The negatives: If you like mildew smell on the linens, then this place is for you. They smell like the linens were left in the washer too long and then dried. We couldn't get rid of the smell from our pajamas. There's no onsite staff to get this corrected. The rooms do not have central air conditioning so many windows are open and there's a window fan. This means you hear all the noise outside. There's a train that runs all night long. Finally there was a loud humming sound that kept me up all night. Sounds like a condenser or something . For $370 a night, you expect better service and amenities.

This place was reasonably priced so my wife and I decided to give it a shot. There is no contact…read morewith anyone that works there, everything is done through phone, which was just fine with me. You get a parking spot and a key code to your door. Once inside you are greeted with a place that needs major work. The carpet is old and stained. The bed is really high off the ground and the furniture is worn. Because there is no air conditioning you have to open the windows, stripping away any perceived privacy. We were surrounded by other rooms, we either didn't have any neighbors or they were really quiet. I was able to hear someone talking through the wall as a mumble, but that went away. Because of the seemingly thin walls I avoided watching the laughably small and awkwardly hung t.v. The worst part was the bathroom which because of the ac situation makes you open a window that stares directly at the door of your neighbor. They do have a nice enough lobby area with some coffee and snacks as well as a good place to sit an enoy them. The location is the selling point, very close to the beach and a few blocks away from downtown, I didn't use a car while there. That was great. They also have a really cool rooftop hangout area with chairs to sit and relax. For what it's worth, my wife liked this place more then I did.

The decor is modern and coastal--totally Instagram-worthy--but also incredibly cozy and inviting. The location is unbeatable. Just steps from the beach and a short walk to great restaurants, coffee shops, and local boutiques, I truly felt like I had the best of Oceanside at my fingertips. I especially loved enjoying sunsets from the sun deck and waking up to the sound of the waves. Trevor was responsive, and made everything effortless from check-in to check-out. They clearly take pride in making guests feel welcome and at home. If you're looking for a peaceful, stylish beach retreat in a prime spot, this is it. I'm already planning my next trip back to Marbella--highly recommend!

We sat out front in the blue chairs in the evenings watching cars, and people pass on by. They have all you need there. I highly recommend it!!! Trust me, make it your getaway spot! You get your own Parking garage but our SUV was too big so we parked up on the street and if you park next to stairs leading down to the property it's a super easy when you check in and out. Beats paying for a hotel room. We will be returning soon for sure!!

We stayed for a wedding in San Marcos and had a much better stay than our friends that stayed elsewhere. They even came to visit last morning with us. You can book online, but I went through Amex Platinum this time. Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out at 11 AM, but they're very flexible. If you arrive early, they'll hold your luggage while you enjoy the pool and amenities or if a room is available, they'll check you in early. There's also an option to pay $50 for early check-in. Once you check in they give you a welcome drink! The property offers so many activities: *Pickleball *Gym *S'mores by the fire pits from 6-10 PM *Kayaking or paddleboarding: 1 hour a day to explore about 1.5 miles along the lake, passing beautiful homes and ducks floating by *Guitar check-out *Golf balls for use on their gorgeous course They have a private, adults-only pool for swimming, plus two large pools in the main area and a Jacuzzi. There's a bar available at the pools, which is convenient. Restaurants: *Almalfi Cuisine: Upscale Italian with an amazing wine selection, beautiful views, excellent service, and phenomenal dishes. *Almalfi Marina: Located below the upscale restaurant. You can sit at the bar to watch sports or at tables overlooking the lake. Happy hour is 3-6 PM, and I got a craft IPA for just $6, such a great deal! *Brickman's: Honestly, not my favorite. Breakfast can be disappointing. My friend's eggs Benedict was just a handful of spinach on sloppy-looking ham with an overcooked egg. The breakfast burrito is good, though, and the view overlooking the golf course is beautiful. Overall, this place is incredibly relaxing. You can choose a room with a pool or lake view, and it offers great value. Kid-friendly, complementary parking, and truly a hidden escape. Highly recommend for a low-stress, enjoyable stay.

Stayed here in April one night for anniversary and absolutely loved it. The small boutique hotel is…read morea hidden gem. the rooms have record players beautifully appointed and decorated style of boho mixed with mid century modern and romantic style. Parking is a bit tricky as we didn't know parking was around back and in a garage that cost extra and if you have a taller vehicle you won't fit. We were lucky to find street parking but I imagine in summer that will be difficult. The bed was extra comfortable and the night was quiet. The roof top is amazing and you just want to stay the night up there long after sunset. Breakfast was a little strange. I understand now you can put in an order for tea, coffee, juice and muffin the night before or in the morning like we tried to do. The morning clerk seemed confused and apparently had to leave to go to the bakery just behind hotel on the street to pick up your orders and bring to your room. There was a little communication gap but before we could go back to the lobby to get the items it was brought to us. Not exactly what we asked for but the gesture was nice. The room was clean for the most part but I did clean some spider webs from the canopy bed top from one end to other and in the corner ceiling. Nothing too traumatic. Everything else was spot on. A hair dryer, nice robs beautiful shower. A lady and her kid near the office were a little loud and she allowed the kid to scream and run up and down stairs that was not fun to wake to. Those people always think their kids are so cute no one else could ever possibly mind their kids running around screaming in the morning. That was no fault of the hotel but it would have been nice if the man in the office would have asked her to be courteous of other guests. Maybe he did and she ignored him. I had to open our door and say " who is allowing their kid to scream and run up and down the stairs at 8 am? Being by the office I was heard but nothing was done about it by the parent or office. This should be an adult's only boutique hotel as it is small. There is no pool and it doesn't cater to families with small kids. Other than that we loved it and would go again in a heart beat and just may book again in summer. The price is ok on weekdays weekends can be pricey and add parking. You're paying for peace and quiet and view. Not kids in a pool, kid programs etc. So at the prices I want total serenity with exception of the train which was no big deal at all
