Second time staying here and no doubt this place will most likely be our go to for lodging in Encinitas. Location is perfect. Within 1-2 miles of the main street in downtown & the beach and a hop and skip away from the 5 fwy. Convenient. The lobby is nice, lots of seating, dining tables with plenty of chairs. Little mini mart for your late night snacks & beverages. Rooms are huge & the beds are okay, pillows are a little flat, might just need replacement. Clean rooms & nice bathrooms. I love that they have smart TVs you can connect your Netflix subscription and a decent sized mini fridge and microwave! Continental breakfast included with the stay and I've got to say it's one of the best - eggs done two ways, scrambled & an egg white fritata, turkey sausage & pork sausage patties, red breakfast potatoes, cereals, baked goods, and the waffle bar... serving your regular waffle mix AND a PUMPKIN SPICE WAFFLE?!? It is the season. An assortment of juices & a separate coffee station... it really is the best! The ladies working the breakfast station were so sweet. Took off a star. Note for next time, request for a higher floor. We were in the 1st floor, while it was conveniently 3 doors away from the breakfast area... our upstairs neighbor seemed to be playing dance dance revolution until the wee hours of the morning. Didn't get a restful night.

This Hampton Inn is a few miles from Encinitas, and definitely within Cardiff. While the beach is certainly nearby, the hotel is central in between a large residential area + commercial one (gas station, a couple of Mexican restaurants). The property itself seems new. The rooms are impressive with plenty of natural light throughout. Well-constructed with walls that aren't paper thin. Parking is all over the property, yet the spaces within the front are fairly tight. The ones on the hillside are much better, if you don't feel like walking up a hill. Definitely returning here when needing to do business in Cardiff & Encinitas again.

You can't go wrong with the Hampton Inn no matter where you are. Fell in love with this chain in Little Rock AR so I was happy to make my weekend getaway here! The front desk girl was sooo nice! She made us feel welcome right away. Check in was easy and she told us about the to go breakfast immediately. The room was CLEAN CLEAN and tasteful. Big bathroom. The shower had DOORS, not just a flimsy curtain. Outlets and charging everywhere. Remote and TV were simple to use. I was able to raise and lower the blinds without any trouble. Plenty of towels, tissue, tp, and soap. Spacious closet with iron and hair dryer. Even had a microwave and fridge - the lobby had frozen dinners for purchase as well as snacks so it was very useful! It was even easier to check out! Had a wonderful stay and wouldn't change a thing. Thank you Hampton Inn!!

Checked in on Thursday evening after the races. Luggage carts by front door. Jose did a great job checking us in and answered all of our questions. Wifi was a bit troublesome checking in at first but a quick call to the front desk got us up and running. Since this is a business trip, having breakfast downstairs makes everything easier. Selection impressive with scrambled eggs, sausage (has turkey option), waffles juice bar, fresh fruit and bagles or toast. So far so good. Would definitely stay here again. Clean and the rooms are spacious. Good deal or rates, competitive if not a bit lower than others in the area. Haven't visited the pool yet or the exercise room as of yet.

Parking is a bit tricky as we didn't know parking was around back and in a garage that cost extra and if you have a taller vehicle you won't fit. We were lucky to find street parking but I imagine in summer that will be difficult. The bed was extra comfortable and the night was quiet. The roof top is amazing and you just want to stay the night up there long after sunset. Breakfast was a little strange. I understand now you can put in an order for tea, coffee, juice and muffin the night before or in the morning like we tried to do. The morning clerk seemed confused and apparently had to leave to go to the bakery just behind hotel on the street to pick up your orders and bring to your room. There was a little communication gap but before we could go back to the lobby to get the items it was brought to us. Not exactly what we asked for but the gesture was nice. The room was clean for the most part but I did clean some spider webs from the canopy bed top from one end to other and in the corner ceiling. Nothing too traumatic. Everything else was spot on. A hair dryer, nice robs beautiful shower. A lady and her kid near the office were a little loud and she allowed the kid to scream and run up and down stairs that was not fun to wake to. Those people always think their kids are so cute no one else could ever possibly mind their kids running around screaming in the morning. That was no fault of the hotel but it would have been nice if the man in the office would have asked her to be courteous of other guests. Maybe he did and she ignored him. I had to open our door and say " who is allowing their kid to scream and run up and down the stairs at 8 am? Being by the office I was heard but nothing was done about it by the parent or office. This should be an adult's only boutique hotel as it is small. There is no pool and it doesn't cater to families with small kids. Other than that we loved it and would go again in a heart beat and just may book again in summer. The price is ok on weekdays weekends can be pricey and add parking. You're paying for peace and quiet and view. Not kids in a pool, kid programs etc. So at the prices I want total serenity with exception of the train which was no big deal at all

After a long day at the Legoland water park my family of 4 was ready to shower and get to sleep. Unfortunately the house keeping, which I might add did a wonderful job, they forgot to add towels. I called the front desk, at least 5 times till I finally got through and asked if we could get more towels. She said I need to go grab them from the front , so I did! Once I got there the heavy set older white lady looked very overwhelmed and gave me 2 towels. I asked for 2 more since we are a family of 4. She said there were NO MORE TOWELS TILL THE MORNING !!! So you're telling me in this entire hotel there aren't any towels !!?? Find that hard to believe !! Also at night every other hour there is a train that passes by and blares its horn , so I could not get any sleep! Also at the pool there is no towels available once they are gone .

We stayed for a few nights during our home fumigation and after comparing just about every motel/inn around the Encinitas and Carlsbad area, I'm really glad we settled on this one. Pros: it is clean! That's not to be confused with showing its age, because it absolutely could use a facelift, but the cleanliness was there. It's convenient! Right by the freeway and yet close enough to downtown Encinitas to walk to dinner or shopping. Conveniently located right across the street from Lazy Acres, a laundromat, Mexican food, and Mr. Peabody's bar and grill. It has a nice little gym. Was there some dust? Sure but the equipment and weights did the trick, and the small gym had a little patio to stand on during cool downs. NO added cost to park cars! Some hotels were asking for $30-40 per night per vehicle and this place had the cost covered in the standard $15 hotel fee. Park as many cars as you'd like. Come and go as you please. The parking lot felt safe, and as a woman making several trips to my car in the evening I felt just fine. It's nice that you're up on a hill so you do feel more secluded from any possible unsavory surprises. No hidden fees! They are upfront about taxes and there were no surprises. WiFi was just fine, though our stay was not during busy season. Continental breakfast is included! Fried eggs and sausage were very average, but grab some coffee, a pastry, some toast, juice, cereal and you don't have to think twice about breakfast. It was basic but not gross by any means. This is not the place for you if you're expecting 5 star service, but it would be a great spot for families visiting town. Note: turn down service and daily cleaning is not provided but this was not an issue for us staying just a few days. Comfy beds and pillows, towels are nice. Front desk staff was helpful when needed, and every room has a nice balcony view. The walls are thin so if you're by the elevator or ice machine, expect to hear some kids running down the halls, but this place has everything we needed at a very affordable rate. We would absolutely come back for a little staycation in the future.

For example, the bathroom is spacious with a separate toilet area, and the gas fireplace is operated with a switch and a timer. We loved sitting in front of that fireplace on a chilly January evening. Linda and Earl were gracious hosts. It's clear this inn is a labor of love for them. They talked with us over breakfast but also gave us our space. I was delighted at the care they took to meet my dietary restrictions. The three-course meal was delicious, and Linda had even bought me a special sugar-free, flour-free treat at Whole Foods. What a nice touch to make me feel like a valued guest! There are only two guest rooms, so you can be assured of a peaceful stay and personal attention. The neighborhood is quiet too. It's just a short drive to Pacific Coast Highway or the beach. That stretch of PCH is great for walking, shopping and dining. The reservation process was unusual. I had to send a check ahead of time, made out to Linda personally, to guarantee my reservation, with the balance due in cash upon arrival. When Linda received my check, she sent a confirmation email.
