SO relaxing. walkable distance to the beach that feels semi private. no where we went was crowded so it was nice. keycards to everything so no randos.

My hubby and I have been HGVC owners since 2015. I'm so stoked that we finally were able to stay at this resort. Overall, our stay was great! Saw some of the feedback that the bed was on the firmer side which was accurate. The pillows though compensated for that so not too bad. I was able to walk to the beach and watch the sunset. I would like to give a shoutout to Joelle, the assistant activities personnel, who was so helpful when I went down to get a Rootbeer Float and making my first tie dye t-shirt. Thank you Joelle! I do like that they have activities throughout the week and even a food truck 2x a week. Hopefully, we can stay here again since it was hard for me to reserve here. This time, I'll bring my kids and have my friends check it out.

We have been coming here for years around the New Year. The grounds are nice and the beach is close by across the street. We stay in a one bedroom unit. We enjoy the sound of the waves and the view of the ocean. The kitchen is fairly well stocked and large enough to cook a meal. Nice size bathrooms. The resort is pretty close to Hwy 5 and is easy to reach. My only complaint is the beds. They are very firm. Some of the carpets, furniture and kitchen area are starting to look worn. This obviously doesn't prevent us from returning! We will return again next year.

Beautiful spot, fun little get together in a great area. Rooms were clean, bbq and music at pool.

They give away FREE refillable margarita at the pool in the afternoon. How smart is that?! Based on the location, amenities, pricing and rest of the accommodation, this is a gem of a resort hotel. Location: right off the 5 hwy and right on the Beach. You can see the ocean from your own room patio. The hotel is located on its own secluded street. It feels very safe. Legoland is 3 minutes away and you get the access all the surrounding stores. Room. Our 1 bedroom room has a fulled stocked kitchen. Everything is clean and look new. TV in both living room and bedroom. Own patio directly facing the Ocean. Comfortable sofa that can be turned into a sofa bed. Parking: Free underground parking. It has enough room for all the guest. Facilities: Id give this an A. 2 pools, tennis court, volleyball court, gym...great looking lobby. I can live here for months. Downside: I only have 2 complaints. No breakfast offering and slow internet. Overall, Great hotel. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

One of the better resorts that's close to the Carlsbad beach. The resort is very conveniently located not too far from the 5 freeway and it's about 5 minutes drive to the Carlsbad Premium Outlet. With its ideal location to everything, the resort is best suited for family vacation. For us, we have kids wanting to go to Legoland and safaris as well as to Seaworld, from this location, all attractions are within 20 minutes drive. There are plenty of activities in the resorts too for both kids and adults. Kids can enjoy themselves with water park activities and game room. For adults, they can enjoy swimming, jacuzzi, biking, fire bound, BBQ and surfing. The rooms are quite new and clean. We had two bedroom suites room where we had a full kitchen and a dining table. We had 7 people for the trip and fitted everyone comfortably. All hotel guests are provided indoor parking and it's secure with gate. Only room keys can open the gate. There are many good restaurants nearby. Many different cuisines catering to varieties of tastes. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant near the pier.

This place is really special. Perfect for families and easy access to the beach. Staff was incredibly friendly, grounds were clean, and lots to do on site. Some recommendations would be to have easier access to the pool/beach towels. Our room was pretty far from the lobby and walking back and forth to get new towels and return the old ones was a bit of a mission. Most hotels have a station for towels near the pool area. I think you should accommodate this. The Pool area was also very slippery, both my daughter and I fell while just walking. Lastly the family pool was cold and the adult pool was heated. I asked if we could go to the adult pool and the front desk said no. Nobody was at the adult pool and it seems like adults with no kids loved the family pool and spa. It's a bit rude when families can't access the adult area yet adults want to use the family space and talk to minors. Incredibly uncomfortable. Very minor negative things but worth the mention.

This location is beautiful. It is really close to the ocean, specifically North Ponto Beach. I walked there almost every morning. We stayed on the third floor. The picture I took was from my porch. The single room was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook with, although all I ever made was snacks and a sandwich. The adult pool was heated and open until 10. It was great to not have any kids around when I was trying to relax. The parking deck was easy to get in and out of. You can also park on the street. It is close to a lot of restaurants and a Ralph's grocery store. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this location.

The stain on the couch I had to take a photo AND walk to the front desk to show it to them. They still didn't want to send someone

We had to pay a steep price for the resort fees. As timeshare owners who frequently use direct exchange to come to the San Diego area, we're use to resort fees. I am not however accustomed to having to call the front desk everyday because something is broken or wrong! I thought they just completed a remodel?! Opening the door for the first time the whole suite smelled like spoiled hazelnut coffee. The smell was so intense it gave me a migraine for two days. It was all over the couch and they gave me a hard time about having the maids come and clean it because it was after 5pm. We couldn't sit in the living room as a family on our family vacation. The overhead lighting in both rooms wouldn't turn on with the pull switch. Maintenance came and fixed it. Another night my son kept waking up sick. I wanted to move him to the pull out couch so he didn't wake up his sister- the bed was broken and wouldn't open. Perfect. I am currently sitting in my room while the kitchen sink overflows from the garbage disposal. Maintenance has been here about an hour (and counting) already... We still have three nights... at this point I'll be thankful if the fireplace doesnt explode and kill us. Definitely wouldn't recommend it, at least not to anyone I want to have a good time. The location is FANTASTIC but You need functioning and clean rooms. And sadly that has not been my experience. The maintenance staff has been super nice though! We've really gotten to spend some quality time with them.

Beautiful decor, simple, fresh, open with our view of the ocean

Families! This is what you've always hoped for. Great price for full accommodations, full kitchen, living area, spacious lovely condo retreat. I always appreciate value for families. Right now sitting by the pool under the lovely cabana, while kids are thrilled with the pool and splash area. Our first day here with the families, all "family". The kids had been excited to go to the beach and we will, but they saw the pool and splash and play on the way in and squealed unanimously and in unison, "Pool!!!!". We all know when the kids are happy, we're even happier. Just living the dream in Carlsbad!

Sealed door

Great place for a quick getaway from LA! Our group of adults really enjoyed this property as it was across the street from the beach and the adult pool was beautiful! Our room was sealed off to let us know no one had entered. The dishwasher was also full and sealed so you know all the dishes are clean and no one has touched them! Finally I was surprised to find that even the sofa sleeper had a seal on it to show it was cleaned! My only complaint about the room was that the walls within the unit were paper thin and if you are not on the top floor then you'll definitely hear the people above you walking. For me I'm a light sleeper so it made it difficult for me to sleep as I could hear everything from the living room even with the door closed. There are 2 pools, one for adults and families. Unfortunately the hot tubs are closed for safety. But the adult pool overlooks the beach and it makes for a beautiful sunset! Walking across the street to the beach was easy as well and you don't have to worry about parking. The front desk also offers complimentary beach rentals such as umbrellas, chairs, and boogie boards! There is also a nice game room with ping pong, foosball, and arcade games! There is also street parking right outside the units! During the day it can be more difficult to park due to beach goers but if you need an extra spot to park a car there's no overnight parking restrictions. Overall a great stay and very clean rooms! Amenities were a big plus and it's location close to Carlsbad village and the beach made our stay very enjoyable!

Blocked view of the beach

We are owners. They did tell us there would be construction however they never said that there would be scaffolding and men walking around, looking into our room. I understand construction and renovations however, this is an invasion of privacy. So we have a 3rd floor room with a view....are we supposed to close our blinds so men don't look into our room? Now the view is obstructed and there is no privacy. It's unfortunate because we have been owners for 10 years and this is how they treat owners? Who pay for all these renovations and upgrades I can't imagine how they treat regular customers. The kicker is no one is willing to do anything about this.

Gorgeous view from our second-story unit at Seapointe Resort!

This was a lovely comfortable stay for the most part. It was sad to see the room was in need of general maintenance, and was beginning to show wear in several places. Concepción from housekeeping did a fantastic job for us, and was courteous and professional. Hopefully Sea point resort will recognize her as a dedicated employee!

Ask the Community - Carlsbad Seapointe Resort

Is this walking disrance goin to beach?

Yes, the resort is across the highway from the beach and is walkable. There is a crosswalk and then you have to walk down a little to the beach. There is a lifeguard station and public restrooms, too.

Is this resort on the beach?

All rooms look out AT the beach/ocean, however, Carlsbad Boulevard runs between the resort and the beach. There is a controlled cross walk over to the beach and it is a fairly easy walk!

Are pets allowed?

No, pets aren’t allowed. Works for me, I don’t like staying in rooms that have had pets in them.

Golf course maintenance crews are up and at it, around 6:30 in the morning(!!). Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep and, when asked to change rooms, they were booked and had nothing available for us. As for dining... "room service" is a joke where you order online, get charged $40 for them to bring it to your room and, it's cold by the time it gets there. We had Easter brunch at Vue which was just ok. I got the eggs Benedict which, when cut open, revealed clear runoff of barely cooked egg - instantly made my hunger disappear. My husband's breakfast, the chorizo scramble, and son's breakfast, pancakes, were totally fine and edible. For the amount of money it is to stay here, I think it's 1000% overrated and we'll skip it next time we're in SD, for sure. There's really no need to come here.

What I loved most was the room, especially the shower. It had a thoughtfully designed, thick glass door that opened easily. In most hotels, I hesitate before turning on the water, bracing for that sudden burst of heat overhead. But here, everything was arranged with care, so I could step in comfortably and enjoy the shower without that small anxiety. The details in the room made it even better--a Nespresso machine ready for a slow morning, and a proper water kettle, which always feels like a small luxury. The bed was soft and welcoming, the kind you sink into at the end of a long day. We didn't have an ocean view, but the patio had its own charm--quiet, intimate, and enough to make you pause. The best part, though, was the beach. Just a short walk down the stairs, and your feet meet the sand. The shoreline isn't wide, but it stretches beautifully along the coast. I found myself walking there in the mornings and again in the evenings, letting the rhythm of the waves mark the day. That simple routine--down the stairs, onto the sand--became the most memorable part of the stay.

We loved the view from inside the room and from the balcony. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of preparing our room for our arrival and restocking on the day we needed a few more items. There were so many options for personalizing our room stay, but we were happy with what came standard in the room. We arrived early and got a parking pass so we could go out and explore the area while waiting for check-in. The check-in process was also quick and easy. We started each day with the complimentary breakfast items and were happy with the options. I stopped in at the end of each night to grab hot apple cider from the lobby, and we enjoyed it while sitting at one of the many fire pits before going back to the room. The only odd moment was on our last night when two fire pits turned off as we went to sit at them. The first turned off next to the lobby, then we moved to a second in the pool area that also turned off. After the second one, we just went back to our room and looked back to see both working again. When we got to the front desk to check in, we had to wait while staff checked in another guest, which was understandable. However, after waiting patiently, multiple guests who arrived after us were helped before we were. Even a family who walked in later was taken ahead of us, which was frustrating and set a negative tone right from the start. I asked about upgrading to an ocean view room and was offered a room for an additional $100 that barely had a view at all. On top of that, I had booked a room with two queen beds, and they tried to offer a one-king bed room instead, which didn't make sense for a family stay. Once we got to the room, the beds did not appear to be true queen size and the room had a strong unpleasant odor. The air conditioning did not cool properly, and some areas of the room did not seem clean. We tried to make the best of the evening since we were only staying one night. Later in the evening, after I had taken a shower and was simply walking around the room while my family watched TV, we received a noise complaint and someone knocked on our door. We were not being loud at all -- just normal movement in the room. It was surprising and honestly upsetting to be approached about noise when we were simply settling in for the night. It made the stay uncomfortable and took away from what was supposed to be a relaxing beach getaway. Overall, the cleanliness, room conditions, and customer service need improvement. The property has a great location, but our experience did not match the expectations.

Given the price point, you'd expect a lot more from your hotel, but there were several issues and I'll list them by bullet point to better point them out: * There was a slow leak coming from what looks like an attic opening on the ceiling. We were suspicious after the first night why there was a puddle of water on the ground near the entrance but was very surprised to find out later that it was actually a leak. We left our shoes in that area and unfortunately for me, the water splash got all over my Birkenstocks which has a cork footbed that should not be wet. * The shower leaks quite dramatically from the piping that comes out of the wall, and thus gives us less water pressure. * The coffee machine was not working. The button to start the machine is completely stuck and will not budge. * The TV appears to be very old. They offer Netflix but when you play anything, only the audio would play and the video is stuck on an endless buffering loop. * The hallway lights are super dim. I'm not sure if they are doing that on purpose to save on electricity but it reminds you of entering some hotel in a horror film where visibility is super low because of how dark it is. * The restaurant located inside the hotel is RIDICULOUS with their prices... For breakfast they offer milk and cereal...for $11. I mean c'mon. That's just straight up price gouging. The few positives were that the staff are really nice and accomodating, the beds are comfortable, and the private entrance was really convenient. We were expecting a lot more based on the price we paid and comparing to other hotels in the same tier and unfortunately was quite disappointed.
