside the lobby door. It is nicer that the other one, although there's no jaccuzi there. The second pool with jacuzzi is a three minute walk away and was closer to our room. Although when we were there, the pool was broken in that it wasn't heating. Not a big deal since the weather was hot. The beds were firm and clean. Great pillows, there was a firm option and a soft option offered on both beds. There was always plenty of parking at Hotel Indigo, and the price was $20 per day. The added benefit were four EV charging spots provided by InvisibleUrban. You'll have to download their app, sign up for an account, and pay to charge your car though there. The duration of our stay at Hotel Indigo was always peaceful and quiet. I was surprised since it is a great spot for families and there were many kids. You were not able to hear a peep. This location is perfect for those looking to visit the flower fields, legoland, torrey pines, san elijo preserve, del mar fairgrounds, and la jolla. Everyone in our group enjoyed staying at Hotel Indigo, and we're already planning a return trip!

A couple of friends were visiting from San Francisco and had one extra night left at this hotel that were not going to use it. So since they were taking me for dinner at nearby Jake's, my girlfriend offered me the empty room for the night so I didn't have to drive in the dark and also enjoy a beautiful morning doing my 10,000 steps while simultaneously meditating and recording an episode of my podcast in Spanish. I loved the room super spacious and with everything I needed (even if the coffee machine did not work for me). Being right there by the beach was a total treat. I feel loved by my friends, especially since I have not been out of San Diego since past September for budget reasons doing multiple jobs at the time. So I appreciate this generosity and being at Del Mar Beach hotel as it is one of my favorite beaches and brings so much joy. The decor in the small lobby is very surfer, cool vibe. Similar inside the room. The restaurant does not have restaurant for breakfast but they offer free coffee and you can buy simple sweets (although there are plenty of options to eat nearby). Parking at the back of the hotel, no problem finding a spot and it is validated. Awesome experience, chill people, glorious sunsets from there!

You can tell it was acquired by Marriott because it has a very unique layout and is not super commercialized. It has a very cute enclosed center area that was accessible by our back sliding glass door. We were here a couple nights while I was visiting family and we used our Marriott points to stay here. I will definitely say I've stated a lot of Marriott properties over the years and this one is definitely not the normal which isn't a bad thing or a good thing just expected to not feel like a Marriott. Nice location in Solana Beach. There's still street parking outside so you don't really need to pay for the parking here. Quick walk to popular beaches, coffee shops in the little Solana Beach strip. If you're doing anything in the quick vicinity is definitely a great area but keep in mind that if you plan on going south at all towards La Jolla or San Diego that traffic times I've gotten very intense, especially in the dozen or so years it's been since I've lived there. Pros: on the main drag and a relatively easy walk (or very very short drive) from the train station and Cedros. Close to lots of eats. Also easy beach access -- long stairway. Cons: bed too soft and too squeaky. There was a constant electrical hum in the room that came from an undetectable source. Bathroom in need of updates (cracked tiles and broken baseboards). Limited amenities on-site. Coffee was free at the bistro but wasn't advertised as such so we ignored it until the morning of our departure.
