Allot for time to account for drivers canceling on you.) Hotel itself: so much fun! Lego bricks everywhere. The pirate ship on the first floor was a hit. Free breakfast buffet helped kick off each day nicely. Sound proofing was much better than typical mid-tier hotels. Elevator dance parties were fantastic. Service: hotel service was great! Very nice and friendly though sometimes hard to locate staff. Restaurant service was hit or miss. Pool: very fun, nice temperature controlled pool. Lots of floating Lego bricks. All kids are required to wear life jackets. Even though there was a sign that there was no lifeguard, clearly 3 lifeguards were circling at all times. The ground was very hot in the sun though - too hot to stand around. Towels were provided. Complimentary goodies: 2 bottles of water and 2 juice boxes are provided everyday. And 2 Lego bags in the Treasure Box (if you solve the scavenger hunt) each day too. Housekeeping: nice and quick and clean. But they don't refill everything. It's faster if you request by texting if you're low on anything (towels, tissue, etc) as they might not refill during routine housekeeping. Room type: fully themed rooms are all the way at the end of each hallway, quite a bit of a walk. The regularly themed rooms were already well decorated. I'd recommend just going with regularly themed. Misc: there is a CVS vending machine on the first floor with allergy, fever, nausea medication, saline, etc. The pricing wasn't outrageously marked up. My son got hit in the head by the large spinning wheel in the Castle restaurant after an older kid spun it really hard. Thankfully he was okay, but it was scary and not exactly how we expected our first night to go. The next morning, we accidentally booked the wrong breakfast because the tablet reservation system was confusing. I wasn't asking to be seated right away or for special treatment -- I literally just wanted to be added to the waitlist for the correct breakfast. The hostess seemed visibly annoyed, and I actually saw the host roll his eyes at me. It felt incredibly unnecessary and honestly just rude. Then the room and hotel issues kept adding up. We had a dirty ice cup, the fridge barely got cold, the Wi-Fi was almost unusable, the TVs felt outdated, there were stained floors and dirty LEGO pieces in some areas, and it took forever just to get a bath stopper brought to the room. Later, we ordered food through the tablet in our room and waited about an hour and a half before finding out the restaurant supposedly never received the order. We had clearly placed it through the tablet, so at that point we had hungry kids and were beyond frustrated. When I spoke with the manager, she came across as condescending and dismissive. I didn't feel like there was much empathy at all, and it honestly felt like she just wanted to wrap up the conversation and get me out of there instead of actually listening or trying to make the situation right. That was kind of the theme of the stay: the technology kept causing problems, and when we needed help, we often felt like we were bothering the staff. It was also surprisingly hard to get ahold of an actual person unless we physically went to the front desk. They did offer us a $50 credit, which I appreciate, but for the price of this hotel and how many things went wrong, it doesn't really matter. What makes it harder to justify is that we've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for around the same price and had excellent service. I know they're different resorts, but at a similar price point, the difference in service was huge. The LEGO theming is cute and my kids loved that part, but the actual hotel experience did not come close to matching the price. This was our first LEGOLAND trip, and unfortunately, it may also be our last. PS. I forgot to add this originally but the flashing green light in the master bedroom was SO annoying and made it really hard to sleep. There was also a wet spot on the very edge/corner of the bed that would not dry. I have no idea what caused it, but it definitely happened while we were out of the room. Nothing too crazy but the remote was sticky, there were a couple of hairs in the sink, and the door handle to the bathroom was gross. Everything else was relatively clean and there were no bed bugs on the beds or curtains. I thought we were safe. That night, I saw my daughter's back after her shower. I've included a picture. I couldn't pinpoint the source of the issue yet so we put lotion on her and went to bed. The next day we went to the Safari Park so we weren't in the room until the evening. That's when I sat on the couch. Within a few minutes, I started to get itchy. I immediately got off the couch and showered. So now we've identified the issue. The couch. By this time, we were already packed up to check out the next morning so it didn't make sense to switch rooms and have to wipe down another room. At check out, on May 28, 2026, I informed the front desk about the issue with couch and let them know that they should inspect it. I didn't ask for compensation, just informed them that they needed to clean the couch and possibly steam it because I suspected that it was dust or dust mites that caused the reactions. On the morning June 2, 2026, our daughter still had red marks on her back so this must be more serious than I initially thought. I called Marriott customer service. Janice was so nice, apologizing for the experience and offered to put in a request to refund one night's room rate and taxes. I thought that was fair and thanked her. That evening, I get an email for Rachel Ramos, Operations manager of SpringHill Suites Escondido (cced to Devon Akpom, the General Manager, I believe, and msanchez), saying that they were denying the refund request because they looked in the room and "didn't see anything" except a June bug. Girl. Since when can you see dust or dust mites on a fabric couch with the naked eye? A dismissal with an added insult to my intelligence. I reached back out to Marriott customer service on June 3, 2026 and spoke with Gloria. She said she couldn't override their decision so I asked to the issue to be escalated. She said that maybe if I reached out to Rachel Ramos, that maybe they'll offer me Marriott Bonvoy points. I let her know that I'm not interested in Bonvoy points because if this issue isn't resolved, I won't be staying at any more Marriott Hotels. Today is June 4, 2026. My daughter still has red marks on her back, even after Children's Allegra and lotion. We'll have to take her to the pediatrician. Don't make the mistake I did of booking a room here. UPDATE: 6/8/2026 Took our daughter to the pediatrician on Thursday, 6/4. Pediatrician confirmed that it was Contact Dermatitis. My 8-year-old daughter was prescribed an adult dose of antihistamines for a week and a prescription-strength steroidal cream. When I called Marriott back to update them about the doctor visit, I found out that Rachel Ramos had closed the case on June 3 after I escalated it without any further contact. I guess she thought she was clever. I've had the case reopened and escalated to corporate. The next step is to contact the legal department. Moral of the story, if you plan on staying here, budget in for medical bills and as always, keep your receipts.

But there seemed to be no supervision and screaming was heard clearly through our door all night both nights we stayed. Even worse was the DOOR SLAMMING. I'm not exaggerating - someone was slamming a door as hard as they could with all their might, maybe 3 or 4 times. Door exits into the open pool atrium (like all of our front doors) so the SLAM echoes loudly for all to hear. Impossible that staff didn't hear it. Then, same thing next night. Screaming kids and door slamming. For $450 a night, we shouldn't have had to deal with this. Also, thought it was weird that the entire property does not have one single public water fountain. Isn't that like against some public health code.. they did have a little electric water cooler in the lobby with a sopping wet towel under it for guest use though. Makes up for it I guess? There were also minor wear and tear throughout the condo that they should be addressing; scrapes and peeling of paint. Very minor. Also, if you're planning in cooking, beware that they only have 2 pans. Also, their wifi was extremely slow. Other drawback is if you come in a large vehicle, kinda hard of navigating it in their narrow parking lot. A big plus was how safe we felt in the condo. They take safety serious. You need your card and access code for everything. Highly recommend this place. Definitely will be back.
