My mechanic in Brighton referred me to Brighton Auto Body for repairs to my front bumper and hood after someone hit it. I went and got my estimate and then ended up setting my appointment with Matt to take the car in 2 weeks in advance. So I take it in and they weren't ready for me. I had to go back home and get them all of the information again. Annoying and unorganized but I got my car in. I was then told the parts would be ordered and my car would be ready on a particular Friday. That day comes around and I make arrangements but then Matt says it's not ready but will be the following Friday. And again, pretty annoying. Fast forward to when it was ready, I go in and make payment and Matt gives me the paperwork and my keys and we go out back to my car. He had to move a different car that was in front of mine so I could get out. But all he said was ok your car is ready and you're good to go and pulled that car away. He didn't go over the work with me and show me what they did. I've never had any other body shop do that. Other shops showed me the work they've performed along with the paperwork. Also, other shops advised me not to use a pressure washer on the car after it was freshly painted and how long it would take the paint to cure. I got none of that from him. It felt like he just wanted to rush me out of there and be done with it. What if I wouldn't have been aware of any of that? So then I return home and look over the car thoroughly. I noticed several new scratches in my door jambs. There's also a ton of overspray they didn't even bother to address. They also didn't refill my anti-freeze to the proper level with a clear indicator arrow on the coolant reservoir tank. That could potentially cause damage. I always keep my fluid topped off. I returned the next morning to show them and Matt and one of the owners got all defensive and did nothing but attack me and say it was my fault. There shouldn't be a SINGLE new scratch that wasn't there before. And with the coolant, he was talking to me like I was dumb and like I didn't know what a reservoir tank is and that they filled it up properly. But my owners manual says otherwise, along with Chevrolet and also my mechanic who I went and showed it to. Overall, it was a bad experience and leaves me wondering how many corners these guys may have cut. I wish I could give them a zero star rating. They were unorganized, sloppy, and did lazy work from a shop that I thought might be top tier. I'll see what my paint looks like as it cures over the next few months. My mechanics shop will also no longer be giving this place anymore referrals. I'll definitely be finishing up the rest of my bodywork elsewhere. I'm sure a much better shop will respond back to emails, be professional, not be rude, take accountability, and not talk to me like I'm stupid. I encourage all who read this to do their due diligence on researching other shops. I'm sure there's many better options out there for you. Best of luck. read more

When I took it in I was quoted five days but I have heard from anyone that had repair work done it always takes longer from anywhere you take it. updating my rating as now State Farm is not trusting this autobody shop estimate, they refuted the total loss that Brighton Auto Body gave them and are fixing my hail damage. This shop was wrong and overcharged for the estimate. After looking at the pictures and the estimate that Brighton Auto Body sent over State Farm requested never to use this shop again. After reading reviews, it seems this is NOT the place to call for hail damage. I spoke to Matt to make an appointment for an estimate. He basically refused my business, telling me I was doing it wrong. This, AFTER I had already spoken to my insurance. After hanging up with him, I called my claims department back it was confirmed.... Because the storm was not considered a catastrophic event I was free to get an estimate on my own without using the "special" insurance app. Status of my claim right now? Waiting for the submittal of an estimate from the shop of my choice (B&E Auto) for approval. Sad, I've used Brighton Auto Body my entire driving life. read more

I have an aftermarket spoiler on the trunk lid of my 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP that the manufacturer painted to match the body color of my car. After 12 years, the clear coat began peeling and, since this spoiler is no longer available, I took my car to Brighton Auto Body to get an estimate. Since the price that I was quoted is reasonable, I left my spoiler at Brighton Auto Body. A few days later, I received a phone call that my spoiler was ready and I went to Brighton Auto Body to have it installed. I'm happy to report that my spoiler is perfectly color-matched and the paint job looks better than when the spoiler was new! This is not the place to go for an oil change. I called today to see if they had availability and was told "they were really open today, so just come by." Within 15 minutes of being there, 4-5 other people came in who had talked to the same guy on the phone who told them to "come on by, we'll get you in." Personally, I waited a bit less than 90m for my oil to be changed, and watched them turn away some of the other people who were just told to come in that day to their great frustration. The second issue was the price. I was charged $125 for a synthetic oil change. Shame on me for not asking ahead of time, but I just never assumed it could possibly cost this much. It could be that they price their oil changes this way because they don't want this type of work, but if that's the case, they should tell people the prices on the phone when they inquire. The people were friendly enough, so two stars for that, but in terms of rating for this type of work, it left a lot to be desired. read more

Tried to get my car fixed for hail damage- including paint damage. I thought this would be a simple phone call to schedule an appointment. (Ha!!! Not!!!!) The guy that answered the phone "Darrell" was rude and didn't want to help. He seemed pissed off that I had even called. He said they don't give estimates. (What!?- a body shop that doesn't give estimates!?) He lectured me about how my insurance company would handle my claim and fix my car and that I shouldn't be contacting his body shop. After his stupid lecture, I explained to him that I had liability insurance only and that I was paying out of my own pocket to get my car fixed. What a jerk. How do they stay in business? Took my car here after a recent collision which damaged my rear bumper. When I came in for an estimate, they sat down with me immediately and explained the quote to me (other places wanted me to come back in a few weeks, just for an estimate!) After that, I scheduled the repair for the first available appointment. When I arrived to drop the car off, they called a guy from Hertz to come and drive me to my rental car. Not only did they have the car done on the day that they estimated (hard to find a shop that can even do this usually), they did a great job. Repair looks flawless, and they detailed my car, inside and out. To pick up the car, I just left my rental car with Brighton Auto and they gave me the keys to mine. They handled mostly everything with my insurance, State Farm, as well. Couldn't have been a better experience. I'll certainly return. read more

This body shop REFUSED to release a vehicle to a client who had a car fixed following an insurance claim because they had not received a second check from a nationally known insurance company. All information surrounding confirmation of the payment was available but the body shop refused until a check is in hand. My truck has a lot of hail damage that happened recently and I called to see if I could get a rough estimate on what it would take to fix it. The lady I talked to said "the insurance companies told us not to give estimates because the insurance companies plan on giving people a very small amount of money to fix there vehicles and we won't be able to give you an estimate, even if you brought it in, until we talk to the insurance company and receive an insurance check.'' I will not use any body shop that can't be upfront and honest with a customer. The shop made it obvious they do not care about the customers. Brighton Auto Body also does auto repair. I've been using this wonderful shop for approximately 8 years to keep my 2004 Subaru Outback in good working condition. Darrell is the manager over the auto repair shop and he's amazing to work with. If my car doesn't need the work he will tell me to hold off until it's needed. 9 times out of 10, I will pick up my car and find it's been cleaned inside and out! Even the inside windows have been known to get cleaned. One time, I was sure they took a buffer to the outside body as the car shined brightly for about a month. I love this shop. The work was completed very quickly and on time. When I walked in to Brighton Auto Body and made my appointment they made me feel welcome and were very nice. This is a family owned business in a small town and they've been around a long while. When I picked up my car, it was washed, clean and shiny. The interior was shampooed and the car looked detailed, Amazing! The work completed was super high quality and they have proven to me that I will be a repeat customer for mechanical work too.
