I have a timeshare here so I'd like to take advantage of the day pass use. I enjoy the adult pool and Jacuzzi. The views cannot be beat. In terms of this being a resort, they really don't have any amenities for food. They have a small market near the front desk with snacks and a few drink drinks. I really think they need to add a restaurant because there's nothing within walking distance for eating. But since this is a timeshare the units have kitchens and the barbecue is available. However, since I'm here on my day pass, I don't have use of the kitchen and I don't feel like showing up with a bunch of stuff to barbecue. Anyway, there is plenty of seating at the adult pool, offering tables, chairs, and loungers. In the north west corner of the pool area is a semi private space with a table, an umbrella, and some loungers. It's a nice place to gather with friends. The pool here is always very clean. The temperature is good in the pool and in the Jacuzzi. I feel fortunate to be a part of this timeshare. The timeshare was purchased by Hilton so I think anybody can stay here if rooms are available. read more

The hotel staff is friendly and the grounds are kept nice. The resort is family friendly and is the main reason we come back every year. Unfortunately, Hilton has taken over the on-site Clubhouse with their high pressure sales office. Beware when you check- in they will schedule your 1hour "owner update" only to pressure you to buy in to the Hilton points system. Very bad customer service on behalf of the concierge. It is our feeling that they put up a front only to bilk sales for Hilton. We had rescheduled our day (and child missed school) to make sure we would be on time to their "owner update" only to find out they canceled (without any notification) because they "claim" our deeded weeks were bought through a 3rd party (not sure what they are talking about-smh). My hubby and I have been HGVC owners since 2015. I'm so stoked that we finally were able to stay at this resort. Overall, our stay was great! Saw some of the feedback that the bed was on the firmer side which was accurate. The pillows though compensated for that so not too bad. I was able to walk to the beach and watch the sunset. I would like to give a shoutout to Joelle, the assistant activities personnel, who was so helpful when I went down to get a Rootbeer Float and making my first tie dye t-shirt. Thank you Joelle! I do like that they have activities throughout the week and even a food truck 2x a week. Hopefully, we can stay here again since it was hard for me to reserve here. We have been coming here for years around the New Year. The grounds are nice and the beach is close by across the street. We stay in a one bedroom unit. We enjoy the sound of the waves and the view of the ocean. The kitchen is fairly well stocked and large enough to cook a meal. Nice size bathrooms. The resort is pretty close to Hwy 5 and is easy to reach. My only complaint is the beds. They are very firm. Some of the carpets, furniture and kitchen area are starting to look worn. This obviously doesn't prevent us from returning! We will return again next year. read more

They give away FREE refillable margarita at the pool in the afternoon. How smart is that?! Based on the location, amenities, pricing and rest of the accommodation, this is a gem of a resort hotel. Location: right off the 5 hwy and right on the Beach. You can see the ocean from your own room patio. The hotel is located on its own secluded street. It feels very safe. Legoland is 3 minutes away and you get the access all the surrounding stores. Room. Our 1 bedroom room has a fulled stocked kitchen. Everything is clean and look new. TV in both living room and bedroom. Own patio directly facing the Ocean. Comfortable sofa that can be turned into a sofa bed. Parking: Free underground parking. It has enough room for all the guest. Facilities: Id give this an A. 2 pools, tennis court, volleyball court, gym...great looking lobby. I can live here for months. Downside: I only have 2 complaints. One of the better resorts that's close to the Carlsbad beach. The resort is very conveniently located not too far from the 5 freeway and it's about 5 minutes drive to the Carlsbad Premium Outlet. With its ideal location to everything, the resort is best suited for family vacation. For us, we have kids wanting to go to Legoland and safaris as well as to Seaworld, from this location, all attractions are within 20 minutes drive. There are plenty of activities in the resorts too for both kids and adults. Kids can enjoy themselves with water park activities and game room. For adults, they can enjoy swimming, jacuzzi, biking, fire bound, BBQ and surfing. The rooms are quite new and clean. We had two bedroom suites room where we had a full kitchen and a dining table. We had 7 people for the trip and fitted everyone comfortably. All hotel guests are provided indoor parking and it's secure with gate. Only room keys can open the gate. There are many good restaurants nearby. Many different cuisines catering to varieties of tastes. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant near the pier. read more

Some recommendations would be to have easier access to the pool/beach towels. Our room was pretty far from the lobby and walking back and forth to get new towels and return the old ones was a bit of a mission. Most hotels have a station for towels near the pool area. I think you should accommodate this. The Pool area was also very slippery, both my daughter and I fell while just walking. Lastly the family pool was cold and the adult pool was heated. I asked if we could go to the adult pool and the front desk said no. Nobody was at the adult pool and it seems like adults with no kids loved the family pool and spa. It's a bit rude when families can't access the adult area yet adults want to use the family space and talk to minors. Incredibly uncomfortable. This location is beautiful. It is really close to the ocean, specifically North Ponto Beach. I walked there almost every morning. We stayed on the third floor. The picture I took was from my porch. The single room was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook with, although all I ever made was snacks and a sandwich. The adult pool was heated and open until 10. It was great to not have any kids around when I was trying to relax. The parking deck was easy to get in and out of. You can also park on the street. It is close to a lot of restaurants and a Ralph's grocery store. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this location. read more

We had to pay a steep price for the resort fees. As timeshare owners who frequently use direct exchange to come to the San Diego area, we're use to resort fees. I am not however accustomed to having to call the front desk everyday because something is broken or wrong! I thought they just completed a remodel?! Opening the door for the first time the whole suite smelled like spoiled hazelnut coffee. The smell was so intense it gave me a migraine for two days. It was all over the couch and they gave me a hard time about having the maids come and clean it because it was after 5pm. We couldn't sit in the living room as a family on our family vacation. The overhead lighting in both rooms wouldn't turn on with the pull switch. Maintenance came and fixed it. Another night my son kept waking up sick. I wanted to move him to the pull out couch so he didn't wake up his sister- the bed was broken and wouldn't open. Perfect. I am currently sitting in my room while the kitchen sink overflows from the garbage disposal. Maintenance has been here about an hour (and counting) already... We still have three nights... at this point I'll be thankful if the fireplace doesnt explode and kill us. Definitely wouldn't recommend it, at least not to anyone I want to have a good time. The location is FANTASTIC but You need functioning and clean rooms. And sadly that has not been my experience. The maintenance staff has been super nice though! We've really gotten to spend some quality time with them. read more

I genuinely wanted to enjoy my stay at this resort, but several issues made that difficult--even though I was only there for one night. I wasn't aware the resort was undergoing renovations, which led to an unusual parking situation. Many spots were occupied by discarded furniture, water heaters, and trash. One of the bedroom doors was misaligned and could barely close without forcing it across the carpet. The room itself felt more like an old motel--several areas were poorly maintained, and the overall cleanliness was lacking. The toilet seat was loose and tilted to one side. Noise was also a problem, with loud footsteps, slamming, and crying children coming from the unit above late at night and early in the morning. Both the room and the surrounding areas showed a lack of attention to maintenance and upkeep. I had only come down for a quick visit, but unfortunately, I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it--especially considering the price I paid. read more

This place is very large for an HGV location, though it does not live up to some of the expectations, the staff however are very accommodating. The downs: I've not stayed lacking a washer and dryer in unit with two bedrooms before. I'm guessing something exists on premesis, though if I have to go to an offsite wash I will update. The grounds are under maintenance, and the in unit fireplace is not available .. in December. I understand not taking a week of summer to update the units, though frankly it seems odd to convert gas fireplaces to electric in the week after my stay, which will end up being the third week of December, perhaps someone timed upgrades poorly. The night staff did not inform me of all the information I should have had, and I had to rely on more informative help like Dexter (see below). The ups: The third floor has a beautiful ocean view, and there are very few visitors around. There was a very kind staff member, Dexter, on 9/12/ 24 who was an informative host at the afternoon event. The information allowed me additional resources for my stay which I hope partake in, I would not have the opinion without his information for a club member. That said, as an HVG member I will need to speak with the host tomorrow, I was informed after station hours today. Overall: I still have several days here, though I look forward to experiencing more with quality staff like Dexter to keep my stay the grand experience it has started out being. read more

Right now sitting by the pool under the lovely cabana, while kids are thrilled with the pool and splash area. Our first day here with the families, all "family". The kids had been excited to go to the beach and we will, but they saw the pool and splash and play on the way in and squealed unanimously and in unison, "Pool!!!!". Great place for a quick getaway from LA! Our group of adults really enjoyed this property as it was across the street from the beach and the adult pool was beautiful! Our room was sealed off to let us know no one had entered. The dishwasher was also full and sealed so you know all the dishes are clean and no one has touched them! Finally I was surprised to find that even the sofa sleeper had a seal on it to show it was cleaned! My only complaint about the room was that the walls within the unit were paper thin and if you are not on the top floor then you'll definitely hear the people above you walking. For me I'm a light sleeper so it made it difficult for me to sleep as I could hear everything from the living room even with the door closed. There are 2 pools, one for adults and families. Unfortunately the hot tubs are closed for safety. But the adult pool overlooks the beach and it makes for a beautiful sunset! Walking across the street to the beach was easy as well and you don't have to worry about parking. The front desk also offers complimentary beach rentals such as umbrellas, chairs, and boogie boards! There is also a nice game room with ping pong, foosball, and arcade games! There is also street parking right outside the units! During the day it can be more difficult to park due to beach goers but if you need an extra spot to park a car there's no overnight parking restrictions. Overall a great stay and very clean rooms! Amenities were a big plus and it's location close to Carlsbad village and the beach made our stay very enjoyable! read more

We are owners. They did tell us there would be construction however they never said that there would be scaffolding and men walking around, looking into our room. I understand construction and renovations however, this is an invasion of privacy. So we have a 3rd floor room with a view....are we supposed to close our blinds so men don't look into our room? Now the view is obstructed and there is no privacy. It's unfortunate because we have been owners for 10 years and this is how they treat owners? Very professional, friendly and accommodating staff. The room was spectacular - clean and with an outstanding view. A two minute walk from the beach was a plus! Love the pools and hot tubs (adults and family ones are separate to accommodate everyone) The little details such as how the towels and toilet were folded were so well thought out. This is a FIVE STAR resort that has grown a little tired around the edges. Our room was perfectly laid out and decorated beautifully. We were surprised that the living room ceiling fan only had a high speed, though the bedroom fan did NOT run at all!! A few other little details were also mildly irritating and we let the desk know about these pesky maintenance items. We insisted on a "quiet room" away from families and noise from the pool and our room actually "fit the bill" however, there were so MANY small children making noise and running all over I'm not sure how much difference it made. Luckily these building are exceptionally well built and with doors closed...it is fairly quiet...even with the commuter trains just behind us! There so many great things to say about Seapointe and we are confident the "little details" will be promptly attended to... CHECK IT OUT!!! read more

No problem because this resort is also close to Carlsbad outlet! All in less than 10 mins drive! Love our ocean view! Watched the sunset through our balcony! Great weather (around June)! Nice and helpful stuff. The reason why i gave it 4 stars was because I have one incident where they had margarita Monday, and in the activity paper it says, from 5-5:30pm (complimentary). Got so excited that I told my family we have to be back before 5 pm. Got to the lobby around 5:15 and they told me it was over and they said that it was at 3:30-4pm. I got dissapointed because I was in a hurry to get back and all of a sudden the time changed. So I told them that it says 5-5:30 on the paper. So the girl on the front desk went back and asked someone about the Margarita. A guy came and told me that he made a type error on the paper but he'll see what he can do. After few mins, he came out with the Margaritas! I appreciate that! Thank you.. Another reason is, they ONLY have 30 minutes for their complimentary breakfast (that consists of eggs, oatmeal, sausage, cereal, orange juice, teas and coffees) from 9 -9:30am. Which is okay, but hoped that they had bacon.. hehe. Just for your info, I think they only have it on Mondays; not every morning. On the other hand, I liked the fact that they have announcements and raffles afterwards! But may I make a REQUEST?!.. I wish they will make their complimentary breakfast and margaritas a little longer! Atleast an hour and add bacon on their breakfast! February 2024 This place was fantastic. I stayed in February 2024 for 3 nights, it was the perfect time to come as it was really quiet and great to avoid the crowds. Beach was just across the road. The pool and jacuzzi was surrounded on 3 sides with views of the Pacific Ocean. T Not crowded was perfect time of year. Gym had most of what you needed and had a unique open concept. Free ping pong and billiards which was nice. Lobby was nice with space to lounge and couple of fire pits. The landscaping team did a great job with the upkeep of everything. Had the tennis court and basketball. Carlsbad town center was great with the beach walk and Tortilla Mia-a Mexican restaurant was fantastic. Great waves for surfing too. Any golf lovers, we played at San Clemente Municipal Golf Course. 26 miles away with amazing views on the fairway. The only note was you have to get new towels at the lobby but didn't find it a big deal. I definitely recommend this place and will be coming back. read more

Before getting settled into the other room I lifted the mattress to check for bed bugs and the new room also had bed bugs. I requested to be moved to another location. Something to consider is the train on the north side of the building, which seems to go by 4-6 times a day. Fortunately, there is no midnight train, but can come around 6 AM. The rooms are okay, but are starting to show age. The BBQ outside is a nice touch, but I wonder how many others use it before you. The rooms have fireplaces, which actually heat the living room and is nice to have on a cool evening. There a sunken bath and separate shower, which is nice to have to pamper yourself or to just shower. I'm nor sure whether all rooms were like this, bit it seems hot water was not consistent, and could not fill the tub with hot water. Certainly a nice hot bath would have been nice. An okay hotel/resort, but I probably would not come back. read more

I was fortunate enough to have my wedding at the Carlsbad sea pointe resort Clubhouse. It was beautiful !!! Brooke was tremendously helpful is every possible way and very communicative during the whole process- which is essential with something as delicate as wedding planning. For my reservation I had a dance floor put in which was nice. I was bummed that the venue only allotted for 100 guests, but it worked out regardless. We had access to a kitchen space and refrigerator as well as the surrounding patio! Great view of the ocean of course ! Loved it so much that we are hosting my son's 1st birthday party here. I Am A Owner At Carlsbad Sea Pointe Resort. In Carlsbad. For The Memorial Day Week From 5/26/24 To 5/30/24 I Allowed My Family Members To Stay As My Guest. The Unit Was On The 3rd Floor. There Was A lot Of Noise With Construction And Problems. They Were Repairing The Elevators.The Guest Were Not Allowed To Use Them. They Were Trapped In Their Rooms For 4 Days Because You Had To Use The Stairs. One Of My Guest Is Disabled And Uses A Cane And A Walker, He Was Afraid Of Falling Down The Stairs. This Was A Hazard And Unacceptable, What If A Real Emergency Had Occurred, Such As A Fire !!! This Was Very Dangerous, Irresponsible And A Threat To Everyone's Safety That Was Disabled Staying There. On Friday, The Contractors Started Removing Carpet From A Nearby Unit. All The Roaches And Bugs From That Unit And Carpet Invaded Our Unit. I Have These Bugs And Other Problems With This Place On Video Tape. I Will Try To Attach Copies. My Guest Did Complain To Management And They Did Apologize.? A Apology Is Not Good Enough! This Was A Vacation From Hell. This Resort Knew In Advance All The Construction Project Problems For That Week And Should Have Cancelled All The Reservations. I Think It Was All About Getting Paid For The Holiday, At The Guest Expense. The HOA Fees Are $2,100.00 Per Year. That's A lot To Pay For A Property With So Many Problems. The Construction And Repairs May Last Until 2026. I Don't Advise Staying Here Until Their Construction Is Complete. Visit from 11/2020. This is a nice resort across from the state beach. The ocean views from the first floor are partially blocked by the bluff. Check in staff was friendly and they are taking Covid precautions seriously. Parking was a bonus as they had underground or street parking available. I do imagine street parking in the summer would be more difficult. We had a one bedroom suite which was spacious and the fireplace was nice in the evenings. The only thing I found off putting about the suite is that the bedroom with its big window was right on the walkway/corridor. Best place to stay ever! The staff is friendly, helpful and the view are spectacular! It is a great place for families and adults. I feel safe and and would stay here again. I have no complaints. When my son was stung by a jellyfish the staff was accommodating and helpful locating Apple cider vinegar from for me to use to treat his sting. I believe he name was Ma Malina she cleaned our room and always helpful. read more

Let me first start with the positives: ........................[crickets].........................[cricket]............................ SCAM ALERT AHEAD Now the negatives: This is our third stay at SeaPointe. We stayed once on a whim (we live locally in a very rural area and didn't have good WiFi and stayed here to watch the Super Bowl). We had rented a two bedroom and very much enjoyed the stay. We had received a call to purchase another 3 night stay at a discounted rate, but we declined. We did stay several months later (again in a two bedroom) after a birthday party in Encinitas. We along with several other attendees stayed again (in a two bedroom). The next morning we were invited to purchase the 3 night stay for $199 and so we did (please note you do need to attend a time share presentation as well.) Two months later we lost our home in the San Diego fires. I cannot tell you how many times they called to get me to make the reservations while we were struggling to figure out our lives post fire. After we were all settled (a little over a year) we booked our reservation. When it came to check into the hotel, there was a discrepancy in what the arrival date was. They had us arriving the 9th of June and we showed the 10th. After going back and forth many times we decided to go for the 2 nights and then move to another hotel for an additional $70. We felt like since we were obligated to a 2 hour time share presentation that we might as well book the extra day. The time share presentation was super frustrating. They want you to book so badly that they offer a "one time discount" along with other incentives. When I asked if they would honor this at a later time (you could book other Carlsbad hotels OTHER THAN this nightmare hotel), we were told they would not honor the booking discount. Had I known that you'd NEVER RECEIVE THAT DEAL AGAIN, I would have postponed my stay until we were in a better financial state (again, just suffered a total loss in the fire. Buying a timeshare when we haven't recovered financially would have been irresponsible but it did not mean we didn't love the idea at staying at any of the other properties that again, were not Sea Pointe.
